Good morning everyone. Welcome Dawn
I gained a lb from yesterday. I ate too much last night. I had wings, stuffed mushrooms, and 2 cookies. I did ok until the cookies. My granddaughter insisted I take a bite of hers and then I gave in. I am doing so crappy this time around. |

Welcome Dawn
Jazlyn - you won't have put on a pound of fat from 2 cookies, it will just be water retention from the salt in them (and probably some of the other superbowl food!) so don't beat yourself up! Just make sure you drink plenty of water today and it will be gone by tomorrow i'm sure Did my second day with Chalean today....I'm already growing into the habit of shouting and swearing at her through the pain! People in the gym will think I'm crazy! Hope you all have a good day! |

Thank you for the welcome!
Just got home from work, and too tired to do anything elaborate for dinner, so just had eggs and bacon. Thats what I had for breakfast...:-/ But at least the calories are low. lol The scale moved down a pound this morning...hope it continues for a nice loss this week. It has been rather slow this time around. Hope everyone is doing Well! |

Hi everyone. I thought I would have gained several pounds over the weekend because of all the fun I had, but I'm happy to report I am at 240 today which is 1 pound less than Friday!
Have a great week! |

Congrats on your losses Monica and Dawn! Such good news!
Feeling good today, mixing up the food a bit - I put some chillies and some ginger into the steamer with the vegetables and it was delicious! I have stopped counting how many days I have been "dieting" now because it has just become a natural way of life now. I don't want to ever go back to scoffing sugar all day long! My boyfriend is a very skinny sugar junky and just watching him crash afterwards makes me feel much better about being low carb!! Hope you all have a great day! You're all doing so well! |

My husband used to be a sugar junkie. He used to drink a 6 pack of coke and eat part of a back of Costco M&Ms in an evening.
The end result is he is now diabetic. Sugar is dangerous stuff. Yesterday and today all I have had is eggs and bacon. I have been working so late there isnt time to make a regular dinner. So my calories have been low as well. I am hoping I wont have as much OT tomorrow, but we'll see what the work load is like. Im hoping I at least get a loss out of it. lol

Dawn - perhaps you should take some healthy snacks like nuts to work, otherwise your body will just go into starvation mode and you won't lose much weight other than muscle or water weight. I love pistachios but they are probably a bit noisy/messy for work! I passed on the message about getting diabetic to my boyfriend and he's going to try to reduce the number of packets of sweets he has in one go!
Today I did one of my workout dvds and wasn't tired by the end of it and so added another half of one on top. 5 days ago, I barely managed one and felt exhausted the next day! Obviously it's helping my fitness even if I don't know if it's helping my weight! I might weigh in on Friday, but I don't know how much attention I will pay it as I know I'm gaining muscle. I'm gonna be so butch until I actually lose some fat!! |

Thanks Sarah! I do plan on adding some snacks, or at least keeping something there so that when I work late like that I have something I can eat.
Tonight I came home on time and am getting dinner ready now. Tomorrow will probably be a later night. Part of my problem is that I really would like to stay at 9-12 carbs....and nuts have more carbs than I would like...but if I am having eggs when I get home, I probably can afford them |

I am always looking for quick and easy meals especially for when I work late. I love casserole type things, but havent seen many low carb options.
Does anyone have any favorite, quick and easy recipes they would like to share? |

My husband is a sweet junkie also and he developed diabetes. It was a wake up call to him. I have to remind him that carbs turn into sugar.
Dawn, I have a recipe for cheese crust pizza if you are interested. Actually it's Linda Sue's recipe. I could post it or you could look it up. |

I've tried a bunch of Linda Sue's recipes, I have really liked almost everyone of them! My families favorite is the Sheppard's Pie - it really is yummy!

There are so many variations for it.....I think I can make breakfast sandwiches with it, hamburger buns, chocolate "cake". I think they are going to be more of a staple....I think I can get away with them a couple of times a week which will make a good break from my normal breakfast of sausage links. |

Bah...I have worked 12 hours almost every day this week and was informed today that I have to work this weekend too.
I have tried some of Linda Sue's recipes..but to be honest, I havent loved any of them. I will keep trying them...but it will have to wait until I actually have time to cook. Have lost 2.4 pounds this week. My usual weigh in is tomorrow, but not sure I'll get it recorded tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great weekend! |

I remember when I was losing my weight I would get overwhelmed with the sheer AMOUNT I needed to lose. It helps when you think of it in "chunks" and not as the whole number.

I have been allowing myself some cheats and am not happy with myself. I am back and ready to get on with my journey. I know that coming to these boards and posting really helps.

Congratulations Winifred! Good luck with your appointment.....my mother has had both knees replaced due to rheumatoid arthritis she's had since she was in her 20's....she's actually had alot of joints replaced.....knock on wood but I seem to be the only female in the family that doesn't have RA....and since I went gluten free I no longer have ANY of the joint pain I did have!
