2. so I don't delete photos of me or avoid getting my picture taken
3. so I don't feel like everyone is judging me
4. so I don't feel like I am a blob

1. Being able to show up to family and friends' events without worrying that I look fat in what I am wearing.
2. Losing the amusement park seat/plane seat embarrassment fear.
3. Dressing how I want to dress, not just wearing what fits.
4. Not feeling like I am wasting my youth being fat and unable to do a lot of activities.
5. The desire to feel physically strong and in control.

@Bella- I completely agree about photos. I HATE getting photo tagged on Facebook. Almost invariably it's a hunched over belly flab shot.

OK, I thought of another one. So I don't lose things in my rolls (remote, ecig, phone) and then when I stand up it falls. Oh, and remotes? Why do they never just fall? They have to explode into pieces, and the batteries have to roll off in all different directions under the furniture.
Just thought of another one. So I can bend over to look under the furniture for the batteries when the remote explodes.

Why I want to lose weight and Be Fit

1) I want to hike along the coast and take photos of sunrises, sunsets, waves and birds!

2) I want to move pain-free, wind-free and tired-free.

3) I want to go swimming.

4) I want to travel.

5) I want to be able to shop for clothes at the regular clothing stores!

Bella- I'm going to the doctor today, and I'm even more frightened about being weighed and scolded than I am about the exam!

1. Because I'm tired of being the "fat friend" that only gets to tell everyone else how good they look when we shop.

2. Because we're celebrating baby girl's first birthday at Disney in October, and I don't want to feel like I'm squashed and cutting myself in two on a four hour plane ride.

3. Because I'm also tired of being the only fat chick in the State of Colorado, or at least being made to feel that way.

4. Because the 60 lbs I gained after my divorce seven years ago are a painful reminder of what I went through, and NOT worth it.

5. Because the haters say I won't. Don't ever, EVER tell me I won't.

1. Because I am ready to be on the front lines of my own life instead of at home, waiting to see the results, and be the star of my own show instead of the funny, fat sidekick.

2. I want to have babies and be around for a long time to see them grow and become the people they are destined to be, full of health and joy!

3. I want to be an example to people I know (and those I don't even know) that there is nothing impossible for people who are fighting an uphill battle!

4. To be able to do anything I want to do whenever I want to do it with no concern for whether I can or not.

5. To change the looks I get when I walk into a room from disdain or disgust to
admiration and excitement.

I have a #6!

6. To increase my self-respect!

My reasons it is not about to lose weight but about to be healthy

1. I do not want to overeat myself = damage my self-esteem

2. I want to share my life with somebody and how somebody could love me if I do not love myself.

3. I want to be myself, overeating works as a drug it changes reality, I do not want to cover problems by food but I want sort them.

4. I want to be healthy

5. I want to enjoy food it about if I eat under control I enjoy tasty food

1. To get healthy and be fit as I age. You just don't see many really obese older people because obese people die young.

It is what I like, we do not have to be ashamed of what we do ourself. Regarding the seat belts in planes, they should be done that everybody can use them comfortable.

I think if somebody is ashamed of how I look, it is his/her problem. But I believe that you want to be a good parent and if you are overweight you try to sort it out.

I agree with you that reframing our words is a good idea - that the reasons we want to lose weight is to be happy, healthy, because we care about ourselves...

Your comment gave me pause this morning as I was going to get on here this morning as I was frustrated that I am overeating again instead of eating for wellness...

I need to reframe how I even think about losing weight. I'm losing weight because I care about myself and want to be happy... and this will be a challenge to think this way but I will starting today and take it one day at a time.

Hi Ak Laura

I thank you very much for your post.
Take it one day at a time. I wish you success.

She's never mentioned anything but I think it might be true. It's not her fault. I don't blame her. She loves me.

My reasons are: To be able live without someone pushing me in a wheelchair or just sitting at home.

Not to go on diabetes meds and to get off the 14 meds I take twice a day.

To be able to go back to church every sunday and to serve in church like I use to with the youth and food ministry.

To spend more time with my 11 grandbabies.
