Frankie, you are most definitely right about the attitude and outlook. I keep reminding myself that I am feeling better and despite those certain foods that I miss, all of it only serves to make me literally sick! As usual, your progress continues to astound and motivate me!

Scale moved finally... feeling a little better every day..can't exactly put my finger on what it is, but I know I am getting better. SO thankful for relaxing and restful sleep for the first time in months and months!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. It got cold and rainy after having been really warm and sunny this week. I need to up my protein as I am sure I am not getting enough,,,I felt like I was ready to pass out in Zumba class. I am so out of shape and it is a real workout for me,,,but I am actually liking it and I hate to exercise. The class is filled with people of ALL sizes so I don't feel like the only fat and uncoordinated person. Well I might be the only uncoordinated one. LOL

Z- Have you taken your measurements lately. With all the working out you may be losing a butt load of bulky fat and developing nice lean muscles in its place. I am always surprised the places I lose fat after I take my measurements.

Danielle- I am glad you are feeling better each day. Each day that you continue to drop the weight will reinforce the positive LC foods and how they are working so well for your body. There are a few foods that I am not eating now but in the future I might have them in a special circumstance. If I am in France, I will be eating bread and croissants. Not a pig out, but I will eat them in moderation. I don't eat breads here in the US because it is not worth it to have those things and veer off plan. I only get there every few years, so when I get the chance to travel to France I will partake. This is a deal I have allowed for myself. But for daily eating I look at it as a choice. I have the option to make a good choice each day, each meal, and keep looking ahead to a healthier future. Somehow this keeps me focused and I don't miss most carby things so much anymore. I also have changed from thinking I'll have have X carby food when I am at goal. I don't feel like I will change my plan very much other than adding in more moderate LC food like legumes when I am at goal. I am trying to change my thought process about food each day. Little by little it is working. I also know when the scale goes up it is not because of what I ate. It is my typical daily fluctuation that is a normal part of my weight loss. I don't have to go searching for the thing that made me gain. If I am on plan the overall monthly trend is downward.

Today's Meditation brings back some memories. Although, dessert wasn't a part of the order from my Mom.
We just knew we had better clean our plates.

Danielle....Thanks. I AM hanging in....I will NOT ever give up no matter what. Eating right makes me feel so much better. I have learned what it takes for me to maintain. Now to lose the fat and THEN maintain.

Frankie....Your post to Danielle is super good!! Thanks for sharing that.

I need to remind myself what REAL French bread tastes like. It's been several years since I was in Paris. Makes "our" bread taste like cardboard, doesn't it? Their portion sizes (in restaurants) put ours to shame too. It's no wonder Americans have a weight problem.

I was off plan yesterday. Went to a brunch buffet with my son. I will be off plan today, but not nearly as bad. Going out of town with my daughter and her grandsons. I'll be back on plan tomorrow. Not weighing today or tomorrow....maybe not on Tuesday either. I'll just have to see how I feel.

Frankie - Sage advice to Danielle! No wonder you're so successful!

So I spent yesterday doing a very LC-low cal day (DD on JUDDD) with lots of water to make up for the carbfest I had on Sunday! This was the first time I've succumbed to carb junk since I restarted 13 months ago and let me tell ya, I felt like ****! Thankfully I'm almost back to where I was a few days ago, although I'm still a little tired and headachy. Why-oh-why did I do that? Lesson learned!!!

Kali- My scale is not so erratic as yours. But if I am lucky enough for a loss of more than a pound, I usually bounce up again for a day or two. I look at the lower number as a forecast of what can happen in if I stick to plan.

Judy & Krazy Cat- I am glad you both were able to get back on plan and immediately back to dropping the carb weight. I think this is important. In my life I know there will be some special occasion carb days at some point and learning to not be completely derailed by a day or two is something I am trying to learn.

Cassidy- Glad you had a great time in NYC, such a fun city to visit. How have you been feeling?

Phranquie - just wondering what plan you follow, you seem to lose pretty consistently and I find that I just don't. I do tend to stay pretty low cal. and I really don't over eat if anything I probably don't eat enough.

Here's an example of my daily food:
B - 2 scrambled eggs
L - 1 can of tuna and lettuce with dressing or I'll eat leftover meat from dinner and some raw veggies and dip
D - usually either hamburger or chicken breast with a little cheese melted on it and some raw or cooked broccoli or cauliflower.
S - if I snack it will either be an atkins choc. bar or bacon or bacon chips with a little sourcream dip.
I usually drink 1 can of diet coke, 1 coffee with cream and the rest of the day just water

It seems good but I just don't lose consistently. I'm not hungry and I do feel full after each meal so I don't know how to switch it up. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Plugging away over here.. upped my oil of oregano last night and am itchy itchy all over..guess it's doing it's job? Aside from that I am feeling pretty good.. Far cry from where I was at a week ago that is for sure!

Kali, I feel the exact same way. I haven't changed up my eating at all this week. Matter of fact, I caught a Zumba class yesterday after work. I know I have the weekly "plumbing" issues, but that's no different than any other week. Just sick of it sometimes.

Great Morning Friends!!

Frankie and Dani- I have been feeling good. Just tired. In NYC I was very tired. I am sure it was all the walking.

Trying to maintain in the 290 range the entire pregnancy. I am trying my best to gain no weight and my Dr. thinks I can do it. He also said it is ok for me to stay LC as long as I stay out of ketosis. So good deal. Also free to workout so I will be resuming today after my trip.

I did another Zumba class which kicked my butt hard last night. I did not feel like eating much afterward. It was my 4th class and it is not getting any easier. This shows me how out of shape I am!

Groovy- I eat very low calories compared to most people. Just part of my slow metabolism, thyroid disease and now being older (52) and in menopause. I have dropped my calories down to an average of about 650 per day. I average about 40 carbs a day. I do have some meals on weekends where I have a high carb portion of some food. So I keep the rest of my carb consumption low that day. I think it is all in moderation and averages for me. In 2003 I lost very well at 850 cals a day, but much more than that and I just do not lose. I could probably eat that now but I am feeling good where I am with eating. I also have been doing IF most days where I typically eat only in the evening. This takes away a lot of compulsive thoughts about food during the day and I feel very satiated with what I eat in the evening. If I am very hungry and it is not head hunger, I will eat more and I will break my day fast. When we go out to eat I will on occasion go up to 1000 calories but this is not too often. This works for my body and lifestyle, not sure it will work for anyone else. If I can eat more calories and consistently lose, I will just add more protein and fat to my plan, which is what I plan to do when I reach maintenance. I also take vitamins and supplements and get my blood work tested with my doc to make sure I am not deficient in any area.

Terri- I saw photo that you posted in the "Before and After" thread. I would not recognize you before. What a wonderful transformation!

Thank you so much for your info Frankie, very much appreciated. I think I need to do a lower calorie diet as well, I think that's why I lose on the FF days but who knows, just trying to figure out a plan where I can lose consistently... I lose motivation when I stall for weeks at a time.

IKR Dani. I went in thinking my Dr. would be against my diet. He favors it in overweight patients just with more veggies.

CeeCee - I lost weight with all my pregnancies and that was with eating those little cravings you can get I did add carbs into my diet just kept it to small portions and ate more veggies. Don't worry too much about it, just eat sensibly and the weight will be good.
