sharkini 03-24-2013 08:57 AM

No more nightly pain pill!!!!

Woohoo..I slept all night witout needing hydrcodone, this is awesome as I have been needing them for a long time. Exercise really helps, I'm not doing too much but will build up as time goes on. Yipeee

Sunday
1.5 miles on treadmill (played a lil with the incline too)
50 sit-ups
hand weights

MaryMary 03-24-2013 10:40 AM

Today my goal is to walk over 10,000 steps
So far I am at 8,222
I went for my first walk in the park with my hubby for the new year.
It has been so cold, but spring is starting to peak throughh every once in a while

I will check in here.
Thanks

biancasteeplechase 03-24-2013 04:50 PM

Another thirty minutes on the elliptical this morning (set at 13).

MaryMary 03-24-2013 05:37 PM

I made it to 10,575! The walk in the park was invigorating. The snow is still on the ground but you see where they had taken a snowblower to make a path.

I was cooking all afternoon for the coming week. I broiled brussel sprouts, baked summer squash, riced some cauliflower (that's a first). I am not real sure what to do with it. I made a meatloaf that I will have tomorrow.

So with tomorrow being a work day, I will be lucky if I get to 5,000 steps.

sharkini 03-25-2013 02:23 PM

WTG Mary!! That's awesome.

Monday
2 mile walk
Weights

May I join you all? I would love to go all night without my hydrcodone too, I've been taking it for years.....bad knees and back. Just starting back on plan, trying to get/keep motivated. 30 minutes on my recumbent bike--done! :)

Monday
Only 2000 steps...didn't leave the house all day...car broke down...worked from home.

biancasteeplechase 03-26-2013 05:28 AM

Monday - thirty minutes on the elliptical at setting 13.

MaryMary 03-26-2013 05:38 AM

If anyone here lifts weights, I would like to start conservatively to add some weights in addition to walking. What would be a good place to start?

Jazlyn 03-26-2013 08:50 AM

Welcome Heidihoopi :)

sharkini 03-26-2013 10:16 AM

:hiya: heidihoopi. I have problems with my back, hips and feet. I'm two weeks in and feel so great I can hardly believe it. Glad to have you join us!

Tuesday
45 minutes on treadmill
30 minutes bike

Two week update: I'm down 12 pounds!

heidihoopi 03-26-2013 11:43 AM

Wow sharkini, good for you on the loss! Sorry you deal with so much pain. That's wonderful you feel so much better already! Gives me hope. Thank you and Jazlyn for the welcome. :)

Thirty minutes on the elliptical at level 13. Judge Judy tearing people a new one on the TV.

sharkini 03-27-2013 04:26 PM

2 miles treadmill
sit-ups

Worlds worst headache going on, I gave up coffee yesterday.

cfine 03-28-2013 06:48 AM

Can I join in? I started going to the gym at the end of Dec after losing 50lbs. My current regimen looks like this:
Four days per week
20 minutes elliptical-I do high intensity interval training(this is the best way I've found to get a quick workout in in less time)
Alternate arm and leg weights
Abs every time
Stretches

Although I think exercising has made it harder to see the scale move down, I have toned up my body in ways that I wouldn't have if I was just strictly LCing. I have gained muscle mass and my pain levels have went way down.

heidihoopi 03-28-2013 02:45 PM

Of course you can cfine, welcome aboard.

30 minutes on the bike, done. Watched an old movie on TCM, makes it lots less boring, I'm a big ole movie fan, anyone else?.
