Eliza--that bread looks beautiful. I love to bake bread but can't really eat it now and neither should my family. Although dh did pick up some hawaiian rolls for dinner today.

It's a nice sweet Easter bread and it lasts a long time. Grandma used to make a half dozen loaves or so and we had the leftovers as snack for a long time afterwards. Great with cold milk. I've seen it sold here in the US under a different name but it's not nearly as good as the homemade one, which was nice and dense and porous.

I love any kind of bread but am trying to stay away from it just like you do. I can never have only one slice

It's a dessert bread, my friend, and when the sugar caramelizes on top, it's heaven! If I ever make some, I'll send you a loaf.

Now off to file the state tax report for my business...grrrrrr....not my favorite thing but has to be done.

EEEK!!! we let the cats up there and hopefully their smell might dter the birds but i was afraid of the insulation would harm the cats UGH
anyone know how to get them OUT?? we have to figure out how to get up there on the outside(30 feet in the air) to close up whatever hole they geting through Ken can't put scaffolding together any more goodness i wonder how much a small cherry picker would be to rent??

Hi again. That took me a lot less time than I thought. Corn thing is done, spinach is done---it's super easy and bakes in the oven if anyone wants the recipe---the deviled eggs are done and the potatoes are ready for the cheese sauce(Bechamel) later. Dh is going to get the kielbasi cut up, we have 2 kinds and the ham in the oven. He said he's going to make a roasted asparagus with mushrooms or something. I even washed the mushrooms for him. I think it's almost time for reading/nap/rest.

Eliza--I would love to have some of that bread although I'd only be able to eat a tiny portion and then be full. I stay away from most things but protein and lc veggies now. I never eat dessert or bread. I just don't have much desire and certainly don't have to room. If I eat too much, I get bad pains in my upper stomach/chest and believe me, that is a GREAT deterrant.

Deb--I hurt my upper left back yesterday and was in so much pain, I had to take 1/2 of a pain pill left from my surgery. It still hurts today. Weird place to hurt it---sort of halfway up your back on the side.

Eliza--do you have any of that pottery? It is beautiful. I don't have any but would love some. I do have some czeck crystal pieces my aunt brought me back from a trip but that's it. That pic of all the goodies looks great.

I haven't tried this yet but I think it'll be delicious. It sure is easy to put together.

Easy creamed spinach
2 pks of frozen chopped spinach
1/2 stick butter
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup parmesan cheese+ 2 T for the top
salt and pepper
garlic powder
Cook the spinach and strain if wet. Mix with the melted butter, parmesan, 8 oz of cream cheese and spices. Top with 2 T parmesan. Bake for 30 minutes and serve.

Can't someone get up from your stairs? Then you can plug up any holes with steel wool. That will also keep out mice and squirrels.

Good memories. My grandma, we called her Baba--used to make paska and the nut and poppyseed rolls plus other Eastern European stuff like halushki and stuff. I loved the paska and rolls. YUMMMMMM

I understand this so well. Last year was the worst year of my life especially that vacation we took to 100 degrees San Antonio. I about died from the heat and frustration. After that horrible experience is when I had to take a real look at myself and decided to move forward with the weight loss surgery---something I didn't want to have to do. I felt I had no choice. I am glad I did it now. I am a different person in more ways than just a smaller size. I feel like I've been given hope again in my life.

We just have a drop down one too. It is hard to get up there. Maybe you could get one of Ashley's sisters to come and do it for you????

That's not good. Take some ibuprofen or something.
