hello all

Hello all,

I am new. I check this post very often to see how others are doing all the time. I think adding my information here might inspire me a little bit more to really reduce the numbers my scale so matter-of-factly displays each morning. I weigh every morning at 4:30 am so that my weight is lower due to dehydration (helps my state of mind). Here are my numbers so far for January 2013:

I started low carb in November 2012, but made mistakes eating too many carbs...was eating peanut butter every day on top of chewing many pieces of sugarless gum not realizing that sugar alcohols count as carbs, too. I am very diligent now keeping my carbs under 20g per day, but I am still overeating and not exercising enough. I don't crave sweets, though, so that is good. Only cheated on my diet once so far this month, so if i can keep that up and stop overeating, my weight might really start dropping.

I won't touch the canned stuff evermore... but I was able to fit into size 16 jeans at the Gap Outlet today... I used to be a size 18

Thank you, Danielle I can only say that my sodium consumption over the past few days has been out of this world...and, of course, I've totally neglected my water intake (spiked eggnog and tea apparently does nothing for flushing out excess sodium...who knew?).

Apparently I've not done enough with water either, even though my eyeballs are floating ...and yesterday was a higher sodium day than I had planned..

It's a dramatic looking number, but because I slept in for an extra 5 hours this morning, it's unrealistic (unless I intend to starve myself all week in order to keep that number looking awesome).

I expect to return to the 293-294 range tomorow. Or, maybe somehow I'll just get lucky and get to keep my progress. it's never happened before, but I'm going for a walk because I could really use a good weight week.

Holy smokes - I never realized how close our weight was, Zay. Congrats on the big drop! You're totally smoking me this month - especially when you consider that you've caught up with me even though I started with a 7 pound head start (plus the other 5 that I lost in the interim).

Kali, what are you doing now that is different - 10 lbs in 10 days?

Z - I'm doing Intermittent fasting now - one meal (filling, satisfying with dessert) per day equals less calories. I really like it and I'm losing consistently.
