Ok so here is my story, so you all know last Monday it took 7 tries for my car to start..I would turn it on and it would make that sound but never connect to turn on.. sorry for the description but I am not a car person...I was going to take it in last Tues.. but the car was fine afterwards...Here comes Saturday, hubs and I pop in the car and it took 3 times, for the car to start, so my hubs said Melinda you have to take this into the mechanic.. ok ok I will...so I have been up almost all night...TOM has arrived and he has come full force and I have been up every hour and it's been major...so I said ok I will take it in tomorrow morning.. so I throw on a dress from the 80's with the shoulder pads yet OMG.. hair in a ponytail... no combing..and a bra that should have been throw away back in the 80's it's big and stretched.. so I deposit my wallet on left side of the bra and phone on the right side, as per usual.. so we go to the car.. my son is mad about something to do with his homework and the teacher is out today with stomach flu.. and he is frustrated...so we are sitting in the car. I go to turn on the car, it starts, but I swear we both smelled this chemically smell... he starts yelling I TOLD YOU MA TO TAKE THE CAR IN ON FRIDAY...so I said I will take the car in on the way back...Here it is 19 outside probably -30 in the car.. but he says to me don't turn on anything just get to school and get to the mechanic.. ok fine.. so I am driving down this busy street and all of a sudden I feel the wallet moving down my chest and it's moving down my stomach.. and so I had to drive with one hand and reach under my dress to stop the wallet.. as the phone is starting to move down.. so sonny boy is going bananas.. going what the heck are you doing.. anyway so we get so school.. I said to my son OMG my bra is so big that it moved up so it's sitting around my neck.. and that's why everything was falling.. so I park in the usual place, and I reached under the dress go to get the bra in place, my son is looking at me, going what are you doing?? I said my bra is sitting around my neck I need to push it back in place.. OMG.. then worst of all I had to go to the mechanic with the 80's dress with the shoulder pads, the dress is so huge, it hits the ground and it wasn't supposed to be that kind of dress.. with the huge shoulder pads.. and the ill fitting bra...so I spoke in speed talk to get the heck out of dodge.. I apologized for my inappropriate dress..and Kenny the mechanic was laughing and laughing, cause he didn't give a rat's ass about my dress LOL.. and then I had to walk run back to my house...and here I am almost at my house so I slow up and there is this guy sitting in his car just staring at me.. so I tore up my drive way to get into the house..thank goodness for the walking I do.. man oh man.. so I am more concerned now about the chemical smell...the oil has to be changed he said.. it hasn't been changed since last January.. so please pray it won't be an arm and 14 legs.. it always is.. this is the car we use all the time.. so I understand the maintenance.. but OMG I don't want a high bill..

Melinda....I just heard where they are concerned about the fruit out your way freezing. That would be awful! Higher prices for us all. Do you have a gas oven? You can
always turn it on and open the door of the stove for awhile to help out.

I have a turkey breast along with a roast cooking in the oven and it is smelling good! I also fixed a salad and gr. beans with carrots to take out to DD's this evening. Eli will be
going home also. Nana is ready for a "little" break!!LOL

I cooked some linguine and thawed some spaghetti sauce. I figure it will be easy for DH to heat up while I'm asleep or at work.

I am totally looking forward to my lunch that I packed for work. LOL I have "loaded" broccoli with butter, cheddar cheese and bacon bits, plus some of the BBQ chicken I made in the crockpot. And a gala apple.

Happy New Year. It's Ukrainian New year, called Milanka. I don't know how to spell it but they celebrate it 2 weeks after we do---at least the church does.

Mike is still on off time. He goes back to work on Wednesday but we don't know where, or even if, he is going anywhere. Next week they are sending them to crane school so I know he will be gone then. They are not going back to Colorado until next month. It is still to cold there for them to do anything.

We were not far behind you! Was supposed to get down to 6 degrees overnight. Tonight getting down to 8 degrees. Today's high 30 tomorrow 37 so, unlike in Buffalo, these lows won't be hanging around for too long.

I have not accomplished much this morning. I did get showered and dressed a bit ago. Stripped ds' bedsheets and put on clean ones. Put his sheets in washer. Heated up some leftover meatballs and ate them as I was starving. I see why now as it is almost noon. I ate 2 shortbread cookies with my coffee at 6:15 this morning. I did spend an hour and a half on the phone with my sister though. We always talk for a long time LOL

I need to figure out something for dinner tonight. still have things to carry down to the basement and ds texted that he forgot his swim bag and towel for practice this afternoon so looks like I will be making a trip over to his school......

Well my oil is changed, my throttle is dirty, whatever that is....it's being cleaned....my spark plugs still have 20.000 miles on them.....and the Delco battery, that the put in on 2010. Is dangerously low....so he is going to call them about the warranty...of course my luck it would have ran out..

OMG I was organizing all the paperwork on my desk and I found 2 rebates for a total of $50 that I forgot to mail by the postmark date. I feel horrible. I might as well have flushed 50 bucks down the toilet.

Hate it when that happens. That is why I rarely buy anything when the sale is a rebate. I like to wait until a real sale and no rebate to mess with. However, sometimes you need the item then and there is a rebate anyway.....like in November when we bought tires for the Camry there just happened to be a rebate on Michelin's that we were buying anyway. I did manage to send that in and got the check back already. But otherwise, I do not do rebates. The manufacturers count on us forgetting to send them in..... Still, sorry, you had to miss out.

He only took 4 courses because he ended up having to drop one due to a schedule conflict. He has to maintain a B average to keep his scholarship. I know, right?! Was Idaho that much warmer than Wyoming?I know why I resisted for so long. I was worried by the cancer risk from the electrical field. Sad but true. She is 23 and she has not unfriended me but she does not post much because they don't have internet. She will get over it, I am just very dissapointed in her. Her and her DH have no ambition to further their lives. It just breaks my heart the way the children are being raised. She NEVER puts shoes on the kids, even when they are outside. They also taught Baby Lony how to pick her nose so they don't have to mess with wiping it.

I know I didn't raise her that way, or at lest I tried.
