I have gotten a little bit of necessary outside work done. I planted my rosemary, some marigolds, a petunia plant. I rinsed out my recycle bin as today was trash/recycle pickup day, and I have emptied out a couple of leftover bags of topsoil. I also watered plants.

Stripped kids' beds and those sheets are in laundry. Put away clean dishes. Beds are all made. DS is home from his morning final. Will be off in an hour to field day.

You guys must all be busy too. Really quiet around here!

Got home from work a little while ago. Now it's my 3-day weekend. Yay! I scored quite a few boxes from work this week. I'm seriously going to try and start packing.

Mona, I knew several months in advance before we moved. Instead of packing, I purged. I got rid of a lot of "stuff" and it made the actual packing go much faster. Of course, I did pack pictures and other non-essentials.

My ankles are not swollen as much, but the tops of my feet are swollen. I am in yellow gardening crocs at work.

took a sorta nap and then got a call from the VA computer! apparently Ken has ANOTHEE appointment Friday over there as well!! good grief! with gas the way it is and the detour this is beyond crazy

Good morning ladies. Sorry I've been out of touch this week, it's just been one thing after another. Work has been busy and I've changed my hours there so I'm going in to open everyday now, but luckily I get off at one thirty so that's a big plus. Somehow I got the flu this week so I've been trying to fight that off. Not feeling good at all, no appetite yet I'm hungry and nothing tastes good except diet orange soda. I try to eat a little just to keep my strength up but it tastes like ash in my mouth. It would figure I have a three day weekend coming up and yet I'm sick.

Morning All.

Well, I have accomplished very little so far. Took dd to school and dh to work. Have been catching up on reading on my blogs. Enjoying the peace and quiet for as long as possible. Kiddos get out of school today around 10:45 for summer vacation!!! Cloudy here but rain not expected which is too bad as we need it again! Although it was quite warm here yesterday--made it up to 91--the humidity was 49% so it was very tolerable and very very windy. Humidity supposed to go up today due to front coming through from Texas. Ugh. Thanks a lot Texas!!

Will have to get ds to finish the couple of pages he has left on his Eagle Project Report. He only has a few questions to answer but he hates sitting down to write anything. He works tonight at Five Guys, has an Eagle project to help on in the morning, then 7 hours of Lifeguard Recertification on Friday, SAt another EAgle project, then working either at Five Guys or the pool (it is opening a day early) or perhaps working at both. So he has to fit this in as he has a meeting with his Eagle Advisor on Wed.

Deb, wow, that was some landslide! I have been on that highway a couple of times. Sure glad I wasnt when it happened. When was it? Were any people hurt?

Good luck with the Audiologist. I can't imagine they should be allowed to take away his hearing aids. I would go straight to the department head, then to the head of the VA, and finally to the Veteran's Affairs office before heading home if they do. Don't let them have his aids! Hope all goes smoothly.

HOWDY ALL! back from Knoxville! gotta do it again in the morning but i think i got most of my shopping done at the walmart over there(and they had a lot more variety of stuff than ours) spent way too much money but that is one step closer to getting to make doggie treats tomorrow

I tried to get into the doctor today, but can't be seen until Tuesday afternoon. I am keeping my 2 year old granddaughter Friday and Saturday so there won't be much time to keep my feet up.

Good Morning Sunshines!! It is going to be a beautiful rainy day. It is my last offical work day. I am going to be a kept woman, kept very busy!

I was sad to have to turn in my work phone, I loved it. Mike insisted that I get the identical phone for my personal use hehehe I am spoiled.

I am really sorry I have not been in lately. Things are just getting a bit hetic around here.

Hi all. Waving from South Padre Island. It is gorgeous here. We left Wed at 4:30---stopped 4 times and made it to Austin about 1 am. Accckkk Tiring. Then left yesterday morning at 9:30 and got to SPI at abou 2. We got stopped for the TX highway patrol Wed night but only got a warning. Dh was told he was hogging the left lane and you're only supposed to pass and get back right. Tee hee. Officer was nice and made small talk.

DS13 has been fishing at the beach last night ang this morning. We had a great seafood dinner at a lil place and it was very very good. Tonight there is fireworks and a free concert on the beach to celebrate the Memorial day weekend. It is getting busier by the minute here. Our hotel is wonderful---better than I thought. We have a mini suite---one giant room with 2 queen beds, a mini kitchen w/frig, 2 burners, micro, coffeemaker, sofa bed, little table and chairs and a desk. Plus we have another bedroom with another queen bed. Hard to believe it only costs $120 a night and free breakast too. I'm impressed.

I'm tired though. Didn't sleep much first night---got to sleep about 2:30 and then dh couldn't sleep so he got up at 6:30 so that's not much sleep. I did sleep a bit in the car on the way here.

You've all been quiet. Lucky, hope you get into the docs soon.

Eliza--are you done with school? How much do you teach this summer?

Lony--when do you leave?

Deb--good luck with doing Kenny's room. That's hard I'm sure. But just think, in a few years, you can set it up for grandbabies.

Ok, gotta go. I forgot my hat--very windy here so I need one. Can't even let my long hair out of a pony cause it'll be a mess of knots. Dh also forgot his. LoL Always forget things.

The doctors office called last night that I have diabetics. I think what ever is going on with my feet may be causing my sugar to go up. They are putting me on glucophage and a monitor and suprise, suprise, a low carb diet. They say I can have 30 carbs per meal. They didn't listen when I told them I have been doing 30 carbs a day. This is not what making me swell all over.

Lucky, so frustrating for you! Would it help to go to the Mayo website and try to put in your symptoms and see if you get any more info that way that you could then share with your doc?

Chewie sounds like an awesome place! My dh and ds should be in the area in a bit less than a month. I really liked South Padre when we were there. Hope you get some rest and have a good time.

Lony, you having lots of good bye parties? When will you be buying a new trailer? I read about a group of ladies who have travel trailers and get together periodically around the country. A traveling sisterhood -- Sisters on the Fly--website is same name. You might want to hang onto your little trailer, who knows! Check them out. The Kansas City Star Star Magazine did a big spread on them complete with photos of their restored travel trailers so if you can't find photos online at their site you should be able to access info through the Star. Sounds and looks like fun!

We had thunderstorms here this a.m. and finally got some much needed rain. Two inches in my rain guage. Yay! Quite a few loud thunder and lightning bolts as well.

glad you are having fun! but i think you misunderstood about Kenny's room. it already can't ever be a bedroom again that is where Ken cut the wall through to the new part of the house he built
the problem i have is getting all my junk cleaned up to be able to cut and sew the vest for Steven and THE FUZZ and dust and clutter and etc
it has a huge desk and my sewing table in it plus tons of STUFF
