Mary, it sounds as though you are doing what you need to do for yourself.

Teresa, how is it going for you?? I just offered a link to another thread if anyone was interested, not to step on any toes Any place I can discuss what is going on is beneficial for me.

My pattern is to share a lot when things are going well, and not share and hide when I don't things are going so well. Now that I am not concentrating on the weight so much and only trying to eat when physically hungry after I awaken is going pretty well. I am not too crazy with what I eat after that, but, one step at a time. Eventually I hope to eat only when physically hungry all of the time. Well, maybe the "only" and "all" words are too restrictive. LOL, anyways, you know what I mean.

In case you haven't been on other threads I post on, I spent the day at the hospital yesterday having tests and I DO NOT have cancer!!! It has been a rough few days but , praise the Lord, I am fine. Another good thing came out of the docs visit on Wed, my BP was 94/ 66 and she took me off one of my two blood pressure pills. Just another proof that this is a healthy way of eating!

Coffee with friends, farmer's market, baking pie (healthy LC), computer and then studying. Later, dinner with friends. What a way to spend a Saturday. Overcast here and decent temp.

We went to a friends place last night for supper and I took a Key Lime Pie recipe from Healthy Indulgences and it was a hit. I have made low carb desserts before with minimal success. I also made black bean brownies from Meal Planning Maven.

Tonight, steak on the grill and Asian green beans.

Ugh! I wish I could grill! We live in an apartment complex and they dont alow grills of any kind. Sigh....oh well.

I am continuing to be mindful with my eating and waiting for the first sign of hunger to eat. I was waiting a while after hunger and my therapist was aghast that I was waiting too long. She told me as soon as I felt "empty" to eat. She also said I probably wasn't eating enough at a meal which led me to the snacking in between. Nothing is off limits right now. The difficulty is trying to decide what I AM hungry for. Yesterday for lunch I had 3 small baked potatoes topped with cottage cheese, salsa and jalepenos. YUMMY. I am also reading Intuitive Eating which is helping me to break the diet cycle.

Vicki, Did she ask yiu to identify emotions you are "hungry" for? Or thirsty for? In the beginning I found I was actually thirsty so I kept bottles of water everywhere.

Are you keeping a list of foods you tend to binge on? And foods that are bridge foods that tend to lead you to binge? For me, when I eat PB, I know I am headed for trouble. It is a bridge food for me.

Now when I am hungry, I write about what I was feeling in the hours, days and weeks before the bunge. Was I resentful, angry, sad, selfish or afraid of something or someone? You can put any emotion in there. Lots of times fear is at the root of it all.

I am also a compulsive eater. I love to eat even when I know I am harming myself. I was never bulimic though. I can eat to the point of being full, wait a while, then eat some more. Thank God I haven't engaged in that for 2 yrs. it is one of the reasons why I measure and weigh the portions...because my head & stomach don't know how much is enough to eat. There is no off switch.

Good luck in your research. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for way too long. Vacation, kid's football conditioning, remodeling my kitchen. No excuses for not taking a couple of minutes to read and post though.

I have been doing water aerobics 3 times a week and hitting the gym a couple of days a week and have also been on LC. I drink a lot of water but am going to drink more. I am going to cut down on coffee and eventually try to stop. I don't know what else to do. Maybe I need to try something besides LC. I have been at this weight FOREVER. Up and down a little but I always seem to land in the same spot. I guess it's better than gaining everything back but I'm getting depressed about the whole matter.

Mary, no, she isn't having me journal right now. Just listening to body hunger. Although, I did snack today and that was after I missed several questions on a mock exam similar to what I am taking on Friday. I have already identified my fear and frustration on that. Fear of failing, wasting someone elses money and fear of what others will think if I don't pass the exam.

Mary- I am the same with PB. I haven't had any since I started and I'm afraid to eat any. I love it; anyway served I can eat it. Love sandwiches with a tall glass of cold milk, PBJ, PB cookies, candy, ice cream, fudge and right out of the jar. That was my sneak food. I would get up out of bed and eat two PB sandwiches with milk.

Hi Winifred, glad it is starting to make sense. Call if you need support or want to talk. It is a We program and we can't do this on our own. That is part of why LCF was first started years ago, as a service to other Atkins followers. Now it is all-inclusive of nearly all low carb food plans.

Hi All! Hoping your day is going well.

There has been so much negativity in my life today. The last couple of weeks have been a ball of stress and all I want is to scream at people to leave me alone.

Interestingly I have always been an emotional eater, but somehow my WOE has taught me that there is a better way to get rid of the emotions. I just finished journaling and it felt very cathartic. I'm still frustrated, but I didn't feel the need to eat a whole pie.

Progress is slow, but at least it's there.

I am pretty depressed. I went to the parent's meeting for football and I was the heaviest one there by far. I'm talking all of the football moms are sticks. I felt terrible.
