Em, I am trying very hard not to cater....last nite was rough, I was having a pity party.....I told my husband, I can't walk, I can't go anywhere, I am having up and down pain and I just wanna eat.....all my favs but I didn't....I settled for a handful of walnuts..which I am not crazy about....I am fortunate that the pain doesn't arrive till afternoon and subsides when I lie down....it comes and goes too...if it were constant.....I would already be in the river floating towards New Orleans...fish meal.hahahahah Today at 9 I get the injection and to tell the truth....I hate the thought....gotta put my big gurl panties on for this.....everyone I have talked to says its a piece of cake....I just hav big issues with needles....

Hope you all have a happy Monday.....made it the best day you can....

June. If you can let us know how you are doing, please do so. I hope the injections work. My dad's dr. is wanting him to do them also, but he's had them a few times before and he said they didn't work, but that's been years and years ago.

Nikki I feel ya girlie, it's not fair to see gains just because of TOM. It sucks. I've been doing all I can, but still at 224.6. What are ya gonna do Push on to see another day.

My whole body is sore from body combat for the past 4 days. Today I have a step class which I'm welcoming with open arms. My arms need a rest lol. Getting as much exercise in as I can because I doubt I will get much until Saturday.

IDK about my menu today so I'll post when I know. So far:
B-coffee, sweet n low, lemon glucc pudding.
L-eggs or possibly an egg over veggie/tofu hash
S-2tbsp hummus on about 1 oz of ham.
D-IKD.

I lost .6 lbs today (feels like cheating, counting less than a lb, but hey). Down to 188.6, which is lowest so far this time. Eating too many EXPENSIVE Quest bars, at least one a day, but I guess they are helping me keep on plan. Otherwise, doing pretty well.

Oh, and Michelle--I finally went to Big Lots here and they had a lot of really good stuff--tuna, sardines (which I can't eat, but hey) the flax meal, which I didn't buy cause I don't know yet what to do with it, and really low-priced pork skins, except not the salt and vinegar ones I was looking for. Stocked up on dollar-a-bottle energy shots. Totally needed those. So Big Lots goes on my list now for sure.

How did everybody's day go?

I count every single ounce Emlyn. Take it!

So glad you liked Big lots. I love it. The flax, I use it for flax bread mostly, you can make crackers and other baked goods with it.

I love the energy shots, only the grape though. It reminds me of the Dimatap cough medicine we took as kids lol. Before they changed the formula. I used to think it tasted so good. I'm weird I know.

My day was alright, went to body step, but man, I fought it all the way. The lady is crazy, half the class couldn't keep up. I swear the instructor is on speed or meth or something. There is no way a regular person can just go like that. I was cussing the whole time lol. I really hate her class.

Michelle--

But you went, and you did it. That's the great part. Am so amazed that you are doing all these really HARD gym classes. You go, girl!

Curious what flax bread recipe you'd recommend. Is there one on your website? I've been there, but a while back, when everything was more overwhelming to me. I'm getting used to the idea of all these "weird" ingredients, but live somewhere where pretty much would have to order them and want to make sure before I buy. So, any suggestions about flax bread would be welcome.

My energy shots are Worx brand and apparently have no flavor, or at least it isn't on the bottle! I'll let you know when I find out. Probably something gaggy. Love cough syrup, though...

Well the basic OMM recipe (one minute muffin), is the base for flax bread.

1 egg
2tbsp flax meal
dash of baking powder
1tsp melted butter or coconut oil (it doesn't really need the oil though)

Whatever spices or sweetener you want. If you want a sweeter muffin, add some sugar free vanilla syrup, cinnamon, etc... If you want a more savory muffin, add garlic powder, onion powder, etc... Anyhoo, mix it all in coffee mug and cook it in the microwave for 1 minute. Eat with butter or split in half and use as a "bun".

This is the basic recipe, but you can make bigger batches of batter and bake in the oven in bread like shapes, or bun shapes, or in muffin tins.

221.8. Yesssssssss. Finally got to move my ticker and my details off of 222.8. Tom is gone thankfully and some water is going with it. Right now, I'm only 1.2lbs above my all time LC low of 220.6.

I know my ticker/sig/and goal for this summer challenge is 199, but really, I want to see 214. The lowest I've been as an adult in my whole life is 215 when I was 18, and it didn't last terribly long.

I'm thinking about getting my tongue pierced when I hit 214 as a reward, and extending my shoulder tattoo as a reward when I hit 199.

Thanks Michelle! I am now the proud owner of a huge bag of Bob's Red Mill flaxseed meal. Definitely going to make some OMMs now. So, thanks!

And congrats on the loss! And on moving your ticker! I would be too chicken to get my tongue pierced, but whatever floats your boat. And I love the idea of rewarding yourself in small ways for reaching significant goals. I need to dream up a reward for when I get in the 170s...

Hang in there, June!

Nikki--Hi! I know you're doing good and hanging in, too.

I weighed the same today as yesterday, but it's good to maintain the loss. Off to eat out now at a "pub," which may be hard, but I looked up the menu online and they have some surprisingly good choices. Anyone here ever eat Buffalo Chicken Wings when you go out? I'd be scared they breaded the wings. Guess I could ask... And there's a great Pub Salad with all their meats and cheeses on it. So that sounds pretty good.

See y'all later!!!

How's everybody doing! I guess Michelle is traveling. June, you there? Nikki?

I overate when I went to the pub last night. Had the chicken wings, asked they be fried without breading, and when they came I couldn't tell if they were or not. Anyway, the sauce was fantastic, and tasted like it didn't have any sugar or anything bad in it, but I also had several beers. Sigh. Just not a good destination for me. Still, damage was minimal and I was back on track today.

Just a shake for breakfast & lunch, and a grilled shrimp caesar salad with shaved parmesan and no croutons for dinner. I know Atkins has some objection to shrimp, but that's only in induction, right? I love shrimp!

Hope everyone is okay!

Well, I would have, but they had limited lite beer choices. I did order lite beer, but it had 5 carbs per bottle. Still, better than regular!

Still, it's worth checking out other places. I need to remember about Michelob Ultra.

Thanks!

Good morning ladies!

Laura, congrats on the new low weight and on being down 100!! I'm glad you posted, I have miss you.

This morning I stepped on the scale and saw 215.4, I got off and stepped on again and saw the same number. So I run to get my camera and do it again and it said 216.2. I thought oh the camera, put it down and still got 216.2. So for now I'm still at 99 lbs lost. I guess I have to wait for TOM to leave before earning my 100 lb weight loss celebration.

I have a great Friday my friends! to all!

Back in town, had to cut the trip short, but glad to be back.

Laura, glad to see you. Congrats on 100lbs lost, that's such a huge milestone!

Nikki, honey, lemme tell you, we must have been channeling each other this morning. I was so confident I would be in the teens this morning. I did as best I could with water and coffee to keep the retention to a minimum, although I did have some salty cracklins twice, so I knew it was possible to be up, besides a bit of restaraunt food which we all know they salt terribly. I had my camera ready, cleaned my scale off so you guys wouldn't see a pic of a dirty scale and...

Anyhoo, stepped on the scale, 219.6. I always have to "calibrate" my scale, so I got on it again. 220.6 Again, 220.6 One more time after cussing...220.6 And then proceeded to give my scale a nice kick across the bathroom

We will get there Nikki, in a few days, a few days. I just wanted the teens, but yall know I want 214. My all time low as an adult, hit it when I was 18 and it didn't last long. I'm wanting it so bad.

So, haven't exercised since Monday, although eating has been good. Depending on what the day brings (could possibly go back out of town gambling, although, I think i rather stay home and focus on this weight loss number), so tentatively, Body combat at 5:30, body combat at 9am tomorrow, and at 2:30 sunday.

Will come back to post menu.

awwww Nikki and Michelle..I am sorry the scale wouldn't cooperate and keep the number you had hit. It WILL happen and I'm cheering for you both! Thanks for the support and encourgaement.

I "calibrate" my scale too and I swear it jiggles the numbers just for the heck of it. Many times I have cursed it and wanted to kick it and do other things to it like use it as a boat anchor...or see how it would melt on a bonfire...etc. *L* but then it does things like recently going down each day even a tiny bit so I guess I'll keep it awhile longer. *L*

Personally, I'm wondering if the weight loss has anything to do with the fact that I'm more relaxed and have been seeing someone. He's been very supportive-no carb/food sabotage, offering to exercise with me-although we haven't done that yet but he offered to walk at a track in a park nearby with me, and he's being really sweet and accepting about my surgery and weight, and food I can eat vs. not eat, etc. He makes me smile and feel good most of the time which is a nice change but I'm trying to go slow. He was super sweet and made sure to be the first person to wish me a happy birthday today and asked me what I would like as a present and I only just started dating him about a week ago even though we had gone out a handful of times back in the Fall of 2010..but then his mom died unexpectedly and things kinda unraveled and he withdrew as he mourned her loss. I was very surprised when he contacted me out of the blue a couple of days before St Patrick's day...

Thanks Michelle. *hug*

I wasn't sure what to say about the dating thing because I wasn't sure there would be anything to tell..especially since things hadn't worked out before and I am scared about getting hurt as well but I'm willing to go slow. So Far so Good, though.

I forgot to respond to this the other day. I had my tongue pierced when I was 17, so I'm not worried about it, I know what it feels like. It's really not that bad. I'm a bit of a masochist though, sad to admit it. When I'm feeling really upset, overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed, it makes me feel better to have a little pain. I used to be a cutter for years, but have learned not to do that. Still, on occasion pain makes me feel better, but I have learned to do it in healthier ways, like piercings, tattoos, and massive amounts of exercise

The worse was my nose, it hurt like a bleeeeeeeeeep. Felt like I got punched in the nose. When I started gaining all my weight I took all my piercings out and kind of fell apart and lost myself.

I got my ears re-pierced in October, 2 holes at the bottom, and then my cartlidge pierced at the top of my left ear. I haven't decided if I want my nose done again, but I think I do want my tongue done.

My ankle tattoo hurt pretty bad too. It's right on the bone. I'm going to get my shoulder tattoo extended, I got it in december, it's a memorial tattoo for my grandmother, but I want to add on to it.

Here is the tattoo I got in Dec. that I plan on adding on to. (and what I wrote when I posted it in our last years thread, I just quoted it)

So here's my tattoo. From when he started and the finished product. I love it. More than anything. It means so much to me. It's a memorial tattoo for my grandmother. Her passing was the hardest thing Ive ever had to deal with and it really screwed me up. It's been 13 years next Wednesday and it still feels like a fresh wound. The tattoo is really helping me deal and cope.
