The great thing about the future is it is not set in stone! Be a positive force in her life and she will want you around I know it is hard but sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train!

Deb, not to sound corny or preachy, but I feel you have much to be happy and excited about. You are healthy, your family is healthy, one son a college grad, another - college bound. You have a home, a devoted husband, pets who love you, and now - a grandbaby on the way!

What I'm trying to say is ...chin up! Look at all the good you have in your life.

Deb....this is for you. It tells you what is going on with the baby weekly. Do you know that in the 5th week the baby has a heart beat? Bookmark it and check it out weekly. I did this with Layla. It's really interesting!

Have a good day, Deb and keep us posted...

Morning Sue..and anyone else who is up...what the heck is it with getting old and waking up early...it was 4:30 a.m...and I am tossing and turning...DBF is away..so, I don't sleep as well...but, still...I do this now and then...and wake up a zillion times a night..and dream the night away...so, it feels like I am not sleeping at all...my dreams are interesting..but, I never write them down so I don't remember them for long..or anything else..LOL

Have a lovely day! (DBF bought me new solar lights...and my patio is still glowing at 5 in the morning...I have too many lights I think..and he just got even more...I am going to have to wear "sunglasses at night"...lol...

Good morning and happy Friday. TGIF
Dreary and chilly---about 40 and wet. Not raining but blecky---all dark and gloomy.

I'm making the French Onion soup today.

Goal weight...... Well there is a big difference between what I want and what the doctor wants.

I want 140ish

Doctor wants 180ish. He said for my height and build that would be perfect. I think he is crazy

Lony---I kind of side with your doctor on that. You are 5'10" right? My goal is 140ish or so and I'm only 5'2"!!!!! I think you'd be too thin, jmho.

Wow, that's a really long time. I haven't had mine checked since we moved and now that's going on 9 years in June. My sight has gotten so bad I have those $1 reader glasses from the dollar store and have to use them on spices and directions and stuff. I guess that's what happens when you get old.

The Wilted cabbage recipe is a keeper. It was so good. If I had room, I would have eaten more. LOL

WILTED CABBAGE
Cut 1 large head of cabbage into quarters and discard the core and the large exterior leaves. Chop the quarters into 2 or 3 pieces, then separate the leaves. Wash and drain the cabbage leaves. In a large stock pot, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil over medium heat, add 1/2 lb. of smoked sausage or andouille sausage, 1 medium onion chopped, 3 stalks of celery chopped, 1/2 green bell pepper chopped, 4 cloves of diced garlic and 4 scallions, sliced. Saute for about 7 minutes, until the vegetables are wilted. Add cabbage to the pot and thoroughly blend into the vegetable mixture. Continue to stir fry the cabbage until the cabbage leaves are wilted. Add 1-1/2 cups of chicken stock and reduce heat to simmer. Cover pot and allow to cook for approximately 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season to taste with salt and pepper and continue cooking until cabbage is well smothered

I use those also! I have 4 pair. I can use any btwn 1.5-2.00 strength--just depends on how far away I want to hold the item I am trying to read or knit.....or sew Just had my eyes checked in Jan/Feb and for an old lady, I have great vision. Doc said he could give me an RX if I wanted but really readers are just fine for where I am at the moment. Yay!! Cuz, I like to buy cute/fun frames and coordinate them with my outfits. Can't afford to do that with Rx frames.
