I know Deb.. I am totally dreading it.. wanted to go at 10:30am..today would have better at that time, than the 7pm tonight...oh well..at least it's spending more time with sonny boy.. he doesn't like to go shopping anywhere with me anymore.. he used to.. but no more...of course this is for his school supplies!!

I am making chicken for myself for dinner...it's so hot today...I am not very hungry..

That is one of the good things about here.. cause we have that Marine layer in the morning.. so it's always around 60 degrees or lower, then around 11 am it starts getting hot... except in the summer, when the high sets in, means no more marine layer, so it's like hot 24/7....

Hello ladies. I'm sorry that some of you are going through rough times. Things will get better, just have faith that they will.

Well gym is done, dinner is done, time for a hour with a good book and then maybe bed early. I'm tired, lol.

Good evening, lovely people...I am soooo tired, did a quick scan of the 4 pages you guys filled up when I was gone and it seems like everything is under control.

It is a sad day today. One of our little angels at our school passed away today He was supposed to start the 5th grade on Monday A beautiful child! Very nice and friendly. He will be missed! Unfortunately, I cannot share more at this time due to privacy issues. Send a prayer if you can for this child's Mom. And go hug your kids and grandkids or call them on the phone and tell them how much you love them. Do it for this boy and his Mom.

Hi all,

I haven't had a chance to read and catch up. I just got home, ate 2 burgers no bun and I'm about to jump in the shower because I am HELLA hairy and itchy.

Don't mind the face..I look like death today:

Let me shower and then I'll be back!

Eliza, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I honestly do not know why things like this happen, always for a reason I assume, we just don't always know what that is. I keep asking myself these things considering there was a three year old girl murdered in the area that's been on the new all week. I know there is a plan and a reason for everything, but it doesn't make things any easier. Prayers for you and the boy's family.

Morning fellow low-carbies

Seth- always up so bright and early... I don't know how you do it! If I just had half of your motivation!

Misty- Love the haircut! I think its the first pic we've seen without your glasses. Your hair looks so healthy and I bet it will be so easy to take care of

Eliza- How sad when someone that young passes. Must be TOM soon, cuz I read that and got weepy. Kids are looking at me like I've lost it.

Sue-Thanks for the Okra recipe, added it the menu for Friday. I remember cooking with my Gram all the time too... I spent almost every weekend over her house from the time I was 5 until 13... Granted my Gram was a very plain cook and alot of her baking came from a box, it was the time spent together that's important.

Deb- Thanks for that link, I need to make my way through those, I'm always looking to cut back on our grocery bills..

Very little to do today, hitting up the craft store and the dollar store with the kiddos and then just relaxing until DH gets home.... Gonna try making a ratatouille w/sausage for dinner tonite, we have a TON of veggies to use before they go bad..

Speaking of going bad.... I have a baby that smells rotten ... be back in a few

Morning Holly!

Sue, I hope you have fun with Eli today! Are you potty training him? Boys seem to be so much harder to potty train than girls. We do it everyday at work. If you need tips, let me know.

Good morning Peeps.
Wow, started that leptin reset plan and wasn't hungry much at all. It says to space out the 3 meals by 5-6 hours----that was easy and it's not usually that easy. Also, my appetite later in the day was small. Great thing!!!!

I don't really enjoy shoveling the breakfast in within 30 minutes of waking but I'm doing it. Today I had a burger and a chicken breast. Now to push the water.

Misty---love that cut on you. Your hair is pretty(so are you)

Sue--LOL about Eli. Love it.

Seth--you're such a great inspiration.

Eliza--how sad about that child, that breaks my heart. Why do bad things happen???? I think to lead us back to God(JMHO)

Christine---{{{{Hugs}}}} I'm so sorry about your furbaby.

Deb--you go girl. That pumpkin shake sounds good.

KC--hope your kids had a good first day. Hope you didn't get into those brownies. LOL

Holly---browsing at the craft store and dollar store sound like fun. I need some retail therapy soon.

Holly--actually Eliza found it and posted about it---do a search here on leptin. You will find it. Dr Jack Kruse is the dr that has tons of info on the net---search his name and you'll find it. He personally lost over 100 lbs doing the reset plan.

Good Morning all.

Chewie - On the leptin reset - I'm with you - getting that breakfast protein in is different. Need to figure out a better way - although - after reading protein lists - just have to put up with it - what for 6-8 weeks they say? Had pretty much the same results yesterday - not particularly hungry - and that is a good thing. Think I will try the burger/chicken breast tomorrow - I had a rough time this morning - 2 eggs and ham - that wasn't enough - so threw in some canadian bacon. Too much sodium though - so pushing water.

Misty - You don't have your glasses on.....But - I do like that cut - very nice - lays so pretty. Now - how about you? Do you like it yet?

Mona - How long is your hair? Nice to see you back on posting.

Christine - Sorry to hear about furbaby. So hard - many hugs.

Deb - Walking in the morning - around a track - that's what I need. Can't walk on the road - it's too busy. Keep it up - it should make you feel better. I know what - one lap you talk to me - the next lap you talk to Melinda, next Eliza, next Chewie...........we're with you in spirit. Hope you get to feeling better real soon - feeling down so long is hard to conquer - but you can do it.

KCmama - Sue - Melinda - HI!!!

Sue - have fun with the potty training! my best friend has twins and is going thru it right now... fun fun! LOL

Melinda---from what I read the leptin reset needs to go 6-8 weeks and you will know you have fixed the problem when(You want to be LS)

Signs that you are becoming leptin Sensitive (LS) again……men will notice quick weight loss. Women will notice mood changes first (calmer/sleepy) and their sleep will improve. Their clothes will fit differently but weight may not change drastically initially because of effects on the pituitary. This will change too if they continue moving forward. You will notice a change in your sweating pattern. You will also notice you have better recovery from exercise and your energy levels seem to have risen. Your hunger is gone and so are your cravings. And when you awaken you will feel very refreshed like you slept well.

A short recap of what the leptin reset program is as I understand it:

For 6-8 weeks follow a strict paleo diet as follows:
Eat 50g of protein (little to no carbs) within 30 minutes of waking
Limit carbs to 50g a day
Eat 3 meals a day, no snacking especially past 7:30pm
Meal timing should be roughly 6:30am, noon and 6:30pm
Stop all aerobic exercise
Begin weight training when the answers to these questions are all yes:
Do you notice you sweat more and have less muscle fatigue when you do exercise now?
Have your carb cravings gone away?
Is your hunger under control now?
And are you waking up more refreshed?
