Would love to! There is a pkg called "Cowboys and Cajuns". Does Dallas to San Antonio to New Orleans, another called "Riverwalk to the French Quarter" which is San Antonio to New Orleans. I can't believe that there is no southern route from KC. Would have to go to St. Louis and down through Little Rock and over to Dallas! There is a station around Oklahoma City that goes down to Dallas Ft Worth and down to SAn Antonio then you could go east or west to Calif. These are all packages but you can just as easily plan your own trips/stops. Which is what I did. I saved money over the package but I also didn't start in Chicago.

Wow! How cool! I will look into it. Haven't had any train trips in like 12 years. Miss it.

I think it's all about the memories. I end up throwing those trinkets away when decluttering anyway.....

DH's Grandmother had traveled the world and collected plates from every corner of the world. She had a wonderful display on one wall of her kitchen. It was so much fun to look at them.

Hi again. Geeze, everyone must be sleeping in. Melinda---waving to you from the east. Miss you girlie.

I did all the dishes, cleaned the frig(Why is my frig such a mess all the time????) and now making ds14 breakfast---some cheesesticks and chicken tenders---frozen so easy peasy. He will go back on low carb tomorrow.

I also chatted with my bff in CT for about an hour and no one is here yet????

BTW, that onion soup was phenomenal. It might be cause we haven't had it in so long but it was so good. DS14 and I only had soup and dh had quiche too. I only had 1/2 cup and couldn't even finish that. LOL

Good morning Chewie!

We had a storm last night and it's still kinda gray outside. Just having coffee hanging out with DH who just came home from work. Will probably make some eggs and bacon later.

Good Morning snowflakes!

11 degrees this morning and no one wanted to get out of bed.

Ohhhh FYI I switched over to the new pintrest and it is not bad. The only complaint I have is you cannot comment on a pin unless you open it. Other than that I give it two thumbs up.

I organized my pantry. What a mess. Now all the veggies are together, all the fruit together, all the sauces together, etc. Plus I know what I have too. I was just looking through that vol 1 lcf cookbook. There are some great recipes in there.

Deb--we're having hot wings, blue cheese dip and leftover quiche and onion soup. I might make some cheese rounds and make some garlic cheesy bread with it too.

Deb....Steven will be in BIG trouble if this is how he treats his wives's BD some day! Maybe you should mention to him that when someone has a BD it is the nice thing to do, saying Happy Birthday along with a hug at the very least. I would think seeing his dad go to all the trouble for you on your BD he would be following in his dad's foot steps. Do you wonder how he would react if come his BD you said nothing or did nothing for him????
Deb...I was thinking the Nov. date was when the baby was due! When is peanut due?

kcmama.....your trip sounds as if you had a wonderful time!!!

So dh calls and tells me to find the title for the van. Someone is coming this afternoon to his work to see it. I search everywhere it shoudl be but nope, not title. I pull the stuff out of the big safe--nope. I don't know how to open the small safe so that will have to wait for him. I sure hope it's in there. GRRRRR So annoying.

I made a choc fudge pb pie. It's lc and looks good---not super lc but better than regular. It's made with PB2 and sf pudding mixes--one vanilla and one choc. I hope the boys like it.

Thanks, Deb! I'm happy that he is back to his playful self again. And, he is drinking and eating normally and not throwing up. He is a big fan of albacore tuna, so mommy got him some. Everything for my baby.

Miss Chewie, I have a question for you. Do you have any other hobbies besides cooking? Just curious

and cleaning and laundry don't count!

Yes, I like to read, sew a bit---mostly quilts and stuff like that and travel. I used to draw and write poetry but haven't done that in years.

It seems to me if I spent as much time in the kitchen as you do I would seriously hurt someone!

Please come organize mine, too! It ends up being a catch all for dog food, cat food, candles, cleaning products, paperwork, batteries, appliances, paper shredder, etc., etc.....I clean it every 3-4 months, but that's not enough.......

Two teenage boys will do that to you. My ds14 has already eaten twice today and he's ready for a third time now.

Chews, I wish I loved cooking as much as you do. Im a pretty decent cook, but i must admit for me it's a chore.

How did you develop a love for cooking? Did you always enjoy doing it since you were little? What was the first thing you remember cooking/making all by yourself?
