I wholeheartedly agree. I have been a fervent believer that the BMI scale is not exactly the holy grail for target weights. If I were the weight the BMI index says I should be, it would not be a pretty sight. There is so much more to your health and potential longevity than the scale. Too bad the insurance companies and many in the medical community don't see it that way!

Judy- Chinese buffets are the worst to try and stay LC, it is just about impossible. You'll dump that water weight in a couple of days and be back to losing.

A little heavier today, but I went bowling the other day, and there's a good deal of muscle cramps and bruising - I'm definitely retaining some fluid mass. Though I did bowl a 170 using a plastic house ball... That's a good score for me. I guess being 60 pounds lighter than the last time I tried to bowl makes a bit of a difference... ;^)

I agree, Frankie. That's why I seldom go to the Chinese Buffet. I don't even try to be good, although all the things I really like are the least damaging. Yesterday was "Fat Tuesday." Went to see the movie "Lincoln" and had popcorn for the first time in a couple of years, and it wasn't as good as I remembered. Now that I've decided to give up eating out for Lent, hopefully, I'll see a significant drop by Easter.

2/13 - 282.8 - crushed the weights last night. Pushed the stationary bike up to resistance level 7. Sore as heck today. It's worth it. Got woken up early for an unanticipated meeting... didn't have time for "breakfast", so I had to order pizza (only thing that delivers this time of night)

Did I mention that I'm only eating the toppings? Triple pepperoni, triple sausage, triple salami.

Thanks, Focus - looks like you're moving in the right direction too! Keep to plan, and you'll be looking back at three bills from the other side. I think I must have sat just above for a few weeks... Drove me nuts, but I got there eventually. It's always so exciting to hit the big goals.

Thanks for the encouragement! i think my biggest challenge is adding exercise to my lifestyle. To be honest im the type of person that walking is a chore but as the lbs come off I having more energy and i really want to get better results. Wish me luck. Have a good day x

I understand. As recently as September, I couldn't be on my feet for more than 10 minutes at a time. Do what you can, as you can do it. Ramp it up, little by little. Every little bit is a stepping stone.

You're already on the right path - your persistence will be the key.

Z- Really nice loss and way to go with just eating the toppings. I wonder if your pizza place would make you a pan of just the toppings? Might even save a few bucks if they agreed to do that.

Focus- I have to admit that am not a good person as far as exercise. I just walk a little bit. I have been targeting my eating and behaviors with food the last 7 months. At over 325lbs and being 5'-3", I just felt awkward and not well balanced until recently. Weight loss can happen without tons of exercise if you stick to a good LC plan, so don't beat yourself up about it right now. Exercise when you can, a little at a time and you will gain endurance to do more. I am just now at the point where I want and need to exercise regularly to get muscle tone and start to get definition.
