Shannon, glad to hear you had a great vacation!

I spent the day getting paperwork together for my family leave. I hate paperwork!

I weighed in this morning at 153.8 lbs. I haven't seen that number since 2006 and it was just briefly. I am thinking that my target area will be somewhere between 145-155. I will keep doing what I do but don't want to go below 145 lbs. When I get my arms done, they will remove a couple pounds but that won't be for at least a year, although I would like to do it in September and just be done with it.

As far as my food goes, I have my favorite meals and I pretty much stick to the same ones. The veggies change and the meat at lunch, but my breakfast is usually one of two that I love. And supper is my greek yogurt and pumpkin. With big salads, yumm! And my favorite Goddess dressing from Trader Joe's. so long as I don't pick up the first compulsive bite of food, the binge monster is kept at bay, and the disease of compulsive overeating remains in remission. I get just today and just today I am in recovered so long as I remain in fit spiritual condition. That means taking care of myself and staying connected to God through prayer and meditation and treating others with love and kindness. It takes everything I've got some days.

I just watched the most touching story of a young 17 year old named Zach who wrote the song CLOUDS. He died just yesterday, but left behind a legacy. This will bring tears to your eyes but it is all about living today as if there are no more tomorrows. He had a smile for everyone right to the end. Here's the story.

This Kid Just Died. What He Left Behind Is Wondtacular.

Ten there was a story about an elderly lady whose mini schnauzer went missing in the tornado and while being interviewed by the reporter, the dog peaks his nose out of some rubble. Enjoy!

I've seen posts by cfine on another thread.

Hey we are very close to the end of our challenge.
Let's see it through in good form!

I know that I am extending, but may use this deadline to tweak my goals.

Would you all like to go to July 4th for the next challenge? Shorter cycles help me focus better and adjust my goals. What do you think?

I went to my doc today and he said all my blood work looked good except I was low on potassium. I started taking a diuretic this month which is supposed to be potassium sparing but I don't think it is. I already take one potassium tablet a day so I am adding yet one more pill. Great news is that he is lowering one of my thyroid meds again. I am now taking 1/3 what I took less than a year ago. With a smaller body and less stress on my thyroid it is just not having to work as hard.

I am game for a July 4th challenge. That will give us 5.5 weeks for a new goal.

Michele- I have tons of stuff to make LC breads and muffins and I end up never using it. I eat pretty simple fresh foods most of the time, very little cooking other than an omelette, stir fry veggies or crock pot meat. People always talk about not having time to plan for LC eating when I actually think it not any harder than any other way of eating. Maybe I have been doing it long enough that it just seems that way.

Shannon- Not having to use an extender for a plane seatbelt is a big deal. Makes travel less embarrassing for sure.

Mary- Thanks for the link to the woman who found her dog after the tornado. When the tornado sirens went off in my neighborhood last week I grabbed my dogs and a few other items and ran into a bathroom where the dogs crawled into my lap. So glad her pup was ok with all the devastation around them.

Happy Wednesday ~ This challenge has been a struggle for me but I'm still here and I'm still on plan more than I'm off plan.

July 4th sounds like a great challenge.

I'm going to keep it simple for the rest of this challenge.

Post every day

I am feeling good and looki g forward to returning to work. Some of the sutured areas behind my ears are taking a little long to heal but from my face in the front view, it looks normal. I would do it again if offered. I am appealing my disability claim becaise plastic surgery isn't covered, so two doctors have written ststement that this part of my treatment plan after losing 222.6 lbs. keep for fingers cross and prayers to the angl of reconstruction that it is approved.

I did a very stupid thing and am paying for it now. A friend had gotten some permanent makeup and it looked good. The artist was very subtle with the application and my friend went back because she wanted darker lips and eyeliner. So I went with her yesterday and got some upper eye liner and lips. My lids look great but my lips now look like a baboon's a$$. They are HUGELY swollen and bright flaming red. She put on pink ink but my lips are freaking glowing bright red right now. I look like a clown, I am so freaked out. My friends lips do not look like mine at all and she had a much darker color applied. I want to cry but I can't because my eyes are swollen and they'd probably hurt if I did. Remember as a kid those big red wax lip candies that you could wear and then chew on? I think those would look tame next to my lips right now. Baboon's a$$, yep, that is about right.

Welcome Ms. Roxbury!

Mary- I really hope that the insurance will pay. With the docs letters they should see it as medically necessary.

Cindy- Nice to see you posting.

Frankie,so sorry. The swelling will go down. Give it a week or two. You could always go back later and have a different color applied or wear lipstick.

I don't think I coukd let someone put permanent ink on my face especially if I am awake. It would freak me out just thinking about the pain. I'll pray it all works out for you.

Mary- Yeah, the pain was tough. There are some topical fruit acids in some lotions that can fade the ink if it is just too much, I am waiting to see what it is like once it is healed.

Michele- Hang in there, it'll drop off if you stick to plan. My lips are getting better, swelling is coming down but they are very bruised still.

LovelyBelle- Welcome! It is never too late to start. Plus the new July 4th challenge is in a few days and it is a good kick off to losing the pounds for summer.

One more day left of this challenge! I'm going to try my hardest to squeeze out another pound by only drinking water today...no pop.....stay away from Atkins products, pork rinds and other super salty foods.

Have a wonderful Sunday ladies!

Hey guys! I'm back, too, and I'll join you in the July 4 challenge.

My stats say 184 as my current weight, but I've gained back about 7 lbs. and have been in the 191-ish range for about 5 months now, and can't get below it. That's because I'm sabotaging myself with carb creep.

I need this thread to help keep me accountable.

It is the wierdest thing. I have been adding in extra calories by eating high fat Cabit 10% greek yogurt. It has nearly twice the calories of fate free greek yogurt. And I am still losing. I will report the final weight tomorrow. I was 158 when I started April 1 and only wanted to lose 2 lbs a month. I am in the maintenance range now. I will most likely add food back into my food plan on the 1st of June.

If no one minds, I'd like to join in on the July 4th challenge as well. That will be two weeks before my vacation so that's good timing for me. I'm not going anywhere for vacation but having family here with two teen boys! My plan is to stay on plan. I don't think I'll have much of a problem actually as none of them are big snackers and the stuff they do like, I don't like

When will someone post the July 4th challenge?
