Wow, Lony, poor Mike and his friend. That sounds terrible. Glad you were warm and toasty in your new parka.

Melinda--oh no, I hope your toe is ok. I broke mine a few months ago. There's nothing you can do but let it heal unless it is shattered or something.

KC--I am concerned about my boys. DH and I are "older" parents and I don't want them with us forever. I sure hope things turn around soon.

Well sort of, this one adds sliced onions and cut up lemons. I added a splash of worcteshire, some dried onion powder and garlic. But essentially it is ketchup and diet cola and chicken.

Whew! Well, I am glad you are safely home. So dangerous just driving in that much less stopping on the side of the road in bad weather conditions. So many good Samaritans get hit helping on the side of the road. I am glad it turned out okay. You shoulda let Mike use the parka.

Good morning....
just a note to let you all know our little Layla went into the hospital yesterday with RSV. She is in the childrens ICU unit. It came on her very quickly and by the time DD was taking her in to the dr. she was having a hard time breathing and vomiting. We are just so thankful for getting her there when we did. Dr. said she was in really bad shape when she came in. It was heart breaking to see her being worked on and so helpless.
DD says she is sleeping this morning and after a rough night with them giving her breathing treatments and trying to put a feeding tube in we are praying for a much better day today!! We do know she is doing so much better than yesterday. Her heart rate is back down to normal and her temp also. They are still working on her breathing. They say it will be 4-7 days in the hospital for her. There are a ton of people praying and a few more prayers will be appreciated.

Good Morning!

Well, they said we would get rain overnight but I don't believe we did. It is very cloudy out again this morning so maybe we will get some. I should turn on the tv and see. Yesterday at the track meet some moms were talking about severe/tornadic weather coming in from Colorado. Apparently Colorado will get 12-15 inches of snow and we will get terrific winds.

I was really frustrated with my youngest yesterday. Why do they constantly feel the need to have to participate in everything?!She was texting me and begging me to let her skip dance while I was on the way to pick her up from the track meet (which was a dress rehearsal for competition this weekend) to do an event at the track meet. She missed her first event and the teachers told her that if she didn't do an event at the meet she would be kicked off the track team. She was soooo upset about getting kicked off the team. Turns out she was finally able to run in an event but we were both incredibly stressed out. Me, because the teachers/coaches put such stress on my daughter and because the dance teachers were going to have a fit and would remember this come next year's tryouts....... and of course her for the loss of the track team.

I asked how all this happened and why she didn't do any event or race before I got there as she had been there for over an hour. This was her first track meet and she didn't really know what to expect or how they worked. She didn't realize that the long jump and other jumps had started, she thought she was supposed to be signed up to do an event and didn't know she could just walk over to ask to do it. So she kept wandering around. Meanwhile my blood pressure was going up and up! She finally found out that she could enter a race. She ended up coming in second in that heat! We left in a hurry as we had farther than normal to drive to dance and she had to get her hair up in a bun, strip, put on her body tights and then put on her lyrical costume in the car. We got there a couple of minutes late so it ended up working out but I could so have done without the drama/stress.! LOL

That chicken in the crock was very good. The chicken was moist and had a great bbq taste. The sauce could have used some thickening but I didn't bother as I just felt Bleck! I went to bed at 9 pm. I do feel better today but yesterday morning, I didn't feel sick either. I hope it's gone, whatever it is.

My ds14 has a sore throat, swollen glands and cough. UGH. I'm hoping it's not strep again. Never ends, huh?

Annett, I have a little story for you. Last night after watching The Voice my husband said, "Let's switch over to the game." I had forgotten about it! I was telling my dh and youngest daughter about someone I knew who could win some money if Louisville won and said so I am going to root for Michigan. You should have seen the look of shock on my daughter's face! She was like, "Why would you do that? If your friend could win money why would you want the opposite team to win?!" she was absolutely floored. She had interrupted me before I finished talking anyway, so then I explained how I had to root for Michigan because most all the games this year, the teams I had been rooting for all lost, so I needed to help Louisville win.

Then I saw the score and it was Michigan 33 Louisvile 21! Wow! It was looking bad for Louisville. Then my son came in from swim practice and he was also for Louisville. I went to the kitchen to fix his dinner plate and do dishes and I heard him exclaiming "Ah!" "Ooooooh!" etc. on and on. Apparently my coming in for Michigan really worked my magic. Louisville went on a 14-3 run with tremendous shots so that at half time the score was Michigan 38 Louisville 37!

Enjoy your newfound money. And. You are welcome!

Goodness, Chewie. I hope you feel better today. If you start feeling sick again today maybe you and your son should get tested for strep. I have a friend whose kids get strep 3-4x a year each! One of them never has a sore throat-- she is always headachey and nauseous and ends up positive for strep. Hope you don't have it though.

I am going to make a, well I know this sounds gross.. but for my sonny boy.. I am going to make veggies with ground beef and mix it all together with Top Ramen noodles that I cooked in the seasoning packet...and then mix a quick teryaki sauce I am going to make...and then for me.. its going to be some ground beef...maybe some cabbage and tomatoes...like a soup I think....so I can measure out the cabbage and tomatoes...cause cabbage makes me gain weight.. so I will cut them like noodles....so I can use very little...
