Chewie, hope your DS's car repairs end up being a fraction of $600. Could you buy the part and install it yourselves?
We drive Kias specifically because of their 10 year, 100, 000 mile warranty. I recently paid off my SUV and still have 4-5 years under warranty. Used to have other makes cars and hated the repair costs. |

Oh brother, coach just posted they are going to size the kids for letterman jackets if they want one next week. Yeah, what football player doesn't want one???? Wonder what they're going to cost?

Wow Chewie, I am sorry about the Dh's timing belt. They are not hard to put on but getting them set correctly is a pain in the tookus. I have my fingers crossed that it is not too expensive to fix.

So here is my little adventure....
Well Hubs forgot to send in his pay sheet from his teaching job and it is due today.. so the office called at 4:20 and thank goodness I answered the phone.. and I guess that after Wed...they are off for a month.. so they can't extend it like they usually do..she said she was making tons of phone calls to other teachers..... so the office girl told me the payroll sheet has to be in the office by Wed or basically he is out of luck..so Monday the shelter is closed and after 3 times calling there...letting it ring 100 times.. my hubs finally picked it up...so I tell him the problem and he goes.. oh they always say that...I said no, starting on Wed the office is closed for a month.....so I had to run to the shelter.. I ran down there no bra on ok...with the envelope, paperwork and stamps.. I told him be in the parking lot..then one of his co workers comes out to say hello and here I am in a pony tail and no bra.. LOL...so he filled out it and I sped to the post office, by this time it's 4:37.. I get to the mailbox.. boy thank goodness we live near this post office...and the last pick up is 5pm.. so hopefully it will get there by Wed.. its going to downtown Los Angeles.. but heck you never know...pray they get it....Then the big cheese calls Maria.. and they want projected hours and grades... and with hubs working 2 jobs, it's not like he can sit and do this.. so I had to send to her a week ago, a list of students were going to need the certificate of completion.. thank goodness I saved it to Word.. so I made a copy.. so hopefully it makes it easier for him to this.. cuts out the step I think.. then guess who is going to have to, type it and email it LOL ME!! All by Thursday....talk about getting ones blood boiling and moving... |

Yeah, here the parents also buy the letter jackets. I want to say they are around 200$. We have not bought one but I have looked at them at the Sporting Goods store. |

I sure hope that jacket is no where near $350.
In any case, I made the guys chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. They loved it. Going to say good night now. Staying home again tomorrow. |

Morning All! Brrrrrrr, again. LOL But it is a short lived cold front. We were very blessed at the bus stop this morning that there was no wind!! The moon was such a tiny sliver today, I said it looked like it had a French manicure!
Well, my ds needs to do some community service hours this weekend. I tell you, these teens or mine in particular is going to be the death of me. They want you to do things for them but they don't want to disclose all the details--or they only dole the details out in pieces. This organization requires all volunteers to attend an orientation and he did go to the orientation. I remember him telling me that they require you to work all your hours in one week. I remember this because I thought it was so bizarre. How could he fit that in to his schedule, he only has bits and pieces of time. So, the only time he would be able to do so would be Christmas break. Now, we may go to Houston for Christmas so he needs to get his hours done before we go. I mentioned something to him about scheduling time last week and then he tells me that he never said they had to do it all in a week just had to give 48 hours notice (ok, I know I am getting old, but really, I would not have confused those two very different things!). Then this morning I reminded him about the 48 hour advance scheduling and that he should schedule time this weekend and he says, "You do it mom. Oh, and you don't call. You have to do it by email and you have to tell them the date I did my training." REALLLLY?!!! Um, so what is the email address, the name of the person ? His response, okay ladies, tell me you see this response coming......"I don't know." Not only does he not know whom I contact but neither of us can remember the date he did the orientation. Some days I just want to scream!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Boy kCmama.,,,.that is 10 on the frustration wheel for sure...my son has to do those community services hours too...last year he picked the boys and girl's club and helped with the kid's homework.....he has had to do it since middle school...good luck with that....some years it frustrating for me as well...because he waits for the last minute and scrambles to find something..this year as a senior they have do of something at school...so in March he is going to hang some shelves..

Good morning. Starting to feel like I'm in a rut. I'm actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow to just get out of the house. Although I've been dreading having the "pay" conversation, that is not going to be fun.
KC==kids are just nuts. They don't realize how much stress they cause us. It's super cold here too---was in the teens overnight but it's supposed to be short lived. |
