It WILL get better. Be sure and read Today's Meditation. ![]() Terri....Lucky you. It SNOWED all day yesterday here. Lots of wind too. All the schools were closed yesterday and today and most businesses closed early yesterday. Not sure just how much we got, but somewhere between 8 & 10 inches. Hello all. I think I have been eating too much but I'm trying hard to stay on plan. They serve everything here with "chips" and peas. Hard to find just a salad. Last night I didn't feel like going out and had beef jerky and a protein bar for dinner.
Z- WTG on getting into the '70's. Krazycat- Congrats on your wonderful loss this past year! Cassidy- I am going to have to look at all my vitamins and supplement now and see if there are hidden carbs. Looks like you really did find a culprit,,,I am glad to see you drop those pounds. Terri- Hope the yucking feeling is over soon. Judy- Looking good! Zay- Hang in there and come and post every day,,,it helps!

I'm up to 25 pounds dumbbells for curls and presses, and 80 pounds for machine bench. Ran the cycle at level 10 for the first half mile, and backed it off to 8 (the level I've been running it at) for the second half mile. That was quite difficult. For the lateral lifts (lift arms straight out to the side), I've found that 15 pounds works the arms and shoulders, but 10 pounds works the trapezius better - so I'm doing 2 sets of each weight, starting with the heavier weight and working my way down so that my arms don't do the work for my back. Everything else I'm doing 3 sets of 8 - and I'm choosing my weight so that I can train to failure. I weigh the same today as yesterday, but when I'm on plan, and I work out, and see the same weight anyway - that's whoosh fuel. The weight is already gone, the scale just doesn't know it yet: Money in the bank.

I am so happy with my current weight, i hope it at least the same tomo. Sunday is my kryptonite though. And also i just suddenly come down with a cold . Just going to drink loads of water and rest lots to try and make myself feel better for tomo. I think my good weightloss this month is due to the fact ive accidentally been eating atkins induction for the last two weeks. I havent had any nuts at all. Normally when in the past i tried to do atkins induction i would fail due to eating and wanting nuts. Weird that it was quite easy this time though haha. x Last edited by focus83; 02-24-2013 at 01:07 AM.. |

You're knockin' em down one decade at a time - way to go, Focus!
It's easy to stay focused when you're getting results like that. Don't forget to graph out your progress - it's really helpful in putting "stalls" in perspective. |

Doing ok with food. I am eating at night I think from boredom rather than from hunger. So that stops today.
Focus- Good job staying away from the nuts! Z- What a great workout. You are going to be looking so fit and healthy. Judy- Here is what my 6 month weight loss looks like in a graph: ![]() When you look at it up close day by day it is all ups and downs. But when you look at 6 months like this you can see the downward trend so much better. Last edited by Phranquie; 02-24-2013 at 11:37 AM.. |

Hi all,
I would like to join you if I may? I weigh every morning. I dont loose every day, and my loss is slower than the last couple of times I have done this, but I am older now too, and I suspect your body gets used to weight loss methods and resists better. lol I had a pretty good loss yesterday, bringing my loss (started again on Jan 1st) to 24.2 pounds. Almost to that next milestone for me. So no change in weight today, which is normal for me. 2/24: 251.6 Good luck everyone this week!

Going to go to the store today and see if I can get some snacks to have during the day, so far I've just been eating my 3 meals. What do you guys eat as snacks? Welcome wyterayven! |

Eggs. lots of eggs.
Summer sausage. A modest amount of Cheese (~4 oz) Pot roast Steak Mushrooms, onions, and peppers sauteed in butter and served with eggs, pot roast, steak, and/or eggs. For me it comes down to eating until I am full. Grazing is a behavior that went away with eating to satisfy my hunger. Hunger doesn't make weight go away in a sustainable way - a corrected metabolism does. |

Quote:
B: 2 eggs and coffee L: tuna or chicken mixed w/mayo and some sort of small salad D: some sort of protein (usually hamburger or chicken) and a veg. I'm usually satisfied after I finished eating but will be hungry an hour or so before next meal or later in the evening. I know if I'm hungry then I start to look for something else to eat and since I don't really have "snack" type foods I feel I need to bring stuff into the house to help me out. |

I can't speak for you, so please understand that I'm speaking from a place of genuine concern, and it is not my intent to cast aspersions on your decisions but to express that concern in a supportive way. I might be totally off the mark, and if so, you are welcome to show me a finger of your choosing, and disregard the contents of this post.
I don't know you're height or your age, but taking a few educated, middle of the road guesses, I'd say your Basal Metabolism Rate sits right around 2050, plus or minus 100 calories. That's a measure of the number of calories you burn in a day, just staying alive. Now I could be vastly underestimating the size of your lunch and dinner, but based on the size of your breakfast (microscopic - especially if there's no butter in with those eggs), it doesn't look like you're getting anywhere near 2050 calories per day. I'd guess you're right between 800 and 1250 calories per day. If you eat that little, your body is going to hoard fat and burn muscle for energy. over time It'll make you ravenous for energy dense foods - often in the form of carby snacks. I can't stress this enough - This is strictly my experience, and not a criticism. I tried a few years ago to lose weight by living with a 900 calorie a day deficit. It worked for a month or two, but it simply wasn't sustainable. I lost 20 pounds, and regained 50 from the bounceback. Low Carb is not an energy balance WOE. It is a metabolic repair diet. Fix the metabolism, and the portions will correct themselves. Eat too little, no matter what diet you're on and your metabolism will shut down - the opposite of what you want. If you can't eat more in a sitting, I would recommend you add one or two more full meals to your schedule. If you're cutting carbs, you need to make sure you're getting enough fat. I hope others will chime in, and offer the benefit of their experience. At the end of the day, whatever path you choose, I applaud your efforts. |
