HOW? ds is working, turns out a friend of his is alone, so told him to come on over, then found out a neighbor is alone, so she is coming. Was going to make a mini-Christmas feast, leaving the rest for Friday or Saturday with ds. It just sorta happened. Everything but the cauliflower dish is pretty much done.........I'm off to finish up the sweet potatoes.

Sounds like everyone is cooking up a storm too...........Keep running in here to read the new posts. Thank goodness for dishwashers....

My goodness, Linda! This sounds very ambitious and delicious!!! Is dh helping you in the kitchen? At least loading and unloading the dw? Everything sounds really really good but I am particularly salivating over the "cream cauliflower cheddar bake" and the "rosemary buttermilk biscuits" Wow!!!

I think it is so nice of you to reach out to some who are alone today! That is really special and I hope you all have a great time together. Oh. And I hope they are grateful and help with cleanup!

Well, thank goodness since you practically drove yourself into the ground with all that cookie making and gingerbread house making and who knows what else! No, seriously, I am glad to hear the meds are kicking in and that you are feeling better.

Thank you.

You better be careful on your way to Houston. If you are driving, I see they are getting snow in Texas!

KC, when are you traveling through Dallas/Ft. Worth? It's been raining since last night, then it turned into snow, and temps. are already below freezing. Which means nasty icy roads with lots of black ice. They sand and everything, but the roads are treacherous....

If you are coming through on Wed. or later, things should be back to normal by then.

Didn't I hear that Oklahoma City was hit by ice this morning? Haven't been back to watch the weather since. Everything is ready to go, got the conv oven, reg oven, and the toaster oven all going at once. Ok - guess I'll go get myself presentable - lol - if they came to the door right now - I'd scare them for sure.

DH has really been a help - thank goodness keeping the pans cleaned and ready - couldn't have done it by myself in such a short time. My feet are killing me too. Better be a short evening - don't think I'm going to make it much beyond 7-8.

Linda, that's a lot of cooking! Everything sounds super delicious. Stay off of your feet as much as you can.

I had to smoosh my ham. It was too big to fit in the oven.

Mike is playing with all of his gun stuff he got for christmas. He putting a new bolt kit on one of his rifles. He keeps banging it on everything. I told him he either needs smaller guns or a bigger trailer. I vote for the second part.

We already decided that we were going to keep this one too. That way if people come to visit we will have a guest house. That is my goal for next year. Pay off the envoy and save a big giant chunk of money for a new trailer.

Eliza, we are supposed to get up early tomorrow (Wed) and head down to Houston. Most of the time we do not go I-35 from KC down though. We do 69/169 Hwy or 71 Hwy then occas break over in Ok to Indian Nations Hwy. We go through Muskogee and Checotah for sure but I don't remember much else. I know we have done a hwy that is on the east side of Dallas I believe. I shall have to ask dh again.

Sounds like you have had a good day, Deb. Glad everyone got together and had a good time. Dinner is almost ready here. One of ds' friends stopped by with a gift for him (my ds drives him a lot to and from practice and when they go out and he lives far from us) and some cookies for us. I called to check on a friend back home in Tn as this is her first Christmas without her mom. Then while talking with her my sister and mom called on the home phone. So.....I still have not packed because I have been cooking and cleaning up in the kitchen all day long. Dh has his things out and folded and is bringing up the suitcases. I need to go pull my things out and check youngest daughter's as well.

I will come back later to see if there are any highway/weather updates from Sue and Eliza.

Well, our impromptu Christmas dinner was really very nice. Amazing how much food 4 people can put away. Still have enough for Christmas dinner with ds this weekend too. Well - most of it - will have to make more stuffing and eggs and gravy - hmm - maybe some more sweet potatoes.

All helped with clean up and since I cleaned (dh did - lol) it went pretty fast. And the dogs had a hearty dinner too. They are happy full doggies.
