Wow, Chewie, that is so hard to believe! Your son worked all the time and went in pretty much every time they called him though he wasn't scheduled. Did he say what happened? Has he been there long enough to get unemployment until he finds something else? Since he is a student, can he go to the office on campus to look for a job? Don't know if he can qualify for a work-study job at this point but he might be able to for next semester. Did you all fill out the FAFSA? Did that say he was eligible for a work-study campus job by chance?

My calories are 2 shakes that are 160 calories each, so a total of 320 for the day. I also get in 2 quarts of water, sometimes a cup of decaf tea, and a cup of chicken broth. I am not hungry at all. I haven't even had the "head" hunger they talk about but I'm sure in time, that will happen.

Friday night they were short handed and did $2000 in pizza by 8 pm. They didn't turn the line in time and the manager got mad, then the owners(totally unstable people) got mad and decided to clean house--which they have done at their other locations numerous times. They fired ds and his friend, Taylor. These people are nuts. One day the kids get discounts, the next they don't. One day the schedule is up, the kids write it all down, then they change it without telling anyone. They keep changing all their policies and it's ridiculous. My dh and I have been telling him since the beginning he needs to get another job. We knew something like this would happen. He's much better off, truthfully but he'll miss his money for a while.

He'll find something. I'm really not worried. He has an awesome personality and won't have a problem. I tried to talk him into being a waiter. He'd make some really great tips but he doesn't want to do that. It's good for him to have a break. He never turned them down when they called him---not once in 9 months. He always would work.

It's better then..I am sure he will find something...I sometimes, don't understand what owners and bosses want from people...on hub's day job.. the new boss lady came out and decided that she wanted to shake up the shifts.. like putting the people on graveyard on the day shift.. everyone is in a state of panic.. because for instance, my hub's has the 2nd job at night.. and then some people like graveyard and swing because it's good childcare..so there is a parent with their kids at all times..I don't get what these people want.. maybe your sonny boy will get something better and be more appreciated..

DS17 just did the laundry for me. He had his first college final exam this morning---speech and he had to go first---give an oral speech. He said it was nerve wracking going first. This week is finals and then he's done till mid January.

Man, your DS has been working so hard for these people you are right, he will be a lot better off at a workplace where he can learn something positive. I'm sure he can use a little break in the meantime, he's been working so hard for the past few months, and going to college.

Hi girls, I'm home on time, for once! For the last week, I've been taking krill oil and cod liver oil and my energy levels finally went up today, and so did my mood. I'll use this to get some work done, hopefully up my steps on my pedometer, too, currently around 5300.

Plus, my scoby for my homemade Kombucha finally arrived, so it will be tea brewing time today

I grew up in a tiny town of 600. I love small towns. When my FIL passed the whole town it seemed brought in food. So much we couldn't use all of it or get it in the fridge! I love small town people. They are so thoughtful and caring. Of course they are also a little on the "snoopy" side. Not much to do in a tiny town so you have to know everyone's business!

Thanks Elizakins...I am done with his Chanukah Presents.. I was going to buy him some.. but my Sis in law told me that there was a pair included in his presents, she sent him.. so since he likes to go get a ice coffee drink, with friends, I bought him a Starbucks card instead...I haven't been to Ross in ages.. So dh came home just as I was going to take my nap. Gives me the lousy news that his car needs a new timing belt---I think that's what he called it and it's going to cost $600 and we don't know til it's installed if the engine is ok. It might have been damaged from the failure or something. We drive old cars---his is a 2003 so we do have repair costs frequently. This is a big one. It started to get to me but what can I do? I'm just going to keep praying and it'll all work out.

i have a 72, 72, 79, 2-2001s and a 2005 vehicles and we don't have to repair things very often on any of them??

Deb---I'm not sure if that's what it's called. His car is a 300M Chrysle so it's usually more expensive to fix.
