Focus--low carb stopped working for me and I finally had weight loss urgery on Dec 3. My health was suffering too much and I was really in a bad way. Many people do need to count calories and watch portions too.

Good morning girls and happy Thursday. Time for me to get going, work awaits.
Chewie and Lucky, stay safe! Chews, if I were you I'd keep DS home and off those slick roads. Focus, hang in there. 1,000 cal at our weight is like semi-starvation mode which is bad for our metabolism. |

Eliza--normally I would but he's had too many days out this year---sprained ankle, strep throat. I'm not afraid to drive him but I am afraid of the other drivers. LOL
Now I'm showered and dressed and ready to go. Had to reset my alarm for 7:30 for dh==he's working O.T. today. |

Hi Sue. I think I'm going to make lc pizza for dinner. I've seen some new lc crust recipes floating around. My kids will like that plus I don't have any meat thawed anyway.

Good Morning Ladies....
SUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. Thank you but it's a mere spit in the ocean I am so serious....I too have to figure out what is for dinner as well.. this cooking thing is getting old.. I have to go to Walfarts to pick up the monthly Medicines...so I am hoping for something marked down.. I am thinking maybe of some chicken parm...but that entails me some real cooking LOLOL!! Focus.. At first Low carb was great.. but about a month later,. I had to watch calories too..when people would say oh I eat till I am satisfied and the I had 12 chicken wings, boy that didn't work for me.. so I had to watch my calorie intake...I never did it by a number though...but now I switched to Weight Watchers...and you can eat what you want...you just have to fall between a certain amount of points.. so it gives me the sense of a correct portion size, rather than the eat till you satisfied... cause someone like me can eat till pigs fly....sorry for the long response...I am still sleeping LOL... Chewie.. Feel better...Its 5:30 right now.. and I see the ice on top of my car.. which means I gotta go out there with water..I don't feel like it.. but I have to... Mona.. Good Morning.....how has your staycation been?? Elizakins.. Hope your feeling better and that you have a great day.. Well since I am going to Walfarts I am going to pray there are meat markdowns...and that I can get a descent parking place... this store is the worse on the weekdays... |

Chewie Mike is doing great, thank you so much for asking. We are getting ready to head out for our Valentines day trip. Fred is going to the doggie spa at 11 and then we have a 3 hour drive to Billings.
Kcmama I am glad you have snow! We were susposed to get snow today but the sun is shining and the roads are clear. Someone upstairs wants me to have a relaxing soak in a giant tub. ![]() |

Wow-it's pouring down buckets and hail right now. It is so noisy!!! LOL Lights keep flickering too. I'm glad I came in extra early. Tummy still hurts. Maybe I should have my protein shake now.

It just started snowing here. I feel less guilty for staying home from work. I have a turkey breast out to cook while I am off. I don't have any celery for dressing, so my husband decided to run into town (7 miles away) to get some. I tried to convince him I would add extra onion, but that didn't suit him. He should be home before the roads get too bad. I have been hearing thunder for quite some time now.
Lony, have fun on your weekend. I bought a knockoff doll to try the clothes I had crocheted on and found some didn't fit. I am going to crochet like crazy today. |

I think the snow/sheet/rain is over for here!
I've been surfing around on the board looking at recipes and bugging Melinda by sending them to her! ![]() I have a couple of cans of pumpkins in the cabinet so I think I will go make a crustless LC pumpkin pie. I'm still working on what to fix for this evening. |

I just ran across this recipe that might be good for those of you with kids. I wonder if you could sub the oats with something else like almond flour maybe? It only has a 1/4 cup of oats in the recipe so I wouldn't think that would do any damage to those who are doing LC.
Peanut butter ricotta cookies Ingredients Makes 5 cookies (1 serving) 50 calories per cookie 1 tbsp natural peanut butter 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats 1/4 cup reduced-fat ricotta cheese 2 packets (or to taste) Stevia 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp flaxseed 1 egg white Dash of cinnamon Directions Preheat oven to 350°F degrees. Line pan with parchment paper. Mix everything together with a fork, pressing to mash ricotta cheese. Spoon 5 cookies onto pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until tops of cookies start to brown. |
