Lony what are you doing today? Mike is home, yes? How's the weather? It's in the 40s here. Supposed to start getting into the 30s at night this week. And it's raining, of course.

Gas is $3.21 here. Getting so close to breaking the 2 dollar mark. I wonder if it will happen?

My toe that I had that minor procedure on is fine. Doesn't really hurt at all. In fact one of my fingernails that I bit too much nail off hurts more. Gah I wish I could stop biting my nails. Owwwie.

Well I've broken in my mixer! Made two batches of cookie dough so far. It's got vanilla and flour on it. LOL. So far I've made chewie ginger-molassas cookies (first time I made them and they are good!) and I've got my pecan thumbprint dough chilling in the fridge.

Today I am going to finish all my stuff for the goodie baskets.

Mike is "home" but he is still on shift. They are taking the big coil truck to Billings and then he is back to buffalo until Monday. Then they go back to Billings till Wednesday. So he will be gone today for the day.

Well then I am coming over for some Long Island teas and goodie basket making!!

Speaking of which I better throw the dress on got to get my gas...I saw one gas station lower the price to 3.49...but the one I am going to is 3.51...ok wish me luck LOL!

You've talked about the coil truck before. What is it? What exactly does Mike do?

Well, I wish I could expain it. But I have no idea how to go about it. They have a giant semi truck with thousands of feet of small metal tube on it. They can use the metal tube to go down into a well and pump it full of cement, or water or set off explosives.. All sorts of things. I say the truck is huge because it is 16 feet tall and way over legal weight. They have to have special permits when they drive it. I must say to see the truck in person is very impressive.

Mike and one other guy are the only ones allowed to drive the trucks in the ice and snow because of the sheer size of them. Once they hit a deer and the deer just exploded into a million shards of goo, that how massive the trucks are.

MONA!!!!! So excited to hear your news! The Kitchen Aid has arrived. Whoohoo!You have already broken it in. Good for you. Did you notice a difference? Did it make the cookie making process any easier for you? Those Molassis Crinkle Cookies look yummy. They are picture perfect too. Good job. I like to make those. Guess I should make some. LOL

It is another sunny and very dry day here. We are still in a drought. Last night they were talking about the dew point/humidity and saying that the numbers are for the desert climate. That is how bad it is here. There is a chance of some rain Fri night but it seems that our chances decrease each day as we get closer to Fri. Sad, sad.

I am showered and dressed. Going over to have coffee with a friend of mine from Bible Study this morning. She has a newly remodeled kitchen so I am sure to come home with house envy. She also asked me to bring over the photos from our Disney trip so I asked dh to put everything on a flash drive last night to take over today. Oh, well, she asked for them.......

I did address some Christmas cards last night while watching X Factor but still have more to do and send out. Then later this afternoon ds has a swim meet . He will get to swim today. I had to order him new swim briefs. Think speedo style/size. I was not here when the team was doing an additional order for the speedo style vs the team jammer that I had already ordered for him. He didn't want to wear a jammer and apparently a lot of the other swimmers didn't either so one of the moms coordinated doing an order for speedo style suit. I had to order his separately. He is such a goofball sometimes. The one he picked for his competition suit (not practice suit) is a metallic purple (school color is purple/grey/white/black). His team is going to crack up when they see him. I won't be able to stay for the whole meet as I will have to get youngest to dance.

I've returned from Wal Mart safe and sound!! I got everything I needed except for the liquid pectin! Oh well...I wanted to make another trip out looking for it.
Mona, you will love your mixer. I've had mine a few yrs. now and I'm still in love with it. Your cookies look yummy and lovely!!
So I am almost ready to start making Christmas goodies for family and our neighbor who so kindly brings us the paper each morning. She delivers the paper and always has one left over for us it seems.
Here is what is on the list this year:

Mona, do you share recipes. My husband would love that. His mother used to make ginger cookies, and you could break a tooth on those suckers. I have tried to make soft ones, but have never found a recipe I like.

KC, my meeting went fine. The guy who came from Louisville was super. This new system will be great, but there will definitely be a learning curve. I feel the stress building now.

I have a new pain patch, and I think I am allergic to it. I didn't take my new pain medicine last night because my doctor said it makes 7% of the people groggy and 7% of the people hyper. I thought I needed my sleep last night since I left home at 6:30 and won't be home until 9:00 tonight.

WOW...I didn't know that Swimming was done in the winter too....

Speaking of the X Factor....who do you like??? I am not a fan of Country fan..but that guy from Missouri...sounds pretty awesome... I do like that 13 year old girl...I hate it when this Demi person, keeps telling her she is doing the same things.. I mean people tend to pick the genre of music they like.. maybe that's what she likes...everytime she says oh your predictable I want to throw something at the TV...

Kcmama...I am born and raised here.. and We have always been in drought conditions.. it is pretty bad.. though it affects all of us.. prices of food everything.. I have always said that instead of oil pipelines..they need one for water...you know what I mean?? so they can bring it to the other states.. I know I know dumb idea.. but I always thought that...

I have to make 3 more batches of butter toffee, the lemon cookies and dip the pretzles and then I think I am done until gingerbread houses this weekend.

Still haven't had it. I was planning on calling the guy today but my dh asked me why? I just want it over with but I'm really getting the feeling they want me gone. A 30% paycut is just a ridiculous thing to expect an employee to take. I just don't know that I have any choice. I will have to stay till I find something else. Sigh. Thanks for asking.
