Just a quick hello... my teeth and gums and ears are still killing me.. I have to go back to the dentist tomorrow...sorry been MIA.. just haven't felt like myself..

DEB!! I went to pick up my son today.. we came home around 5:30... there must have been 20 crickets everywhere.. including on my wall near my front door.. I hear them outside..because it is so warm and humid here...they are back..OMG...My son went went with some friends to see another friend of theirs at USC.. I told him put my keys in the mailbox I am NOT OPENING THE DOOR!!! They are so loud...I guess it diverts the attention away from my mouth...

Good morning Eliza. And good morning to all!

I think I've turned the corner with my cold. Ready to venture out into the world today. I've got to go to Costco and get some stuff, then I'm going to head by Target. Got my list printed and sorting my coupons now. Might do a bit of Christmas shopping too, but don't have anything in mind--just browsing. Oh, and I have to stop by Sears and pick up a steam carpet cleaner I ordered. The previous people had cats and we're pretty sure they peed in the corners of the living room and it's kinda of stinky out there. Since our whole house is carpet I figured a steam cleaner wouldn't be such a bad investment. Got a $30 rebate, and also used $10 Sears "come back" cash I've had since the summer when I bought my curtains there.

Yay, Mona. Glad you are feeling better!! My son is coming down with something, too. He was complaining that his throat felt like it was on fire, so he did go to bed early last night with Nyquil. I ran out to pick up some more Dayquil and some of the Halls Breezers the kids like. I also picked up a thing of Zicam. I have never used it and don't know if it is too late for him or not, but if I start feeling something I am going to use it!

Have fun shopping but don't wear yourself out!

Where is everyone else? Still in bed under the covers?

Hope you have a great day today Eliza. Youngest is going on a field trip with the whole grade to see A Christmas Carol, they will do lunch out as well. She was put in a reading Enrichment Group that was reading the First Edition of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The others in the grade have not had to read the book.

She asked me to read her the second Stave I believe it is called because it is too hard to read and the audio portion she has is too slow. So, I read it to her the other night. Now, I love to read. I have read other Dickens works --Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, A Tale of Two Cities-- and liked them very much when I was in High School. However, I have to say that A Christmas Carol is a horrible read. Sadly, I am sorry that my daughter's first exposure to Dickens is this book. I know that she will never read another by him unless she is forced to do so for a class.

I love the story too and my daughter has seen the Barbie version and I believe the Muppet version, but, reading that original is tough! LOL Even I thought it was awful.

So sorry you still feel crappy. Ooops, I should take that hug back! I don't want the germs!!!! Seriously, I hope you feel better and are stocked with meds. Ds took Dayquil this a.m. and took some to school along with throat/cough drops.

Oldest and I have been having quite the conversation this morning. It is all good. We have been talking politics, solving the world's problems, etc.
