I am hammed and turkeyed out. Ds is off the next 2 days - hopefully he will clean eveything up. Need to make him some deviled eggs, stuffing and gravy. Still way too much food in the fridge. He leaves for work at 11:30AM and gets home between 10 and 11PM if there aren't any arrests at the last minute. He always eats his dinner at one of the hotel restaurants in D.C. - that's why I still have so much food left.

I'm going to make some cheese fondue with some of that ham. With some steamed broccoli and cauliflower to dip in too. Got some fresh French bread - I'm good to go. Maybe some garlic bread too. I'm on a garlic bread binge.

Linda UCLA is playing their bowl game tonight so I am making popcorn for dinner for me...I told hubs he is finishing the leftovers. My son told me he wants a prime rib sandwich. I don't think i have lettuce though..grrrrr.

YES!!!! It's 4:31 and in a half an hour it will be dark outside so I can't wait! Boy if I celebrated Christmas every sparkly lit decoration would be left up.....along with a fake Christmas tree...365 days a year..

Congrats! That's a totally cool idea! I finally got my boys to string some lights for me up around the back porch on the inside, so I can watch them year around. They are staying. If we like fairy lights, why not enjoy them all year?

I just adore them, and if I had the capability, I would have them everywhere and on all the time. They make me feel happy!

Hi All,

Wanted to stop in and say "HI". We made it in a bit after 9:00 p.m. last night. Road conditions were not really bad. However, things were a little slushy in parts once we past Oklahoma City. Pretty much from Ardmore, OK to Denton, Tx there were many places where traffic crawled for miles. Again. I repeat. Road conditions were not bad at all. The only thing that we could figure out was that people were paying attention to the signs that said to Watch for ice on bridges and overpasses. They must have literally been looking at ice on bridges. Seriously there was never a reason for the slow downs that we could ever see once we had gotten through the traffic jams. But it happened at just about every bridge and overpass.

Now, Eliza, I don't mean to insult you but what is it with Texas drivers?! They barrel along the highway at 75+ and then slam on brakes. Over and over again. Ugh. It was no fun. But we made it. I am spoiled by our interstate and highway congestion or lack thereof, I guess.

Have been having a good visit. Did our family gift exchange today. Got ds to swim practice this a.m. and p.m. with a local club team. What we don't do for our kids, eh? Then tomorrow will make a side road trip to drop him off with a friend to head to his grandfather's ranch somewhere outside San Antonio.

Ok. Dinner is ready. I will try to check back in later! Hope you are all doing well.

Hiya KC! Glad you arrived safely and Welcome to TX! What can I say about TX drivers, they drive like maniacs and grate on my nerves daily The behaviors you observed are not out of the ordinary. There is no courtesy on the roads and congestion is always terrible.

Make sure you stop by the Riverwalk in San Antonio and take the boat ride, the twinkly lights are all out and it's magical.
