Taco meat is done. Living in Texas, you can't help but figure out all the good flavors that go into Mexican cooking!

I'm just hanging on to my little cleaning job right here in town. I also plan on babysitting with Eli some to help out DD as she gets further along and needs some down time from a 3 yr. old. LOL
Eliza.....Good for you on fighting those cravings!!!!!! I failed at that once a couple of days ago.
Lony.....GOOD HEAVENS that Bubble Safari is driving me crazy but I just keep going back to it!! What level are you on? I am at 25. It seems that it takes me a few days now to get off of one.

Hi to all.....Have a great evening everyone.

Have Kenny and Ashley been spending more time with you?
they went back home last night after we got back from the doctor's appointment i know Ashley has to work tomorrow
Ken is hoping to get to go to speak with the HR person at work tomorrow i just don't see him up to the ride but we will try i have my moms wheelchair in the wan. IDK if Kenny will try to go or not to help but with Steven home now i don't think we will see as much of Kenny and Ashley
the HR dept is supposed to have a bit of help for situations like this and Ken has always contributed to it and we have to go in person though

Deb, OMG, can't believe they are making you go in person! Send them some pictures and his medical records, for goodness sakes! Hasn't this man suffered enough already from the accident, waiting for hours at the various doctors, and now has to treck back and forth across the mountain just to present himself to HR.

I can only imagine the pain and discomfort he's been experiencing!

oh to his work won't be over the mountain(other direction even) and for the HR trip i could just go myself, but Ken wants to try and he wants to see his co workers (Ken's idea not the HR dept at work) his leave papers are all in i still don't know how long the docs put down though but maybe we can find out tomorrow?
oh and he is wanting an official job description statement(lol which again i could pick up without him or have mailed) he is afraid of being displaced on his slotting job(they only hold them 12 weeks, he would have a job in the building but maybe not the one he has now after that time, some jobs are really really physically demanding though and the one he currently does isn't as bad as the others)
but yeah those trips to Knoxville are trying for SURE and he probably has one Friday and then he has one to the ortho Monday i think??
his hip is hurting him tonight and since that lady told me yesterday about his right adrenal damage it has me concerned

Deb I am pretty sure with a damaged adrenal gland the pain would be more in his back area. The adrenal glands are above the kidneys. I am willing to bet that his hip hurts because he landed on it. I know this is going to be a long road but you are a strong woman and you are doing great!

Greetings! Tonight is my Friday. Starting off to be a slow night. In almost 2 hours I've only put one patient sample on the machines.

I weighed myself...was expecting bad news since I ate that Atkins bar and so much sodium....but I ended up losing a bit more. 274.8 tonight. Gosh, I've lost 10 pounds since restarting LC only 5 days ago. Wouldn't it be nice if the weight loss was always this fast?

Deb it's good to hear from you. Hang in there. It sounds like Ken is getting better slowly but surely.

Lony I hope you have a fun and safe trip back to Idaho.

Eliza I gave up all Facebook games a long time ago...like over a year or maybe more? I blocked them so I wouldn't be tempted. haha! I found myself spending 3 hours a day on Farmville. Eghads! That time is better spent working on my LC lifestyle. Gosh it's so much work doing all the shopping and cooking and cleaning!

Chewie hope your procedures go well and you are home, eating white chicken chili soon.

Sue I didn't realize your ice cream job was only for the summer. Well it was good while it lasted....and gave you a good opportunity to get a lot of walking in!

KCMama what is on your busy agenda for today?

Hi Linda! Hi to anyone else I missed.

Thinking of you today Chewie....You also Deb!!!!!
Eliza....a couple of yrs. back I was playing Farmville when it was so big. I got to the point
where I would get up in the middle of the night to take care of my plants so they wouldn't wilt!!!!!!! I knew at that time it was time to go cold turkey and quit playing it. I am about to quit another I am playing that is to involved also. You can waste a lot of time on them for sure. Of course you can on Pintrest also if you are not careful!!!

Time for work!!!!

Deb, that sounds like great news. Ken may just now be feeling his hip. I had a bathtub accident a few years ago and tore up a knee. About two weeks later my shoulder started hurting. I asked why it didn't hurt at the time and the orthos explanation was the body can only take so much pain at a time, and now that my knee was a little better, the pain from the shoulder was starting.

Lony, I read this on another site and am sure the lady wouldn't mind me sharing publicly. I don't know her personally, but she has a little boy I pray for who has horrendous medical problems. Any leads for her?
Matt has 5 months experience working on an oil rig, and 15 years experience working in the water service/maintenance industry. We'd prefer for him to be in the oil business rather than water as the water industry doesn't pay enough to support our family's many financial needs.

Please contact me via e-mail at jmdard0406@yahoo.com with any information you are willing to share. Like I said, we are begging here. If you know anyone, please pass along Matt's information. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please pray that something comes along soon. Two months without a job is very scary to anyone, but especially anyone in our situation.

Lucky I e mail you. He need to check in Willison North Dakota for oil rig jobs. They are big business up there.

Mike is working more on methane gas wells but I will send you the information for his recuriter. Sanjel is hard to get on with, but if Matt has a CDL, a squeaky clean driving record and no background issues I would be more than happy to help.

I will talk to some of the guys that work in williston full time and get the names of more companies for ya!

Can't believe that it is already after noon!

Deb so glad to hear from you. I am so sorry for all the unplanned stuff you are having to deal with. Glad to know Ken is slowly making progress. Will keep praying and thinking of you and Ken.

Chewie, hope things went smoothly today and you got a "clean" report.

Eliza, I just saw that Staples will have a Teacher Appreciation Day. First 100 teachers get a free gift bag. from what I can tell there are 4 or 5 locations in your large metro area on Aug 11 in the morning. You can prob google for more details and a location near you.

Well, that was a long day and poor Lony was sending out a search party for me

First I had to go get my car inspected, then off to city courthouse to renew my car tabs. I pull a number, wait 20 min (the longest 20 min of my life...), then my number is finally called. I prance over to the lady, happily handing my papers, who were all in order, and she tells me how much I owe. I pull my debit card, and then I hear ....we no longer accept Card X brand here, just cash, check, or the other two types of cards that nobody has...whaaaaa????

I start ruffling through my wallet, but I never carry cash or checks, and all my cards happen to be guess what .... Card X! So I put my tail between my legs, and slink out to look for the nearest ATM. After I found one and got some cash out, I drove back, got another number, and had to wait another 30 min because one of the windows had closed ....At that time, I developed a twitch in my right eye, which, thankfully, has now subsided....

Then, I went to Target and had me a venti breve iced latte (half-caf, due to the twitch in my eye) and blissfully spent the next two hours buying 2 dozen odds and ends for my classroom (dang you Pinterest) most of which were covered in glitter. And some glittery warm fuzzies pom poms..... I will have a very glittery classroom this year. Life is too short not to live among glitter, who cares what people think and if glitter is appropriate for a serious educational institution.

2 hours later (I swear it felt more like 30 min) I headed to Ross, which is in the same shopping plaza. I found some beautiful new draperies for my formal living area (90-inch length, I have 9 foot ceilings) and a beautiful 120-inch curtain rod that I'm planning on stretching over both windows. That trip took another few hours, and so by the time I emerged and checked my phone, Lony had called in the search party.
