I have my dad's brown sweater and mama's jacket that I would like to make into teddy bears someday. I just can't get brave enough to try it. It's only been 29 yrs. that daddy has been gone!!LOL I keep his sweater in my hope chest.
Lony....be careful or you will put yourself under too much pressure by trying to do too much before Christmas!! Been there and done that a few times!!! Talk about a crazy woman when I used to do that! Wow I was for sure. LOL

That is one good thing about the hubs being gone for two weeks. I can be crazy and manic when he is not around.

Good Morning, All. BBBBrrrrrrrrr. Our coldest morning yet. Sposed to be -5 with wind chill. Yikes! At least Lony finally has company and can commiserate with someone about How Cold It Is! I have made lunch for youngest, prayed hard for ds, put away dishes from dish drainer and made coffee.

Eliza, hope today passes quickly for you and that you get some unexpected bright spots.

Sue, I am such a pushover for Hallmark movies. I even enjoy the commercials they show during the movie! Some are mini movies themselves.

Hope everyone is turning the corner from their illnesses. Linda, hope the Shingles are greatly improved today.

No I need a bigger area.....my son suggested the coffee table. Plus I can look at them better..I need to find out how they are sold the lengths.

Lony, I was thinking. Isn't there some other material you could use in place of the fur? What kind of bear does he want? Brown, black,-- polar----panda?

There is that mink stuff now, velour, fleece, jersey knit,heavier double knit, terry cloth..... then line it with something soft and with a hood that has ears it would still look like a bear without the furry mess. The cleaning/laundry/upkeep of the fur would be difficult wouldn't it?

Kcmama thanks for the suggestions, I will try to find a fabric store and see what kind of options I have. I think he wants to look like a big brown bear or grizzled.

We will have to see.

They may be coming home anyway. Looks like Shell only has ammonia wells left up there and they don't want to start them yet. Mike said they may only keep one crew up there till Christmas. Luckily they like Mike and his crew the best so they would be the ones that stayed, if they keep one.

Ohh Kcmama put on your winter woolies and join the club. Maybe we should go caroling in the frigid tundra!

Those to me aren't right.. Christmas is Christmas and Chanukah is Chanukah...I am not one of those who says Happy Holidays.. I say Merry Christmas.. betty had a small tree she left up all year and put different lights on for different things through the year

Well no not a tree for me...but I want to throw a pair of lights around my coffee table.. just cause I love lights and sparkle....but I don't want a 50 foot pair of lights...and maybe a around my Tiffany Style lamp LOL!. I am going to look at the after Christmas sale and see if they sell them in short lengths.....There is a house decorated up the block from me.. and they have blue, purple, and red.. it repeats like that.. no other colors and is just gorgeous...

Lony.. I bet it would fall off...but heck I would crystal it all up LOL!!

I know these are dumb stupid questions.. but I have heard during the years that when people go thru their Christmas decorations.. they throw lights away cause it's no good...

My sister in law had star fish lights that she draped around her table behind her dining room table.. but she said those aren't Christmas lights..
