Hey Vicki---we were missing you!! Anything we can do to help?

Cyndy---thanks for the info on the melatonin. I'll have to look for that this weekend and check it out. Sounds like you made SO's b-day very special! And you had quite the busy weekend! Hope that scale is much nicer to you next week.

Liz---I have read a ton of stuff on food/nutritients/etc. and how they impact sleep. I feel like I've tried everything! But I'm thankful for the reminder because maybe I need to think about what I'm eating and how it differs from when I sleep well?? There are so many things I really should be journaling about so I could figure out patterns for things like this but I just don't seem to be disciplined enough.... I eat plenty of carbs during the day, and I've tried the potato/starch at night thing. At one point I looked up all the foods that were high in tryptophan and tried most of them with no luck---unless I overate and then of course I slept like a baby. For awhile l-tryptophan was working for me when I was taking the aminos---maybe I need to give that a shot again, not sure. Last night I got 4.5 hours of sleep so I'm hoping that maybe it's going to work itself out on it's own....I hope! If not tomorrow night I will definitely try something---maybe the l-tryp.

Tomorrow is Friday! Sadly I am booked solid in meetings all day, even over my lunch hour. But as soon as the last one is over I am out of there and going to hopefully have a fun and productive weekend! So does anyone have any fun and/or relaxing plans for the weekend?

Hi,I was talking to my oldest son tonight and he says he take melatonin to help him sleep ,i'm thinking about trying it myself.I have used benadryl to help me sleep. No plans here this weekend I get some food but think I'll wait till monday.I will find out the results of the holster monitor test weds at my monthly appt.Corey my oldest told me he watched me walking with the walker while he was here and said it really bothered him seeing me like this. He's thinking about relocating to Atl in the next year so he will be closer to me.It makes me feel bad that my kids are hurt by my mobility problems.I just pray I can change my life around before its too late.

Sorry for venting but I just had to talk to someone about this.Have a good weekend.

Hey ladies

Linda---great to see you! You sound like you have found the plan for you---yay!! I honestly think that most of us have to go through lots of ups and downs and try many things before we really settle in and figure out what is right for us---just seems to be part of the process.

I tried the sneezing thing that Liz mentioned---didn't get me over the hump! Although I haven't weighed for quite awhile so maybe I'll do that soon and make sure to have a sneezing attack first!

You don't have to miss us---come visit often---we're always here!

Winifred---of course your kids worry about you, just like you worry about them. They love you and want to see you happy! You can change your life around---we just have to take it a moment at a time and keep getting up when we fall, as long as we keep at it the 'magic' will happen!

Sleep was much better last night---asleep 3 hours, up for about 20-30 min, then fell asleep on the couch for another 3 hours. Hopefully this is the beginning of getting back to normal...well, at least normal for me!

Well, we walked in the local parade today, pretty decent exercise. The weather was perfect. We grilled out tonight and had the folks over along with a couple extra kids. Right now, I don't feel like talking about food or eating plans. Not bad, not good. Just . . . mediocre.

Hey everybody!

DH took me out for my birthday dinner last night. We ate at a fantastic sushi buffet. Really high quality stuff. I very rarely eat rice but I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! And I even had 1 huge french fry. It's been years since I've had a fry and it was pretty darn good. It was weird...but one was enough.

Today, I'm back on plan. I enjoyed eating off plan but I know that I feel so much better with proteins, veggies, and healthy fats.

I decided before we went that I would eat whatever I wanted and would not feel guilty. The funny thing is that I didn't overeat...I had no desire to pig out. I just ate what looked good and took my time to savor the food.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Heck, if all you had off plan was rice and a fry, that wasn't too bad.

Hey ladies!

Vicki---
Quote:

How fun walking in a parade! I haven't even been to one for....hmmm, not sure when the last one was. So how are things going with the sale of the house? Are you getting back into the groove of being back at work?

Liz---sounds like a fabulous b-day celebration! You haven't had fries in years?! Well I'm glad it was a good one then!

Sleep remains poor---however I have had incredible energy this weekend and have gotten a lot done. But today I was so wound up I was starting to feel a little crazy/manic or something. That of course resulted in some serious overeating tonight....almost loss of control but when I decided to just go with it instead of fight it I was able to finally put an end to it. The sad thing is, I will likely get a great night of sleep tonight. Not that I don't want the sleep---but it reinforces that overeating (unless to a major extreme) will result in getting some decent sleep....sigh... I think I need to just decide that when I've had more than 3 nights in a row of poor sleep that I'm going to have a big meal with a lot of complex carbs---but planned so it's much more healthy than unplanned stuff and probably much less calorically as well. Anyway, as much as I don't want to be rewarded for overeating---I really do want to sleep!!

And with that said---I think I will go start getting ready for bed.

Oh yeah---any of you ever used a groupon before? I signed up about a month ago but never bought one. Now they keep sending me $$ off my first one---first was 10.00, now 15.00.....so they are starting to reel me in! Just wondering what anyones experiences have been with them?

Nighty night!

Winifred--I'm soooo glad that everything is OK!! I bet your family is so relieved!! So now it's just on to weight loss so you keep having a clean bill of health! I know, sounds easy but it's not....but you can do it!! Just load up on lots of good healthy low carb stuff and tell the family if they want you around and healthy than all the other not so healthy stuff needs to be consumed by them elsewhere.

Nothing much new here---work is gearing up to the full peak of craziness early this year...but maybe that means we aren't at the full peak and it's gonna get worse---yikes! Temps plumeted today. We were in the high 80's and 90's and today maybe 65-70 and it's freezing! Going to eat dinner than thinking about a nice hot bath.

Hi everybody

I'm feeling very hormonal and VERY hungry. It is so hard not to graze or even binge when I feel like this. I need to go to the store and I plan to get a lot of lower calorie/carb snacks in case I get the munchies. I've been liking raw cauliflower and sugar snap peas dipped in ranch. Also a few baby carrots.

WINIFRED...I'm SO happy to learn that your heart test came out ok! That is wonderful news! You have so many people that love you and want you healthy. Just a suggestion....put a picture of your beautiful family/grands on your refrigerator. Whenever you want to eat off plan just looking at all of those great reasons to stay on plan might help.

TERESA.... can you please send some of that cooler weather my way? it is still in the upper 80's. I'm really ready for cooler weather!

How is your sleep going? I hope it is getting better.

I have used groupon before for a restaurant that I wanted to try. It saved me 50%
I think it can be a really good thing HOWEVER don't buy one and forget to use it (happened to me!) Let us know if you buy one. Maybe they'll do a horseback riding one??

VICKI & CYNDY...

Happy Saturday all! Just got home from the office....was there almost 7 hours. Grrrrrrr. Although I got everything caught up (or as caught up as possible) except 1 big thing that I brought home to work on, so I'm feeling better about work right now.

Winifred----so how is your weekend going? Did you end up getting out the other day to stock up on low carb foods and snacks? Do you use Linda Sue's recipe site much? I bet there would be tons of recipes there that your family would love!

Liz---sleeping is going quite a bit better, although I get a couple nights of 6 then a night of 3. But I hope it's getting back on track. I realized I'm taking a lot of B vitamins right now and I'm also taking MSM---all in hopes of keeping all of my hair from falling out. But after doing some reading all of it has a tendency to keep you awake and high energy....thus my strange productivity level and manic feelings and no sleep. So I'm trying to contain taking any of these to morning or noon and that seems to have helped a ton.

So how are you doing with the hungries? I hate when that happens! Sadly for me what I really want when I'm in those moods is pb and chocolate and the longer I try to put it off the more I end up eating .....so I'm trying to just incorporate those into my meals when the hungry/cravy kind of day happens.

Thanks for the info on the groupon--I think I will check it out! I'm guessing there are some that probably only cost 15 bucks so I'll see if there is one of those that I want and get it---then if it doesn't work out it won't have cost me anything (since I have 15 off my first groupon).

Do any of you ever check your credit score? I honestly never have, even though I've been told tons of times that I should and that I should get my credit reports yearly to make sure everything is accurate. Anyway, I recently got a new credit card...only because I could get 30 bucks off a purchase if I did! Anyway, my credit rating is good but they listed on there some things to improve it---or really what keeps it from being even better. Very interesting. I think I knew some of these things at one point, like long ago when I bought a house, but I just kind of forgot. Like I have quite a few cards, but most have nothing on them. I need to get rid of those. And I really only use one but I keep the balance pretty high. The best option of course is to pay it off but if not than I would be better off spreading that same debt across a few cards. Anyway, I thought it was kind of interesting and something that I'm going to try to work on.

OK, kitty is sitting on my hand again which is making this very difficult to say the least. Moving 17 lbs up and down when I'm trying to type is not very fun---but probably good exercise for my fingers.

Well, threw the kitty off for a minute so I can make a confession....I think I am becoming an extreme couponer! OK, actually I'm trying hard not to because I can see how these people become obsessed and hoarders---but it's actually kind of a 'sport' or hobby if you will. I just keep trying to remind myself that even if it's free or only pennies---if I'm not going to use it, why get it? I think I will start focusing a bit on things that I can contribute to food banks and different charitable things we do at work but the other stuff I need to just say 'no' to....but the lure of free is hard to ignore!

Hi,thanks Liz and Teresa.Yes I got stocked up ,now I think i'm gonna get some celery and cauilflower for snacking withy ranch dressing.Anything to keep me on plan so when i get hungry i got the right foods at hand.

So does anyone have plans for the weekend? I'm taking it easy,i went to orthopedic doc friday and he is reffering me to birmingham, alabama to see one of the specialist he works with on special patients.I was told that maybe its other ways to get my knee replacement there or to get some solution. My knees have gotten worse and its no way at my weight he can do the replacement because he does regular knee operations and if he did mine the plastic in the center would shift under the pressure of my weight then he would have to take it out and he could not put another replacement in,then i couldn't walk. But he feels like something needs to be done now so i can be more active to lose the weight, because by not moving i'm just gaining more weight. If it will get me up and from leaning on this walker i'm all for it.The nurse will call me when she gets everything in place.I just pray it can be done.I'll keep you posted when i find out more.

Teresa i'm glad you are sleeping more.Coupon shopping is a plus you are saving money.

Hi Winifred! Wow---I hope that the specialist can help you!! Definitely keep us posted. Being able to move without pain I'm sure would help with weight loss but it will also just help improve quality of life---I really hope they can help you!!

Still nothing new here. Time is flying. The holidays are going to be here before we know it!! Work is crazy busy but it's the kind of busy that I thrive on so all's good. Still working on the home reorg project and making progress every weekend so I'm happy about that. AND---I slept 7.5 hours last night!! That probably means I won't sleep again for another week, but who cares, it felt great!

WOW Teresa - I can't remember the last time I slept 7.5 hours. Awesome! I know B vitamins are for energy and if you take them later in the day, it probably was what caused at least part of the problem. So "good for you" finding a solution. Hope your sleepytimes continue!

I'm not doing too badly. Doing driver's ed right now and don't have a day off until Oct. 6, so I'm pretty worn out by the time I get home. Grab a protein and a veggie and it's about bedtime. Keeps me on plan. Check out the stats!! I'm in a new decade!!

One thing I'm really missing is my exercise though. Can't even ride my bike to work because I have to leave for class straight from work. It's a 45-min. commute each way, so that adds four hours to my regular work day. Oh well, helps with the bills and I do have fun being with those 15-year-olds.

I'm working on refinancing my home, so the mortgage company did a credit rating for me. I was amazed. It came in much higher than it did when I bought my house eight years ago. I heard that it's not good to cancel all the cards you don't use all at once. If you get a renewal, just don't activate it and then you can cancel it six months or so down the road. I have two cards that I use, one that gives me a nice cash back bonus (1% on everything and 5% on special things each quarter, like groceries and gas). That adds up pretty quickly and I just use it as a credit on my payment. The other card I have a lower balance on and it's through my bank, so I try to keep it paid off every month. When I lived in the city, I had a card for every store and I've gradually gotten rid of those over the 10 years I've been back in my hometown.

Winifred - Hoping and praying the doc finds a solution for you. I know it sounds like you're in a "Catch 22" right now, but stay the course. The idea of putting the family pic on the frig is a good one. Seeing the faces of all those lovely grandkids every time you go to open that door will have you grabbing the celery every time. Every little loss will make a big difference on those knees of yours. I can't believe how much better I can get around now that I've had my hip replaced and the weight loss is sure to have something to do with it. Best of luck and know that we're with you every step of the way!

Hi Liz - Good luck sticking to the acceptable munchies. I saw someone talking about PB2 on another thread and checked it out on amazon. Looks like something I might try down the road. It's powdered peanut butter and has 3 net carbs in two tblsp. Might be good in smoothies with unsweetened almond milk or maybe you can bake with it. Have you ever used it? Just curious.

Wher'yat Vicki? I was out of here for a little while lately, but now I'm back and hoping you're doing okay! If you're in here lurking, let us know. Inquiring minds need to know what's up!!

So I go to the doc Friday for the one-year all-clear checkup. Hoping to give him a big surprise on the scale from when he saw me six months ago. Of course, it's not my weight that he cares about, but still....

I'll let y'all know how I do. "Talk" to you soon.

Morning ladies---it's Thursday!!

Well, sleep went down hill after Sunday night. But I did get 4.5 last night so that's a little bit more normal for me. Need to get back to 6 and I'll be very happy.

Cyndy---congrats on the new decade!!! I LOVE new decades!! Thanks for the info on the credit stuff---I was actually thinking of trying to find some time and canceling all the cards I don't use (and yep, several are dept store ones) but maybe I'll spread it out over the next year. Think I'll try to do a little research on that this weekend and get a game plan. So do you work on the weekends too or do you at least get those off? You definitely need some time to unwind with those long hours!

Winifred---yay for getting all those healthy things and staying on plan! I hope you get a call soon from the Dr and that the specialist ends up being able to help you out. Any plans for the weekend? Will you get to see the grands? I remember awhile back you were doing some hunting for good prices for a vacation---I'm thinking to FL maybe...did you find something?

Well, need to get back to work. We are stretched so thin right now and our team is really struggling. Not a lot I can really directly do to help them except to be available when I'm not in meetings and of course to get them lots of treats to keep their energy up!

Has everyone been having crazy weather lately? We've gone from the 90's to the 60's to the 80's and diving back into the 60's tomorrow---all in a weeks time! I'm glad I don't suffer from allergies or joint pain or anything that the weather seems to affect. Several of my team members do and they're miserable about now.

Have a good day ladies and if I don't get here tomorrow I'll definitely check in this weekend....from the office.

Hey everybody!

Sorry I've been MIA. I've had a horrible migraine and TOM. I had to take meds which made my blood pressure go way down. I'm starting to feel better but still tired.

I'm going out of town for the weekend so I probably won't be able to post.

I wanted to check in. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the wonderful weather! I love this time of year!!!!

Hope you are feeling better Liz,I don't like migranes. The nurse called and I have appt for jan.18th its the soonest they had.I will go to birmingham for xrays and then see the dr. richard sanders,he will let me know at that time if he can do the surgery,i guess he only does most severe cases, his nurse told the nurse here he does do ex obese total knee replacements and has did many.So I can wait 4 months it will go by fast i hope.No plans for the weekend just going to church.Besides my knees hurting my shoulders are still aching, but the doctor said its because of my knees,i'm putting more weight on the walker to move so its more effort for my shoulders. So I'm taking it easy so i can not use the walker to save my shoulders. As I lose it will get better I hope.

Hey ladies!

Liz---sorry about the migraine and TOM. Hope you have a great weekend and get your buns back here soon!! Hey---have I told you that you can 'stack' coupons at WF? I scored some stuff for free and some other stuff for very cheap today! This couponing thing can be quite dangerous!

Winifred--I'm so glad you got an appt!! I'm sure you would like it to be sooner, I know I would, but it's kind of nice that it's not until after the holidays. And you're right, the time will fly, it always does at this time of year.

Long day---at the office half of it and then out shopping and scooping up bargains for a few hours. Tomorrow hoping to hang out at home and just get some cleaning and relaxing done although I also have a few errands to run....hmmmm, hopefully there will be time for relaxing at some point because next week is going to be insane! I also need to grill out---haven't done that much lately and it's starting to get really chilly. I'm thinking a burger or salmon on the grill sounds like a plan!

Hey ladies!

I had a wonderful weekend hanging out with my friends at Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama! The weather was amazing and the scenery and company were even better!!!

I got a reality check when I saw some pictures that were taken of me. YIKES!!! I've been in total denial re. my size/weight. I plan to use this shocking photo as a motivator to EXERCISE and get back on track with food.
It is scary how easily I can go into denial re. weight. I don't have a full length mirror and I haven't been weighing myself.

I've been having a blast with social outings, lunches and dinner parties lately. Unfortunately I've gotten careless with my food choices. I've been eating whatever sounded "good". I've even enjoyed several sweets with real sugar!

Time to get my head out of the sand and face reality. If I want to eat like that I will gain weight VERY quickly.

I have plans every day this week to meet with different friends for lunches. I will make this work by being more careful in what I choose to eat. It is about the companionship NOT the food!!!

TERESA.... That is SO cool that you are stacking coupons at WF! And you got FREE stuff?!?!? I am amazed and would love to know the particulars....where did you find the coupons etc! Please share your secrets!

I hope this week goes quickly and better than anticipated at work!

WINFIRED.... sending you many good thoughts and prayers to get pain relief and better mobility!
How far are you from Birmingham?
Is that doctor with UAB? My DH was at UAB for years. I'll ask if he has heard of that doctor.

CYNDY... I love the PB2! Honestly, it is soooo good that I have portion control issues. It has sugar and it seems to trigger me.

I tend to do better with this one:FitNutz Peanut Butter Mix
It is sweetened with e instead of sugar. I like the little chunks of peanuts but you can also get it smooth. I mix it with a bit of greek yogurt to get a delish creamy texture.

I hope you get an awesome weigh in at the doctor's office!!!1 :jump joy:

VICKI..... I hope you're doing well. Please come back and post when you can. I'm on a slippery slope and already feel better posting for accountability.

Here is a recipe I plan to try. My hubby's colleague is vegan and I'm looking for some tasty and acceptable recipes. I think this one looks pretty good and very healthy

I'm so ready for fall weather, beautiful foliage and winter SQUASH!!!!

Roasted Butternut Squash with Kale and Almond Pecan Parmesan

Ingredients (4 side servings)
Squash mixture
0.9 kg -1.13 kg (2-2.5 pound) butternut squash
2 lg. cloves garlic, minced
2-3 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp fine grain sea salt
1 cup de-stemmed and roughly chopped Lacinato kale
Almond Pecan Parmesan “cheese”
1/4 cup almonds
1/4 cup pecans
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/8th tsp fine grain sea salt
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400F and lightly grease a casserole dish with oil.
2. Peel the squash. Thinly slice off the bottom and top and then slice through the middle lengthwise to make two halves. Remove seeds & guts with a grapefruit spoon or ice cream scoop. Chop two halves into 1-inch chunks and place into casserole dish.
3. Add minced garlic, parsley, oil, and salt into casserole dish and stir until well combined with the squash. Do not add the kale yet.
4. Cover casserole dish with a lid (or tin foil with a few holes poked) and bake at 400F for about 45 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, process the parmesan ingredients together until chunky (or just chop by hand and mix in a bowl). Make sure to leave lots of nut pieces for texture. I used a mini processor and it worked great with minimal clean up.
6. After about 45 mins (or when squash is just fork tender), remove from the oven and reduce heat to 350F. Stir in the chopped kale and sprinkle the parmesan all over the squash. Bake for another 5-8 minutes, until the nuts are lightly toasted. Watch closely so you don’t burn them. Remove from the oven and serve immediately!

Does anyone buy PB or nut butters from Trader Joe's?

If so, please do a search for the PB recall. There is a problem with salmonella contamination.

Here is something from online:
Quote:
A New Mexico-based company is recalling 76 types of peanut butter and almond butter after one of its products was linked to a salmonella outbreak at Trader Joe's groceries.

Sunland Inc. recalled the products under multiple brand names after the Food and Drug Administration and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention linked 29 salmonella illnesses in 18 states to Trader Joe's Creamy Salted Valencia Peanut Butter. Sunland manufactures and packages the Trader Joe's product.

A Sunland spokeswoman said the company recalled the other peanut and almond butters because they were manufactured with the same equipment as the Trader Joe's product. None of the other products have been linked to illnesses.

Trader Joe's recalled the Creamy Salted Valencia Peanut Butter from its stores Saturday.

YIKES!! I just searched through my cupboards because I have a ton of TJ's Valencia right now....and indeed they are all part of the recall! Thank you so much Liz for that info!! Here is a link to the list of pb's and ab's involved, there are quite a few that aren't TJ's including some of the Archer Farms stuff from Target as well as others.

Trader Joe Peanut Butter Recall Expands - Local News - San Francisco Bay Area, CA - San Francisco, CA | NBC News

Liz--glad you had a great time!! I hate pictures they are always a reality check. I need to get serious too---so let's do it!! I pretty much always gain weight in the Fall/Winter and I usually lose in the Spring/Summer....but this year I gained so if I don't get rid of that and then gain more I'm in big trouble!!

As you know I LOVE winter squash too---so keep those recipes coming! I also keep trying to find ways to add kale to my diet. I'm not a big fan although I like it roasted, it's just a pain imo to roast it so I would love more ideas for incorporating it.

Oh and Liz---on WF's bargains. I take the Whole Deal and look for what coupons they have and then internet search (mostly common kindness and mambo sprouts) for matching coupons. I also look at the weekly sales flyer as sometimes their sales match their own coupons and I internet search for the sales items as well. And of course they have a lot of unadvertised sales so I check those all out too while I'm there and make a 'mental note' of things I want and check for coupons on those later. This weekend I got bags of Plentils (chips made with lentils that taste like bugles to me!) for free, Nature's path waffles for 50 cents a box, Seeds of Change products (premade rice, quinoa, etc. dishes) for 50 cents each, Enjoy Life chocolate chips for 1.20 a bag, Earth Balance pb for 1.00 a jar, Earth Balance mayo for 99 cents.....hmmm, I know there was more but can't remember---but for less than 15 bucks I had a bag stuffed full of goodies. The cashier was quite impressed and kept asking where I found the different coupons!

OK---gotta go and bag up my pb to take back to TJ's tomorrow. Sadly, it was one of my favorite ones from there and I suspect now they won't have it again for awhile. Luckily I have other alternatives which hopefully don't include the possibility of salmonella!

Good morning!

I had a good day yesterday with staying on track with food and exercise!:jump joy: My plan is to eat 3 reasonable whole food based meals without snacks.
I walked 1.5 miles on the treadmill and plan to do 2 miles today.

I have always hated having my picture taken but that "reality check" picture is just what I needed to get back on track! My hatred of pix started off when I was still in diapers. There are only a couple of pictures of me as a kid. In one I am in a diaper running away. Mom said I didn't want my picture taken
I think she just got tired of taking pictures of my older brother. There were hundreds of him and maybe 5 of me. This was in the day before digital cameras and it was a real effort & expense to get the pictures developed.
Gosh, I feel elderly now.

TERESA..... YIKES on the massive quantity of recalled PB! I saw that article on the recall and I immediately thought of you and had a strong intuition that I should post a warning. I guess the fact that you shop at TJ and are a PB addict clued me in. I'm so glad you weren't eating contaminated PB!

I'm DEFINITELY getting serious! So, what is your plan to avoid gaining in the fall/winter? Are you still eating to hunger and, if so, how is it working?
How about exercise?
I bought a cheapie pedometer and I got what I paid for. It adds steps when I sneeze, bend over or laugh too much. Seriously, it adds steps when I sneeze! I was so happy on my first day to discover that I had walked 7 miles around my house. Yeah, dream on sneezy.

Does anyone had a recommendation for a pedometer brand?

VERY cool about your healthy bargains!!!!! I love buying healthy, good quality food and I love getting a bargain! Put the 2 together and I'm practically dancing around!

I think that couponing is fun. (oh gosh I'm glad I caught the auto correct....it changed couponing to coupling)
I've done it before and enjoy the match up and getting the bargains but I don't use 99% of the stuff. I have thought about getting the free/super cheap stuff and giving it to a food pantry.

I hope everyone has a good, on plan day!!!

Hey Liz! Yay on getting back on track! As far as a pedometer, I've had cheapos be great and more expensive ones be crappy---it's really a shot in the dark! There is an omitron one that I was looking into awhile back that had all kinds of functions, probably more than I would want, but it looked good and a lady at worked just loved hers. You might check that brand and see what you can find....I can't remember the particular model but I think you would probably like any of theirs.

Yes and no to eating when hungry. On my 'good days' I'm still doing it, but the last week or so I have been doing way too much mindless eating and letting stress and tempting goodies determine what/when I eat...so I need to get back to it. As far as my plan, I seriously don't know! I think I just need to follow the hunger scale thing fully---i.e. not just waiting for hunger to eat but stopping when hunger is gone or I need to at least get a little closer to that. I also need to get back to more planning and food prep as I have relied too much lately on more convienience type things which just isn't a good plan for me. So this weekend---regardless of how tired I am or how much I don't want to do it---I'm spending time doing food prep! Speaking of that I saw what looks like a good simple recipe in the Whole Deal. It's the turkey meatloaf and roasted green beans. All done on 1 pan which I love. They put maple syrup on the green beans which does not sound a bit appealing so I would probably just mist them with olive oil and add some parm and spices. Anyway, I need to get into more cooking/baking again and put more thought into what I'm eating. That would be a good start!

I fell asleep on the couch when I got home tonight for a couple of hours....lets see if I end up getting any more sleep tonight.

I went to lunch today with a friend but I was good and ordered a grilled chicken salad.

I'm starting to look for squash in stores. Is anyone finding good prices on squash yet? I'm ready to stock up.

Thanks Teresa for the pedometer info. I'll check for the omicron

I'll have to check the whole deal for that recipe. It sounds good and I always love doing just one pan.

What kind of foods are you planning to make this weekend?

Did you get more sleep last night?

I hope everyone is having a good day!
