Lony, the best decision I ever made was to quit including my brother and his family in our Christmas celebration. They told me what to buy, when to have my meal, what to cook, whined if something didn't suit and gave my 16 year old bubbles for Christmas one year when I was expected to give their daughter $40 jeans. I was going to college full time and working full time and my SIL was a stay at home mom to 2 teenagers, but I was still supposed to do it all. It has been 16 years, and it was the best decision I ever made.

So, how did you tell them? Did they get upset? Do you have any relationship with them now or was that the end of it?

Lucky I say good riddance. People like that would drive me mad. They sound controlling and inconsiderate, and also like users. Sometimes a person needs to draw a line in the sand.

Thanks Lucky, that makes me feel better.

I have a full belly and soft buzz and I am going to plop my chunky buns on the sofa, watch the christmas edition of 4 houses and then go to bed.

Sweet dreams my lovely friends.

I just didn't invite them for whatever holiday was coming up. My SIL called to ask me what plans I had made. I asked her if she had made plans, and that was the end of it. We have a relationship when it suits them. I have been in the hospital 15 miles from their house and I never even get a phone call. They are pretty selfish. I just got tired of always being on the giving end.

http://http://979kickfm.com/show-your-support-for-a-special-bowling-green-girl/

Ladies, could you do me a favor and send this little girl a Christmas card or a get well greeting. She was an elementary student of my daughter's and now her brother is in her classes. This is her second battle with cancer since she was 5 years old. They have decided to take her off chemo.

Good Morning All!

I have had my first cup of coffee, made lunch for dd, gotten the trash out, been to the bus stop, and read my Bible Study lesson for the morning. But, man, I must be eating too many carbs and sweets as I sit down to study/read and start falling asleep! My computer puts me to sleep.

Wow, Lony, you have wrapped two presents. Yay! I hate wrapping cuz I am lazy! I have sorted all of the stocking stuffers that I have picked up into different Target/Walmart bags for each person. I have to do that or Christmas Eve will come and I will realize that I have a ton of stuff for someone and not for one or others. I pick up things like the candies I know they like but I usually don't buy (youngest loves the Hershey's Cookies n Cream candy bar, oldest loves the chocolate oranges, etc.), those Colgate wisps, I got each of the girls their own can of Suave Dry Shampoo, the makeup I had to buy for youngest anyway is going in her stocking, dh and ds each get a can of shaving cream, etc. I try to be as practical as possible yet put in some fun items too--I picked up a Dinglehopper (i think they call it) at Disney for oldest as she saw it online and wanted one. I will put in $10 gift cards for Itunes and for the local AMC movie theaters and then I should be done. When they were little they got things like fun toothbrushes, underwear, socks, candy and a movie gift card. Oh, I also used to buy them each a dvd-whatever new Disney or Barbie one was out at the time. Target had 16 gb flash drives for 8.99 so I got one of those to put in dh's stocking since he is always looking for one here at home anyway.

I think I am done. I hope I am done! I am considering ordering one of those Fit Bit things for myself though. Can't decide.

kcmama, I saw where our Dollar Tree had the Colgate wisps. Some time ago they had my Cover girl lip stick. I normally pay around $8 for it at Wal Mart or other places. I love my Dollar Tree!!!!

I understand Okla. has the cheapest gas around. It is down to $2.89 this morning!!!!

Have a great day all....

Good morning. At work, trying to catch up. Feeling down today, unappreciated and anxious about the 'Pay" discussion. Not ready for this.

Plus found out dh's car's engine is shot, dead, finit. Either we get a new rebuilt one or a different car. Not what we needed right now with my job in jeopardy and my ds not working.

Hello everyone! I just got home from work. WOW what a week I've had. Today is my Friday so that is awesome. I only have 2 days off this week though.....getting an extra day overtime. Woot!

Work has been so busy and when I'm not working on running patient testing I'm trouble shooting this that and the other, solving problems, typing emails. Oye! And the past two days I have had podiatrist appointments. The first was my 6 month checkup and now that my plantar fasciitis is under control I wanted to address my toenail problem. Fungal infection (I think?) and ingrown toenail problems for years. She said she could do a procedure that takes a small slice of the toenail off on each border and permanently stops the nail from growing back. She had a cancelation the next day so I took the appointment! Had it done and it really doesn't hurt at all. Thank goodness! I have to soak it today and take really good care of it so it can drain.

Well enough about my grody toes. Time to catch up on the posts.
