Newbie here but I have a question and I am not sure where to post it. The question is if my Keto sticks show that I consistently in ketosis, why isn't my scale moving? I started Atkins in the middle of January, I only weigh on a weekly basis because when I did this diet before I only worried about keeping the pee sticks some shade of pink or purple and it worked perfect. I lost almost 100 lbs in 90 days! Now, some 8 years later I am coming back to work on losing more weight and the old system just isn't working - at least according to my scales, but my clothes feel different and I am experiencing fewer aches and pains than before I started so something is happening! I even went out and purchased a new scale because I thought the other one might be broken, but the new one is even more disappointing because it says that I have only lost 5 lbs since starting where the old one says I have lost a little more than 10.

Any advice or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I know in other threads some have had the same situation. The advice was to take your measurements in various places-- waist, hips, bust, thigh, calf, upper arm. If you are seeing changes in body shape and clothing sizes then keep doing what you are doing. If there is no change on the scale or in body mass then perhaps you need to look at what you are eating. Too many carbs? Too much protein? Not enough calories? Not enough water? etc. How much water are you drinking?

And Yay on feeling better! Hopefully some of the others will chime in with some good tips for you.

Well that was a huge waste of time. No sergers in the city of Sheridan. Oh I take that back, they had one display at walmart but they would not give me a discount and they didn't have the paperwork so I passed.

Each scale weighs different so it sounds like you've lost 10 pounds since mid-January if you count the start weight of your original scale? That is pretty awesome!! If you don't mind me asking, what is your weight now, because when you are smaller you will not see those huge losses like when you lost 100 pounds in 3 months. You are most likely in the post-induction stall. It happens to me week 3 and 4. I will not lose and sometimes even put on a couple pounds. You will start losing again if you just stick to it. Your body is going thru shock!

I just got home a little while ago. I went to Target after my appointment....and darnit! I keep forgetting I have gift cards to use. Got DH a VDay card and some fun little gifts. Oh, and some cat toys.

Appointment went well. I like this substitute doctor a lot better. LOL. He got it right away....we need to stop my BP from spiking all the time. He increased one of my meds and I have a follow up appt. in 3 weeks. I got a really good vibe from him. My regular doctor just keeps telling me to watch what I eat, eat very low sodium, don't eat processed foods......I just don't think she is living in the real world. I need help NOW with these BP spikes I'm having. "New Doc" said that sudden BP spikes can be caused by an adrenal gland tumor.....but let's hope it's not that. Hopefully this med increase will work.....and there is a 2nd med that we can fiddle with too.

Lony I'm sorry you couldn't find a serger.

Well, glad you got the battery situation resolved. Bummer that Ken forgot his cell and, more importantly, his license. Hope the rest of his night goes smoothly.
