My eyes are really good. I'm about to get my new glasses next week. Things are brighter - she said my vision is what it was when I was 16..........when I first got glasses for distance. Told her I wish I looked like I did when I was 16. And moved that way - wow - that would be so nice..........boy - when I dream - I dream big don't I?

It looked like a blizzard when I came home from work. It's not really snowing much, but the snow we still have was really drifting. I am so tired of winter. My granddaughter's school dismissed at 2:00 because it was so bad. Hope I can get to work tomorrow.

Sunday was a beautiful sunny day and the snow started melting. Later that evening the wind kicked up to 55 mph and the temp dropped quickly. Yesterday I went out with Fred and saw this ice... I guess that is what happens to water when it is blowing and freezing.

Thank you so much for the prayers ladies!!!!

The doctors dialated her eyes and they said she has a strong optic nerve. Since she has had it since birth they think it will gradually subside. She is going for 3 month check ups for a while.

The doctor said if she had suddenly started doing it then they would be doing the MRI's and CAT scans.

Such a huge weight off my shoulders!

So I told hubs about my no loss. He says yes but you say yourself how much more energy you have and how much better you are feeling. He is right. I'm just going to hang in there. I do wonder if being the wonderful old age that I am if I may have to cut back and watch the calories a little closer. Time will tell.
Melinda.....I think I will head on into the office.

Leg Cramps

Hi .. just wanted to say (from a few pages back) on the leg cramps where the doctor said his magnesium levels are ok.. magnesium is stored in the cells and only a limited amount in blood. ..so if the test was a blood test - well some people believe that is not a very accurate way to assess unless you've already reached a critical state. In fact you can have "normal" levels while your body is being robbed from the bones and other tissue to meet the bodies demands. There is a cellular test which is done by scraping with a tongue scraper under the tongue that is more "accurate" but it is also limited as your levels can vary depending on many factors at any point in time. However, testing isn't really necessary unless you are taking an extreme amount of supplemental of magnesium or have significant health issues.

Personally, he could just try to take some supplemental magnesium and see if it helps. Magnesium is usually well tolerated and probably should be balanced with a calcium-mag-zinc blend of supplement (take according to directions).

Magnesium deficiency is common with diabetics. If he is diabetic, has HBP, heart palpitations, cramping, etc. it may be worth a try to see if it helps.

You can also supplement with some food that tend to be higher in magnesium (but frankly our food nutrition sucks due to nutrients being stripped from farm soils). Pumpkins seeds are great (also has zinc). Sunflower, then other nuts, dark green leafies, grains (which I'd avoid for obvious reasons).

Anyway I just thought I'd put in my .02 cents for what it's worth. Supplementing helped my mom a lot with hers.

It's also been known to help with other vascular symptoms such as tingling of fingers/toes, etc.

Another thing if he is a diabetic and is experiencing some neuropathy symptoms there are new treatments that use some type of device to enhance blood flow to the lower extremities (rather like foot massage it looked like) might help.

Other things camamille (sp?) tea, and bilberry (relaxes vessels).

If you want some links for information let me know and I'll find some for you.

Ha! I remember trying them one year because I had seen them advertised so much. Fortunately for me, I couldn't stand them! I didn't need to add another candy to my "gotta have" list anyway. Now, Reese's PB eggs......

So, you have mentioned her and the trial 2 or 3 times. What is she on trial for? Haven't heard anything about her over here.
