Chewie, I think it's the crazy weather changes we've been having. Plus all the kiddies coughing and sneezing all over the place.

Ok so my friend.. she was living here.. until the 1994 earthquake and moved 200 miles away to where her mother was...just called and emailed me that she was taken to the hosp for Heart Failure, her blood pressure and sugar was sky high and so was her cholesterol.... and she said that it wasn't as bad as they first thought, after the EKG.. but she said to me, you know Mel, my father died of the heart disease and as you know my mother from Diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol...she said why didn't I take care of myself properly.. boy that is a slap in my face to wake up already and start doing what I need to be doing..so I am going to call her now...but it has me thinking now for the past 2 days...

Thanks for the great idea Eliza! I just made myself some cinnamon flavored herbal tea with a bit of cream and a new sweetener called Nutresse (sp?). It's made with erythrotol and monk fruit.

play went really well! Ken and i went to last nights showing and Steven got 2 free tickets for being in the play so we saved 20 dollars as well! i loved it Ken liked it but his hearing aide went out half way through and he didn't so so well with Shakespearean English anyways i was telling him what was going on before but after his battery died it wasn't any use
6 kids from his high school drama class came to watch him! whoohoo! he was really pleased about that and i actually saw him TALKING to them after the play at the "meet and greet" they hold afterwards he is there for the afternoon showing now and i think he has 3 more days this week and then it is over he has enjoyed it soo much that in spite of the late nights and gas etc i am really sad it will be over

Deviled eggs are deviled, mushrooms are stuffed and the cheesy bread is made. Phew! Dh is doing the chicken dish and we decided to try quinoa---never had it and I've always wanted to try it. I still have to frost the cupcakes but the frosting needs more time to set up in the frig.

Deb, how exciting! I'm sure that even though Ken couldn't hear half of it, it meant a lot to him to be there for his boy.

We really like this recipe for bread. I use the muffin top pan and get 6. Today I didn't put the topping on them. And I skipped the baking powder---doesn't really do anything.
"Everything Bagels” Makes 6 bagels. Dry: Mix these together ½ cup ground flaxmeal (I prefer golden) ¼ cup almond flour 1 ½ tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. dry ranch powder 1/4 tsp. each garlic and onion powder 2 T. parmesan cheese (green can) a pinch of salt Wet: Mix these together: 3 eggs (I use jumbo) 3 T. oil ½ cup shredded mozz cheddar Preheat oven to 350. Add dry ingredients to wet, stirring to blend. Let sit for 5 minutes. Divide batter evenly into a greased or sprayed muffin top pan. “Everything” Topping: (I don’t measure, but just sprinkle on a little bit of each of the following: dehydrated onion and garlic flakes, kosher or sea salt, poppy and sesame seeds. Bake in muffin top pan at 350 for 12-14 minutes. The basic bread is 1 carb per bun.

Also like these but much higherr in calorie.
LV2SUN'S ALMOND CHEESE ROUNDS Makes 6 servings 4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (1 cup) 3 ounces almond flour (1 cup) 2 tablespoons butter, softened 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon salt Mix all of the ingredients well with a spoon until they form a soft dough. Divide between 6 muffin top pans and press to make flat rounds. Bake at 350º about 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Best served while still warm from the oven. Per Serving: 205 Calories; 18g Fat; 9g Protein; 3.5g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 1.5g Net Carbs They have a crunchy, cheesy biscuit texture that would go very nicely with chili or soup. They also make a nice snack. They remind me somewhat of Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay biscuits but better because they're more cheesy and not as dry. I think if you put a basket of these on the dinner table even non-low carbers would gobble them up. |

Dudes, I'm coloring my hair with that semi-permanent dye I got at Sally's. it's supposed to be a dark rich brown, but came out of the bottle swamp green, like pond scum
And because its not a cream (to which I'm used) it caused a huge mess. My hands, even though I wore gloves, my neck, ears, forehead, etc., all pond scum green! I cleaned up as much as I could with baby wipes. Now the dye is "cooking". Another 12 min to go. Will let you know how it all came out. For all I know, I could come out looking that Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street. Or, with my body shape...more like The Hulk! ![]()
