Ya know - I could go on and on - and keep filling up this page. Didn't mean to scare everyone away. I'm really not that bad - I mean - I know I tried waking everyone up this morning - but that's just cause I wanted company and beautiful faces to start the day.

You know - I think I'll go make a broccoli salad and whip up some cukes/tom/on/feta with a dressing on it for dinner. Might as well be productive - right? Guess I've been reading about Lony's doings toooooo long.

I'll be back..............Linda

Maybe the preacher is coming because if it is just a guy you thought you would meet with, in this day and age they always want someone there with them when meeting with a woman.

I don't think so. It's the head of the SPRC---staff parish relations committee and unfortunately, the pastor is part of the group. It's the church's HR department--per se.

I don't know. I never felt this way about a pastor before and actually, not many people intimidate me but he sure does. It's in my head and I need DH to do an exorcism on my head or something. LOL
Nice to hear that you can already fit into a shirt that just hung in the closet for so long. Your little boy is 18.......sound like he had a nice surprise, his friend announcing to the whole place it was his special day - good for her.

Linda
It is very sweet. Tomorrow he's going out to lunch with some good friends to celebrate and then going back to one of the girl's houses for a party. Whatever that means. Lucky they are all good kids. I hear "party" and sets off an alarm.

What exactly was your response to them again Chewie? You gave them your counter offer? Work for current pay til start of New Year , then take pay cut, wasn't it? I thought you said you were considering telling them that but don't know if you did or not.

Actually, I never made a counter offer. I asked why this occurred and then asked what their bottom line was because I don't want to play games. I did say that I thought a 30% pay cut was ridiculous. So we'll see what they say. I am going to have to stay and hopefully it won't be too bad but they don't know that. I'm not ready, in my head or with clothes, to go out and look for a different job right now. Maybe in 4-6 months, yet, but not now.

Chewie, what is your position called? Have you done an online salary search to see if what you have been earning is more the norm, or if the reduced salary is more the norm? I know I have seen them break down the salary per positions by state as well. Might be helpful to know that or not you never know. Would it help to gently remind them that they are the ones who gave you the salary last year when you were offered a job at the University?

Lony....yup, you are right, that was Flo. The name of the show was "Alice" I think wasn't it???? The lady with the dark hair that was a waitress with Flo was Alice. The owner of the cafe was Mel. It was Mel's Diner I think.

Hubs and I are heading out for dinner and a little shopping.
In the morning we are heading out to see my MIL for the day
so I will catch you all Thursday.

Where did everybody go? Tonight is clean out the refrigerator night. So we are having a smorgasbord! I just ate some of oldests quesadilla she brought back from her dinner out last night. I don't know what it was called but it was delicious! There was shrimp and avocado, cheese, grilled onions, etc. Wow. Yum. We are watching The Voice. Didn't realize that the first hour tonight is a rerun. then the next two hours are the final. Gonna be a late night.

Melinda, yrs. ago in the middle of the night when the kids were small and hubs was out of town someone was on the run and they had helicopters and police all over. I remember them on loud speakers telling everyone to stay inside. There I was outside with the helicopters and their lights shining down on the porch and lawn. It didn't take me long to catch on and to go back in and lock us inside. So what is going on there??? Any clue?
