Then this evening while I was out with youngest at dance it was like a miniblizzard came through. Snow was coming down so hard and fast with wind and we could not make out buildings on the way home. Lasted about 30 minutes and then done. A weird weather day here.

I cheated for dinner tonight as I couldn't make myself leave the house earlier in the day. Ended up fixing French Dip Sandwiches and Onion Rings with a Roasted Sweet Red Pepper and Tomato Soup. I have been so hungry the last couple of days and so I have been overeating. Which is a bad thing since I have gained about 5 lbs in two weeks. Ugh.

I finally got the chance to talk to my sister today. She went to the doctor and got it confirmed that she has lymphadema in her legs like my mom. She is now going for therapy, massage stuff for two hours a day for the next three weeks. She seems too young to me to have this. I was wondering if it could be treated with therapy and then be okay but she says no. She will always have to deal with it. I think I need to go do some more reading on this. I hope I am not headed down the same path!
oh gosh i hope the massages help

Sue--when/why did your dd live in Alaska? My dh was offered a job there but that was when we were considering moving here and they weren't willing to pay for us to come and scout it out. Plus the parents need us to look after them and I don't think either would have wanted to follow us to Alaska. LOL

Melinda--I say keep telling your ds about the loans. That is an awful way to start life after college. I hope he changes his mind or gets a HUGE scholarship to USC.
She went to Juneau for a 6 wk. internship. They hired her and she stayed 6 yrs. Talk about a tough time on mom!!! We flew up once and went fishing on a fisherman's boat. That was fun and scary all at the same time!!! She took us to so many beautiful places. It is a lovely place. They grill salmon out the way we grill hamburgers! Talk about some good fish!

Deb....if you go to YouTube there is lots of videos on making those diaper cakes. I don't know if there is one like you want but you might check.

Wow, I have been lost on a Pinterest Board most of the morning! LOL Well, I have showered and dressed, made beds, done laundry and dishes in btwn but otherwise have spent a good couple of hours going through one board! She must have thousands of pins.

I have also ripped out two knitting projects. I ripped apart one of the infinity scarves I made. I thought that I would like the pattern since it had a large like 3"rib before going into the cowl portion but I feel like it looks like the bottom 1/3 of a sweater! Looks unfinished to me. So, even though youngest thought it was ok I couldn't stand looking at it. Shall now have to find another pattern to knit it up in. I also tried on the sock that I am knitting as I was thinking it was looking a bit big. Good thing I did as it was huge. Sooooooo that has been ripped and rerolled into a ball as well. Need to go down in needle size apparently. Oh, well, better to find out now than after it is a completed sock, right? Well, that is what I am telling myself anyway.

I need to figure out what I am making for dinner tonight because I am pretty certain that I shall have to go to the store for ingredients. I am thinking maybe something with chicken. I have some leftover butternut squash cubes, brussels sprouts, and broccoli head that I could roast to go along with the chicken. Just got to decide what kind of chicken.

Melinda, where are you going for your getaway? I think it is good. I was feeling a bit stressed before my little trip last week. It is good to get away.

Mona,! So good to hear from you. Sorry the lc plan isn't working for you. I am in the same boat and trying to figure out something that will work for me! Hope work goes smoothly and quickly for you.

Yes, I cover with the roaster lid. I think I do 325 for about 3 hours. I'm not very good with exact recipes. When it is finished, the gravy is nice and thick and it is delicious. One year for a family dinner, I slice the roast and then cooked it that way. It was so good.

My MRI is Thursday. It is about 80 miles away so my husband is going to take off to drive me. When I lay flat for an MRI, I can't walk when I am finished. I really dread it, but the new machines are not as bad as the old ones they had. I felt like I was going into a coffin. I always thought just the part you needed the scan of should go in the machine. I made them put me in backwards one time when they did one of my knee. I didn't see any sense in my upper body being in there.

Just checking in today. I have been sticking to my diet really well. I will weigh myself this weekend to see if I have lost any weight. I hate weighing so I stay away from the scales as much as I can. I ususally go by how my clothes are fitting, if they feel loose then I know I have lost some.

Interesting KC - I've been diagnosed with it too..........they feel mine is due to the radiation treatments I had. Sounds like yours is genetic. Although in my reading - I don't really recall it as being genetic - just that some people are born with it, others develop it after radiationp others it just happens. Lots of luck on reading up and finding answers. There really isn't any that I can see - it's a matter of trying to keep it at bay for as long as possible. There is no cure. Finding a doctor that even considers it is difficult too from what I've read - they tend to think in terms of edema. It is so much more than that. They say right now - the best is to find a lymphedema specialist - the more knowledgeable they are the better - more so than the doctor.

I've yet to get back in to see the specialist - too many other things right now for me to deal with it. But - I know I have to and soon. Good luck to your sister - will be interested in how she does and what she is experiencing.

I'm that way too Lucky - don't like feeling like I'm confined. They do have open MRI's now - that's what they used on me the last couple of times. So much better. Some say the results aren't as good as a closed MRI - but it all depends on how good the tech is.

Mary - I have a son that lives in New Smyrna - can I come down and you can give me lessons on how to stick with a plan? Then I can visit with ds too. Win/win, right? Good job on doing so well sticking to your plan.

We had snow all day yesterday - heavy, wet snow. Ugh. The good part was it is all gone. I'll take that over 8-12" for sure. It's still cool out there, wonder if spring is going to spring any time soon. No one told the daffodils - they are all blooming - lol - that's thumbing their noses at winter, right? The cherry blossoms are already to pop too. Love the cherry blossoms - so beautiful.

Made a run to the grocery, things all put away.

Sent Uncle Sam a nice check, sigh - everyone got their taxes done?

Oh - ugh - ewww - yuck...........a hawk just flew over with something in it's claws. Awww - hope it wasn't a baby rabbit or squirrel...........I love mother nature - just don't want front row seats at the icky side of it. And I'm a country girl. As my daddy would have said - you should be used to it by now lil missy.
