I gotta tell you something so funny.. out of the blue my son says to me this morning.. you know Mamma you need to go crazy and get some Christmas lights and wrap it around the TV table and maybe around the door LOL!!!!! I said I am going to the after Christmas sale on the lights.. I just need again a tutor on what to get....

Girl everyone is having their 50 % off sales NOW i tell ya the shelves are almost BARE and guess what!??!! some of them have put out valentines stuff! WTH is wrong with these people??
but yeah the lights are nice to have and soo peaceful to watch i used to have ones that twinkled soo nicely but they tore up years ago and nothing like that any more you can get some program ones that do the lights in sequence but nothing like those old twinkling lights if you go out again look for some QUICK or take your DS with you and let him pick a strand out!

Sorry you have to deal with this rude, primadonna, Eliza. I just can't fathom being invited over to someone's house for dinner and going to sleep after the meal. Is this the woman who had the WLS? If so she could be overeating which makes her feel sort of ill and sleepy (that's how I get anyways). Or has she always done this?

Melinda I'm glad you had such a great time in Vegas!! What was the show you saw again? Good price on that prime rib! Our local store has choice prime rib for $5.99/lb. My first thought is "what's wrong with it?". LOL. Maybe it's just a loss leader though, ya know? It's not worth me buying prime rib though, since DH won't eat even medium rare meat. And I'm not going to ruin a fabulous piece of meat like prime rib by cooking it well done.

So I went to sleep almost as soon as I got home because I was so tired. So now I'm up early. Catching up on the posts.

Chewie you do what you want but my unsolicited advice is that you are trying to do too much. The boys will survive without 10 different types of cookies. I was a bit disappointed that I was sick again over my 3 day weekend because I was going to bake again too. But it just didn't happen. As far as the surge of energy....people talk about that on LC as well and I never experienced it. I just have come to realize how much more stamina I have after losing 100 pounds. But there was no "aha" moment when I realized I had superpowers.

Deb I have taped my cards to a door as well. Mine keep falling off. LOL. I usually don't get many cards at all. It was so fun doing the card exchange. I am cracking up at that kitty picture: I was good. I wasn't.

ngredients

2 Bags Microwave Popcorn, Popped
1 (6 oz.) Box Candy Canes, Crushed
1 Pack Oreo® Cookies, Crushed
1 1/2 pack Almond Bark
1 1/2 tsp. Peppermint Extract or a Few Drops of Peppermint Oil

Instructions

Melt the white chocolate almond bark according to the directions on the package. Add the peppermint extract or oil to the almond bark and pour over popcorn.
Pour the popcorn in a very large bowl. Mix in crushed candy canes, Oreo® cookies and half of the melted almond bark over the popcorn and stir. Repeat using the remaining almond bark.
Pour popcorn on waxed paper and allow to harden. Once the popcorn has hardened, break into pieces and enjoy!

LOL Mona, I only made 7 different kinds plus fudge. I still have to make the sugar cookies but the dough is already made and in the frig---I just need to roll, cut and bake and then decorate.

So I took a nap and when I got up dh and ds14 were home. I ended up wrapping all the boys' gifts. Woohoo. I still have dh's to do but I'll do that in the morning. I want to get up early and run out to get some last minute stocking stuffers. I wrap my boys' gifts in the same color paper every year---ds14 gets blue cause he has blue eyes and ds18 gets green cause he has green eyes. I've been dong this since they were too young to read so it was easy to see who had which gift.

Oh, we also need to decorate the ginger bread boys. accckkk We were supposed to do that tonight. DS18's team, the N.Y. Giants are losing and he's mad so he went upstairs. Oh well, we can do it tomorrow I suppose.

Tree decorated--we just put our angel on top and presents around the tree. Cookies--almost done. House is almost company ready---just need to wipe down the counters and have ds clean the guest bath. Dh vacuumed today. Laundry is caught up too and put away.

I just cooked some chicken fingers and used my smoked paprika for the first time ever and I bought it about a year ago. I think it tasted pretty good but I didn't get the full effect because of my cold. LOL. Also made some Marie Calendar's cornbread (aka yankee cornbread) and some green beans. Made some homemade ranch for myself for dipping sauce and DH just had ketchup.

I'm toying with the idea of going back to bed for another 2 hours before I have to get up and get ready for work.

Yes, it is the woman who had WLS, but she had it just a couple of months ago....but has been doing this for the last 7 years.

What?? Stores in Cailf. are closed on Christmas Day? Here in good old Okla. we have K Mart open, Walgreens, Warehouse Market part of the day, and I hear McDonald's will open this year. When I was young nothing and I mean nothing was open. The same for Sunday's. Everything used to close on Sunday also.

Melinda, those potatoes are what also are known as make ahead potatoes. I make them every TG. They are SO good!!!! I make them up the day or so before and then heat them in my crock pot for 2 hrs. on low.
