I hear you, Nikki. I was up half a pound today (even after peeing and peeing). Why? Why? Oh, well. You and Michelle did inspire me to go try on jeans at Kohls today and I actually fit into a"relaxed" size 18. They actually looked pretty good, so I bought them. Have been wearing just "flowy" knit type pants, all black, so this is a huge step for me. Thanks guys!

Thanks for the welcome, June! Am so sorry you are having such a rough time. The fact that you're so determined to come back from such a horrible setback is impressive. I would have gotten super-discouraged.

Have been packing and getting ready for trip all evening. Still have to take a shower, as am a sweaty gross mess. Driving all day tomorrow unless weather is too bad. Looks like rain all the way through Louisiana and into Texas tomorrow. We'll see. Looking forward to eating in Austin, though. Am pretty good at low-carbing at restaurants, and we always go to the same places, so I'm prepared. Wish me luck! My goal is to lose another lb while I'm gone (6 days).

Thanks for everything!

Thanks Mel......knit pants....horrors.....sorry but those r part of the reason I gained so much......I was use to wearing jeans...no matter the size I think its easier to watch the weight. I dropped from a very tight 28 to a very tight 20, bounching bk and forth frm 20-22 but being careful not to go beyoun 22.....Once I began treatment(chemo) I bought knit pants to wear to treatment.....after 2 years of treatments and surgeries, I am now back in my jeans regardless of the discomfort. I just bought 2 pairs of 26s , took 2 tucks in the waist and I am ready to go....28s are off to Goodwill , along with the knits..I did keep a couple of knits because of the different tests and scans I hve to hve...but frm now on I am a jeans gal Hope you have a wonderful trip. I hve never been to Austin. Seems like it would be a nice place to visit......be safe....

Yaaaah Nikki. I'm so jealous!

Tom should be here in a day or two and it doesn't matter what I do I'm not losing and gaining. 100% on plan. I need to stay off the scale. That won't happen but I need to.

I'm back up to 226.8 this morning. I guess as long as I stay in the 220's it will be ok for now. But after TOM, body, you better get it together!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. I'm so freaking jealous and proud You are doing so good.

Thanks for the comments about my picture guys. It was 80* here yesterday and I was all summerfied and I was like, eh, I need a new pic. It's supposed to be in the high 70's, low 80s here all week, today it's super foggy I love it. Makes me almost want to go run. Almost.

Today, I'm going to keep my menu as simple as possible because yesterday I ate everything that wasn't bolted down. Salads, miracle rice, a ton of pecans, protein powder baked goods, soup, I can't even remember what all else.

B-coffee, hwc, 1/2 of a werthers original sugar free carmel apple hard candy. I had been wanting to try one and Walgreens finally got em. OMG Delicous.
L-tuna w/mayo/miracle noodles maybe?
D-IDK miracle rice w/egg/wf bbq sauce, chicken?
S or D-I just really need a good protein and small salad.

Oh yeah I'm sucking water down like crazy. My feet were so swollen last night I couldn't take it. That usually only happnens when I drink alcohol, but I'm very proud to say, I'm almost 1 month with 0 alcohol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

Thanks Nikki, trying to make it through TOM without getting discouraged. Just trying to see it through each day and do what I know I need to do for the day. My body and weight will catch up.

TOM was right on schedule for me. I remember a day before LC that my cycles were so messed up you never knew one way or the other. TOM sucks, but all the female issues I went through before sticking to LC and losing this weight, just one more reason I'm blessed to have found it. I'm "regular" lol, now I can whine and complain right a long with you normal gals lol.

However, I'm up to 229 Up and up and up, and I'm 100% on plan. So I'm up about 7lbs from my low of 222.8. Yaaaaaaaaaay

Hey Everybody! Congratulations for staying on plan. Great new pic, Michelle! Like your hair that way, though it looks good down, too. Guess you're one of those people that can wear it lots of ways. And Whoo Hoo Nikki, almost to 100 lost! That's just amazing. Really.

I just got back (after 11 hour drive) from trip to Austin. I stayed on plan, too, which is really good for me, and I ate out most meals, so that's terrific. Will weigh in tomorrow and see how it went.

Great to be back!

Hope you had a great trip Emlyn! Great job staying on plan. The only thing I worry about is retention from salt when I have to eat out a lot. But then again, I'm a super retaining person lol. I was up 7lbs from last week due to tom, but thankfully I'm down 2 today. That doesn't mean I will be tomorrow lol.

Thanks for the comment on my pic. Yes, I wear my hair a lot of ways and I think all of them look good. Sometimes my hair doesn't want to cooperate and I have to slick it down with hairspray. My hair is really long, almost goes to my butt, and some days it's just tiring to try to manage it lol.

Hit body combat last night. Earned me a "kiss me I'm irish" bracelet It was that or a Rolo I said why in the hell would I want candy after I just worked my butt off in your class? Come on now.

Here's to another alcohol free weekend. Come on self. Coooooooooome on!!!!!

I need to get ready for my trip next week for my conference. I really need to try to get "the company to buy me new "work" clothes" for it The only clothes I have that fit properly are the ones I've recently bought and it's shorts and t-shirts mostly. I've never been to a conference but I'm assuming that's not appropriate. Plus it's in Illinois I'm sure it's not warm there like it's been here. We've been in the 80's all week.

So next week I will be possibly MIA a bit, leaving at Midnight tuesday and I get to drive up there while my dad sleeps, but I will be here with my computer Monday and Tuesday. I will also have my phone which I can post with and may take my computer.

getting back on track

Michelle--here's hoping your company kicks in some new clothes for you. And good luck at the conference!

Weighed myself this morning and was down half a pound, which considering that I totally melted down late last night and pigged out on every carb-filled food still left in the house, is darn remarkable. I just snapped and started gorging on sugar and bread. Grrrrr. But I've been really good today, and I think it was a one-time only thing, and not too dispiriting since I didn't actually gain any weight (that I knew about). This happens to me a lot when I travel-- I'll get home after being good the whole time I was gone and something snaps and I lose it. Not sure what that's about...

Oh well. New resolution: get on the treadmill for a little while every day. Michelle, you are so inspiring because you're totally kicking butt with all your classes. I need to let myself do a little bit at a time rather than say, "Oh, no time today," which is just self-defeating cause then I never get on the darn thing.

So here's to baby steps!

Stay off the scale for a few days Emlyn, just incase the carbs take a day to catch up. That happens to some people. All that maters.is your back on track.

Any exercise.is better than none. Start slow and work your way up.

I.got up early to hit another body combat class. About to head out now. Will check in later!

Oh yeah, down a bit more to 225.8.

Oh you are doing so well, Michelle! You are truly my inspiration, mainly because you stay so emotionally stable and never give up, no matter what happens. I need to work on that. And thanks for the scale advice, not that I could possibly follow it. Am a scale junkie. I associate not weighing with giving up, so I just have to face the music. Luckily, I was down .2 lbs this morning, so that's okay. You're right, of course, and in the past when I've done long-term low carb (two years was the longest successful period), this would happen occasionally and the weight would sometimes show up 2 or 3 days later. Hoping this time I just lucked out.

Still haven't had a chance to make it to the local Big Lots. In the plans for this week, though, definitely. I'm still not completely unpacked yet from getting in late Thursday night. Pathetic. Did just do a huge load of laundry, though.

Onward!!!

1 month today with no alcohol Made it through the weekends, and most importantly, TOM!!!!!!!! I always drink during TOM because I never lose and always gain water weight, but I told myself, I'll be rewarded after its over, and I hope Im right. We shall see in a few days. It doesn't seem like a big deal for most, but for me, it's huge.

Me, I'm down to 224.2. I started the week at 227.4, so I've lost a bit of the water I gained. I'm right in the middle of TOM so hopefully I'll get some more water off soon. My low was 222.8 so I'm still up 1.6lbs from that. I'm going out of town for a conference for work probaby late Tuesday night and I won't be back until very very early Saturday morning. I'm going to focus on pushing my water, keeping meals very simple meat and a little veg, no sauces minimal dairy, and tell them no seasoning. That's the plan. I think the hotel has a little fitness room, not expecting much, I would KILL to see a Gold's Gym in the town lol.

My goal for the week. 218. Big dreams from a former big girl

Body Combat class at 2 if I can make my legs cooperate. This will be my 4th Combat class in a row and all the ascheevaing (sp?) is killing my legs

I'll be back in a bit to post my menu.

Morning Ladies.....
Em good to see you made it home safe and sound....great that you stayed on plan while traveling. I have stayed on plan while traveling and then oded on carbs when I returned.....sometimes I think its because I denied myself while traveling....but then when I hve endulged while traveling....it takes a long time for me to get bk on plan when I return....so glad to see you are back on plan.....so a huge gold star for you

Michelle, I am so proud of you....one month is a long time for anyone trying to break a habit....they say 3 wks is the charm to break it....I dunno cause it took me a very long time to not want a cig when I quit.....Kudos to ya

Nikki, you and Michelle are definitely the inspiration of the group....its just super super great that yall have accomplished what you have....

I am still on plan....going tomorrow for a nerve block in my spine.....shudder...lol....will have a big pack of steroids with the injection and ya know what steriods do to me....I am just going to continue with my low carbing and hopefully it will help....I have lost 11 lbs and I can already tell a difference and I just can't gain them back....with this injection, I will have 2 of the 4 problems of pain taken care of...I am not sure of the knee operation....will have to see the level of pain first The femara drug pain was the worse(pain frm hell I tell ya) the nerve pain seems to be the second worse..but will let ya know in about a wk...lol Todays menu is....3 eggs for breakfast with a salsa and mayo mixture.....it is so good on eggs...Lunch.....turkey pattie....dinner will be turkey meat loaf....with walnuts for snack and I am really eating too many of those...but its the crunch I need....
Guess what.....I hve been eating ground turkey for so long now....I no longer like hamburger pattis or meatloaf.....I also think I am addicted to the mayo/salsa mixture....yesterday I had eggs and the mixture for breakfast and dinner..you would think the scales would jiggle a lb or so.....but it didn't....so the scales are just a fun feature to my day now...

Hope you all have a wonderful day and Michelle, I hope you have a safe trip. Might check the weather forcast in that area to make sure what type clothing to wear...I do this for every trip...it really pays off....especially if umbrellas r needed

I will pray for ya June, I hope everything goes well tomorrow and the steroids don't make you gain like they usually do. Let us know how it goes.

The mayo and salsa is soooo good. I like mayo mixed with Sriracha chili sauce, that's so funny you said that because I actually plan on having that and dip shrimp in it for a snack later.

I appreciate the kudos on the alchohol. Yall know how much I struggle with it sometimes. But getting this weight off is important to me. So I need to stay the course as long as I can.

I hardly eat beef any more either. Ground turkey for me. When I go out, every now and then I'll get a burger patty,my favorite is a burger patty with bleu cheese, green chilis, and grilled jalapenos. Oh yeah.

I will do all of my weather recon tomorrow at work. I assume it will be cold though.

My menu today:

B-coffee, hwc, MR "oatmeal" made with unsweetened coconut dream. New find and I love it.
L-herb miracle rice with garlic butter tilapia
D-herb miracle rice with garlic butter tilapia
S-cold shrimp dipped in mayo/sriracha mixture.

Hopefully I can keep my menu to that. Water and coffee throughout.

Big hug for June!!!

Oh man, June! If I had to go through what you're going through, I'd totally crater. THat you've stayed on plan and lost 11 lbs is just amazing. I'm so impressed. And if I had the kind of pain you describe, I'd be sucking down booze pills and chocolate. Totally. So the fact that you've got your eyes on the prize is just really impressive. I hope the steroids don't do it to you!

And Michelle--One more time, you're amazing. I hadn't realized before that the TOM was a trigger for the drinking. Even MORE impressive!

And this salsa and mayo thing--totally going there!!!
