Sad to say I have yet to find a greek salad out here that I love..compared to back home..although, I did find one in Vegas at the "Sugar Factory" that was almost perfect...it was a chopped one...I just love the ones back east that you can stuff in a fresh pita bread...have to stop know before I start to drool..LOL

Deb...good luck to Stephen tonight!

Second pizza crust is done. They both look good. I had to make Quiz's better than flour mix though--x 12 but now I have a big bag.

I've discovered that if I don't count the carbs I don't even know if I'm eating LC because of carb creep and my ending up eating too many carbs, like over 40.

Which happens more often than not That's my life. Carbs add up so quickly when you start counting them.

Deb, how exciting about Steven's performance! I would wanna say break a leg but have always been afraid to say it lest it actually happens. Superstitious. Wishing him the very best experience performing!

I love the watermelon salad recipe. I would have to leave the mint off I think. For some reason I can't make myself put mint in recipes. I think it is a childhood thing. I do remember going over to my grandmothers and picking a leave of her mint and I loved the smell of it.

I made some hamburger/turkey veggie soup today with the left over meat from a day ago. I figure it will make a good lunch tomorrow.

Ok...here is my eating menu for the day.

B-2 egg omelet with 2 bacons, 1 turkey patty, mushrooms slice of orange, and of course coffee.
L-tuna with cottage cheese, red pepper hummus w/veggie sticks, hot tea
S-pepperoni chips (see what you made me do) water
D-stuffed peppers (beef, onions, black beans, taco sauce, cheese) Mock pumpkin pie, coffee.
S-I am hoping I can get by without it. I am working at trying not to eat after supper (DINNER) for you fancy folks. If I feel I have to have something maybe a boiled egg.
Great job, Sue!

Do you know how many carbs in the hummus? All that hummus talk has made me drool over the thought of it, and red pepper hummus sounds absolutely delicious!

Oh yeah, you'd set a start date of Feb. 20th......Always fondly remember the board where your DH had written all the delish stuff he wanted to have that was not LC.

break a leg is fine just don't say the Scottish play title or the G L phrase
Steven is so bad about the Scottish play that he wouldn't even say it in English class and the other students had to explain to the teacher why LOL

Come around May we will be able to get good melons from Mexico here.
We don't get them local until mid July or later here. I did buy a melon at Christmas and I had to dupe it. It was one of those tiny ones. Little Eli loves them and I had bought it for our Christmas breakfast. Come Spring I will be ready again for some fresh fruit!
It used to be like wearing white shoes after Labor Day with melons. You ate them only in the summer season. Now you can almost find one in the store anytime. I am just really leery or them at the price they want.
SAMs has a nice big 2lb chunk of feta for a very reasonable price. A block, not those pathetic little crumbles they sell at the price of gold.

Time to go start dinner....

It was storming and in the 40s around 9, then, by 12 noon it was in the mid 60s. Texas! All the sudden temperature changes are making everyone sick. And to add the allergies to that....wild!

ELIZA found this

Quote:
To "break the leg" or "break a leg" is archaic slang for bowing or curtsying; placing one foot behind the other and bending at the knee "breaks" the line of the leg. In theatre, pleased audiences may applaud for an extended time allowing the cast to take multiple curtain calls, bowing to the audience
so it means do so good you have to make a ton of curtain calls! sounds grreat to me! perfect for a Shakespeare play!
or
Quote:
Or, some would have it that the term originated during Elizabethan times when, instead of applause the audience would bang their chairs on the ground—and if they liked it enough, the leg of the chair would break
yeah melinda i worry over both my boys and Kids i know that aren't even mine
wish i really knew how to lessen it a little
