Chewie do you happen to make hummus? If so do you have a good, easy recipe for it? At some point I want to make some. It has to be cheaper by far making it. If anyone has a recipe let me know. If not I'll be hitting the net to find some.
Melinda....I can smell that meat loaf from here!! I love the smell of it when it is cooking! It's comfort food at its best. Well now wait....chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and homemade white gravy would be the best!! Sorry...food porn thought crept into my head once again!![]() |

For some reason thought of you when I saw this, Melinda...
Watermelon Salad with Feta and Mint Ingredients: 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil 3 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 2 teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon tabasco 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 1 8-pound seedless watermelon, scooped into balls with a melon baller or cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks 10 cups chilled 1/2 pound feta cheese, crumbled 2 cups 1 1/4 cup pitted Kalamata olives, coarsely chopped optional 1 small sweet onion, cut into 1/2-inch dice 1 cup coarsely chopped mint leaves Directions 1. In a large bowl, whisk the oil, lemon juice, salt, Tabasco and pepper. Add the watermelon, feta, olives and onion and toss gently. Garnish with the mint and serve. I am guessing you will want to skip the Tabasco...

We didn't start LC yet. I know, bad! I need to hit up town and do some shopping first and I've been too lazy. |

Has anyone made the pizza using cauliflower as the crust? I have the recipe but I have never tried it. I was thinking it might be good to try this weekend.
If you have made it did you like it and was it easy to make? |

OMG....lucky, I just now figured out who you are!!!!!! I know you from FB and Pintrest!!!! I saw your snow pictures and I thought....I've seen those today!!
It's nice knowing why you are!!!!![]() I love the watermelon salad recipe. I would have to leave the mint off I think. For some reason I can't make myself put mint in recipes. I think it is a childhood thing. I do remember going over to my grandmothers and picking a leave of her mint and I loved the smell of it. I made some hamburger/turkey veggie soup today with the left over meat from a day ago. I figure it will make a good lunch tomorrow. Ok...here is my eating menu for the day. B-2 egg omelet with 2 bacons, 1 turkey patty, mushrooms slice of orange, and of course coffee. L-tuna with cottage cheese, red pepper hummus w/veggie sticks, hot tea S-pepperoni chips (see what you made me do) water D-stuffed peppers (beef, onions, black beans, taco sauce, cheese) Mock pumpkin pie, coffee. S-I am hoping I can get by without it. I am working at trying not to eat after supper (DINNER) for you fancy folks. If I feel I have to have something maybe a boiled egg. |

![]() What is Tahini? It seems I read a recipe for hummus and it called for Tahini and gave a sub you could use if you didn't have it. Now I forget what the sub was. Maybe it was garlic??????? |

Tahini is ground sesame seeds...you can get that at the tall woman's site too..LOL..I did browse some hummus recipe's...there are about a zillion..but, most are very simple..depends on your taste...many include garlic...it is rather addictive. I just got sick of cleaning my food processor...that and the fact I couldn't stop eating it...LOL

Come around May we will be able to get good melons from Mexico here. We don't get them local until mid July or later here. I did buy a melon at Christmas and I had to dupe it. It was one of those tiny ones. Little Eli loves them and I had bought it for our Christmas breakfast. Come Spring I will be ready again for some fresh fruit! It used to be like wearing white shoes after Labor Day with melons. You ate them only in the summer season. Now you can almost find one in the store anytime. I am just really leery or them at the price they want. |

I have bought a hummus dip at the store that is spicy hot and it is SO good. I have to be careful and measure it out or I could just eat the whole container easy.

garbanazo...knew I was spelling that wrong...or..we could just call them chickpeas..
Yes..lots of store's carry numerous hummus dips...that's why I started making my own..it was so much less expensive and probably healthier than store bought..however, when you have a lot...it's easier to eat a lot...now I am craving hummus and feta...LOL...neither of which I have. |

Hummus is very easy. I prefer it with garlic, lemon juice, spices and sometimes roasted red peppers--grind it all up.
