One of them specially requested tonight off so that would be crappy to call him in. And the other guy is starting training for Blood Bank on day shift on Monday so he's in the process of switching out from a night schedule to a day schedule. So that would be crappy as well for him. He'd have to work all night for 10 hours then put in 8 hours for the day shift! So I will try to put my big girl panties on and go to work. haha!

The cookies I brought into work were a big hit. Hardly anyone bakes from scratch anymore so people really appreciate it.
i hope it isn't too bad a cold for you! Ken works nightshift as well and says he would rather have it steady than "an easy night" sometimes it seems it would be hard to stay awake
i bet your house smells soo good with that fresh tree in it!! he he he have the kittehs discovered it yet??
do you all remember this??

Oh! I forgot to share my score at the grocery store. Albertson's has out their Christmas flavors of Celestial Seasonings teas. I was never able to find Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride last year but I got some today! It was $2.50 plus I had a $1.00 off coupon AND a double coupon from the store so it only cost me 50 cents. Woot!

Ms. Mona, that's a great deal on the sugar cookie tea! Sorry you had a slow night.....Yes, I'm coming down with something, sore throat, feeling icky, have been doubling up on the Kyolic garlic supplements, they are usually pretty good at stopping it in its tracks. On top of that TOM with all its pleasantness ....not...is here.

Wow, you lucky lady! Don't you love it when you can score such a bargain? It is going to be 70 here today! Feels warm out right now. Hope your meds will kick in and help fight that cold while you are sleeping. Should I wish for a busy night for you for tonight so that you might not feel your suffering so much?

No, and I am anxious to hear what was going on. Maybe they gave her pain meds and they have knocked her out? Hope they didn't have to pull anything or do a root canal. Melinda, we are all thinking about you.

You all are so sweet. Thank you all!!
I think it was yesterday morning when I last heard from Melinda. My days and mind are so mixed up right now! I wrote back and asked her about her tooth and I didn't get a reply yet. Maybe the meds did knock her out. This is Sunday and we all know this is her busy cooking day and I would think we would hear from her.
kcmama, hang in there. This time of year is stressful at times and with kids and their "I know it all" attitude it doubles down on you. Maybe you need to do what I did last evening. Hubs took me out for a margarita!! It just helped to relax me a little.
Lony....OMG!! Look at that baby already smiling and look at that cute little outfit!!!! I can't wait for Layla to get here!! I'm just sad now because mama was so looking forward to seeing her. I believe and this is just my belief that God allows our loved ones to peek in on special days like the birth of a baby!
My daughter from Springfield, Mo. will be here later this afternoon so I guess I need to go do a couple of things for her bedroom.
Have a wonderful afternoon all.

I just got back from shopping at Target which I hadn't planned but the store I needed to go to didn't open for 30 minutes. It was hard walking all over and I got so hot. Then I went to the other store to do a return. I'm home now and tired. This is why I need this surgery--that's just normal, everyday stuff that is so hard to do when you're big.

I did get a cute sparkly lime green top and 3 pairs of cute panties--which I needed desperately. Now I have to go pack my bag.

Dh decided to make 2 sticky chickens, the 5 hour recipe. Doesn't matter to me as I'm on clear liquids so I'm pushing my water. I also have a container of won ton soup dh bought me last night and I will give the won tons to ds or someone. The broth will be nice.

It's actually hot today. It's 71 and all our windows are open. I got all sweaty walking around in Target. BLeck!!!! It's Dec 2--wth???

Mona and Eliza--hope your colds pass quickly. That stinks.

Blaze is so cute, I just LOVE orange cats. Mine is so skittish, she won't let anyone even pick her up. She does like me to pet her but that's it. Probably cause she lives in the garage and the other cat (the male) is evil and attacks her all the time.

Dh bought me a present, 2 blender containers that have blender balls in them. They are for my protein shakes. They look great. I will definitely get a lot of use out of those.

Yule/Christmas Lore & Traditions: Tinsel

In both Ukrainian and German lore, the tale of the Christmas spider explains the origin of tinsel. The story tells of a poor widow who couldn't buy fancy gifts for her children or decorations for their tree. One Christmas Eve, she decorated a tree as best she could with fruits and nuts. After she went to sleep, spiders came out and crawled over the tree, leaving their webs behind. When Father Christmas visited the house, he saw the web-covered tree and decided to turn the webs to silver. In the morning when the family awoke, the tree was sparkling and beautiful. To this day, many families decorate their trees with tinsel, often including a small silver spider and web, to commemorate this miracle.

Deb, Santa looks wonderful! Thanks for posting the pic of my Blaze here. He is my snuggle bug. If I'm sitting down he'd come over and snuggle, can't get rid of him Snuggle and nuzzle. Because he was taken away from his mom so early, I've been trying to replace her by giving him lots of attention and snuggles and he is already becoming spoiled rotten.

KC - you know when I read about all the upsets with ds, sure does bring back so many memories of my oldest ds. I do know exactly what you mean - 'doing an awful lot of praying'. Always pushing the rules, testing the limits of your patience. You are doing a good job, don't ever think you're not. My son often tells me now- or asks me - why did he have to get smart so late. Getting through those teen years is not easy for a lot of us.

Thanks Eliza, I'm going to try some massage on my knee. Didn't even think about it. Worth a shot that's for sure.

Hope all your doctoring will work and you'll feel better tomorrow.
