The apartment hunt is on hold. Waiting to see if she enters UMKC School of Law in the fall. No way to afford both at once.

Yes! Mine thinks he is the King of the household so anything he likes is automatically his. LOL Poor youngest has to hoard food in her room. He will literally sit down and eat an entire bag or box of something. Sadly, he has discovered her room stash.....

Although, to be fair, he did something nice for her last night--well after he messed up. Youngest was very tired and tearful. We got home from dance about 7:45. She needed math help but her dad didn't get in until after 8:30. She had two costumes that were cut too low in the chest so her instructors had sent them home with triangular pieces of white satin to be sewn in and I needed her to try them on. She was having a fit about it. Drama!! I didn't want/need to do the sewing, it was for her.....anyhow, finally got her to change. While she was in one costume her brother came in from work and remarked what an ugly costume. She began to cry, her dad and I gave him the evil eye. I told him there was no need to be so mean. Later he was fixing himself cake and ice cream and I mentioned that his sister might like some for a pick me up since she was still working on math upstairs with her dad. So he fixed her a bowl and took it up to her without complaint. I asked if she seemed happy to get it and he said yes. Not that long ago he would have just said she could get her own ice cream.... so there is improvement. I know it is not much but I have to appreciate even such a small victory/blessing.

Well, I guess you know all the celebrities living out there with all the rich and famous. Must just be an everyday occurrence with you. Do you run into the Kardashians with all that shopping you do?

I'm not quite sure why a 2 headed pig made the news. We have had them before, but didn't make a media event out of it. Ours were like Siamese twins.

Lucky - Yes and I actually do normally get that but I've been borderline on my GPA and last term I completely messed up. I had a math class, personal finance class and Accounting class....I am limited by what I can take...I have to take classes that are available within my degree program last term that is all that was avail. I knew it would be trouble but I tried my hardest and almost made it. But my GPA dropped below the requirement(barely) and they took away my grants/financial aid. I have to take 10 cr hrs to prove myself and pass them w decent grades to get it back... so that is what I was trying to do.
He said he'd help so I signed up but now...I'm not sure. Anyway, I think I've decided to keep my classes and just to do my best to pick up extra hours at work. I will find a way to pay for it...yard sale...something. I can't give up. I need this to get my financial aid back ... I am half way done with my degee. I can not give up now...regardless of what he says/does.

Anyway...before things look up...I kinda was forced to OD my acct today - not thrilled. I get a draw check Monday but... my 12yr daughter started her first ever period today. Not her fault...she needs things and I have to provide so...we went to the store. I hate doing that to my account but it'll be fixed Monday. still..an extra $35 fee I get to spend...yay.

Anyway I will stop my whining here. Things WILL and HAVE TO work out. I'll get over it......just frustrated about my money situation.

Well, I got tons of homework to do still...I better get with it.

Oh ya...lost only 1 little lb this week but I'll take it with all the #$%^&^% I got going on LOL.

I'll be back soon

Girls I have a very serious question.

Baby Lony has a freakishly weird tolerance for pain. She burned her hand pretty bad and never cried once. Not when DD put cold water and ice or her hand or anything. Today she got stung by a bee and the only way the DD knew is she found the bee hanging from Lony's leg with the stinger still stuck in her leg.

Should we be worried?

oh gosh Lony yeah i would be worried certainly have the doc know about it and see what he thinks she could certainly hurt herself badly if she can't learn not to touch things that hurt her and later on kids that have trouble feeling pain don't seem to mind inflicting it on others

eek a quick google turned this up
Quote:
For patients with this disorder, cognition and sensation are otherwise normal; for instance patients can still feel discriminative touch (though not always temperature[1]), and there are no detectable physical abnormalities.

Children with this condition often suffer oral cavity damage both in and around the oral cavity (such as having bitten off the tip of their tongue) or fractures to bones. Unnoticed infections and corneal damage due to foreign objects in the eye are also seen. Because the child cannot feel pain they may not respond to problems, thus being at a higher risk of more severe diseases.
never even thought about they could bite their tongue WOW scary big hugs for little Lony

Yeah, we were putting things together today and she cries when she falls but only for a second because it scares her. She has a huge knot on her head from falling and she cried for two seconds.

She cries because she hates to be held down. The shots don't bother her.

Wow, sounds somewhat concerning. I don't know anything about this but have heard some people don't feel pain. I guess it's time to get it checked out.

Deb--congrats to Steven. You should make that company that you paid express shipping refund your extra shipping charge since they didn't do it.

sweetheart i wish i knew something to TELL you to help SIGH the only expierence i hav e had with the ones who can't feel pain is in FMD at school now there usually isn't anything cognitively wrong with most of them but there is no empathy for other kids and often active HURTING of them
thank goodness none of the kids i have worked with have bit their tongue off or anything like that
Steven is getting ready to graduate with one of the boys i worked with when he was younger very smart kid taught himself how to read before preschool he is over a year younger than steven but they put him a grade a head when little he was rough but now seems like any other geeky guy KWIM?
