I just made some cookie dough. My family calls them sandies but they are also known as Mexican wedding cakes. Basically butter, flour, a bit of sugar and finely chopped pecans. Then you roll them in powdered sugar after they are baked.

Well, I should hope so. My goodness what were you doing up so early? I woke up around 6:00 because I was so hot and then of course began thinking of things my son needed to do today and I should remind him, etc. so up I got. I did do some Bible Study reading. Good morning. Happy Saturday. I need to get my bag packed for the hospital and get my stuff ready for when I come home too. Going to set up a protein shake center--with all my powders, DaVinci syrups, blenders. I'm going to be on shakes only for 2 weeks, maybe a little longer. Plus I have to go to the pharmacy and pick up a few things too.

Lynn...Seriously.. I am very doctor phobic.. in fact I am a year late for my 6 month dental apt..and I am going to hear the bs this morning.. but I wait to the situation is a complete utter emergency, before even thinking about going.. I don't like doctors and I won't go for anything unless forced, including the eye doctor... when I called she ask me to come in right now and that she would even pick me up, at my house, to take me in.. it was me who out of fear, said I will see you on Saturday....I hate doctors and hate hospitals....I would rather bleed to death or gouge my own eyeballs out than go...

Will you be able to have things that are broth based as well? I know that even though I like protein shakes I get really sick and tired of "sweet" things when that is all I am eating. I crave something warm and salty like Beef Bouillon, etc. but I don't know what is allowed.

Eliza, do you still need a recipe to take in to work for your treat day? I found a very simple and affordable recipe. You could make two and that should work maybe.....Use a couple of 9x13 disposable foil pans and you are good to go.

Yes, I can. I actually purchased a protein shake that is chicken broth flavored and have heard is very good. The first two weeks are very strict, not even Greek yogurt in your shakes. After that though, you move to pureed food.

But about your job situation... you know I know how you feel about the salary etc.. because my husband at his job...was given the gift of furlough days in both of his jobs and medical and dental insurance increases along with that, and he hasn't been raise in either job.. one was 8 years ago and the other was 7 years ago...and the night job...since the corporation took over that place, my husband got a .25 cent raise...talk about your dignity..... it stinks... but out here anyway, with unemployment being 10.6 percent we had no choice, so we had to eat it...

Good luck on that.. maybe another door opens to something better...

And with that I am going to cuddle with hubs before he goes to work.. and work my courage to drive myself to the doctors...my sonny boy told me he would go with me.. I will put on my big girl panties and go myself...

You may want to have sonny boy go with you just in case they do something major and you are too loopy. Think about it missy!

After my surgery I really enjoyed my homemade chicken stock. I added a little sea salt to it and sipped on it throughout the day. Yes, it was a nice alternative to the sweet protein drinks and stuff.

I completely understand...I don't go either unless there is no alternative...all they do is throw pills at you anyway...sometimes we need the pills, however..I wish there were more alternatives in conventional medicine..I wouldn't say I was doctor phobic...but, have been there...done that...gotten nowhere...except on certain occasions...like having babies...and even then...I would have only recommended one of the three doctor's I had for each birth. (one of whom's birthday is today....the child that is...not the doctor..lol)...eye doctor's the same...dermatogist's ditto...dentist's...ditto..(although, I am reasonably happy with the one I have here in CA for which I am thankful)....chiropractors also...I, so far, love only one..and he is in MA...a tough commute..lol...although I am working on trusting the latest one out here. There are situations where you need them...and for those things I am glad they are there.

Back in the other thread I wished you luck Chewie...not sure you saw it..
