So maybe it's ketosis? I think either WalMart or Target is carrying Dreamfields again, but I'm not positive. Some grocery stores around here carry it as well. It's common enough that if you ask a store to get it, they probably would.
Hey---just checked and they have a store locator on their site. Also a 1.00 off coupon. Dreamfields Pasta Retailers, Find Dreamfields Pasta near you |

Not sure why that reminded me but have any of you ladies requested the free QuestBar's? I don't think I can post their website but if you go there you can get 2 free ones. I just got them and looked over the ingredients and they actually look like pretty good stuff as far as bars go. Unfortunately the main ingredient is whey protein, which I don't care for and don't need any extra protein, but I think I'll keep them at the office for 'emergency'---need junk food now---kind of moments!
Cause in those moments it just doesn't really matter what something tastes like.

Liz---
Do you have any idea what sets off your migraines? I know it's different for everyone but it seems like certain foods are often the culprit. Hope you feel better soon! Jen---so I take it you liked the Dreamfields. Vicki---whoops, looks like I gave the wrong info. Try searching for free sample of questbars and it should take you right to the site. Sorry about that! I sooooo don't want to go to work tomorrow....but since that really isn't an option I guess I need to think about getting ready for sleepy time. Unfortunately I'm still on Vegas time---2 hours earlier plus an up all night kinda place, so I need to get my brain back to the central time zone, and reality.![]() ![]() ![]() |

Good morning lovely ladies
![]() Every day lately seems to be a struggle to stay on plan. Three meals a day with no snacks in between can be rough sometimes. But for me right now I need boundaries around my food so I have to stay with what has worked for me in the past. I don't want to quit 5 min. before the miracle. I hope everyone has a wonderful day ![]() |

Good morning Vicki and Linda---yay, 2 other early risers!
![]() Linda---I totally understand the struggle, it sucks. But you're right, hang in there and if you're feeding your body right it will all click into place. I also don't snack---snacking and grazing contributed to a lot of my weight in the first place so I cut that out first thing when I started low carbing. If I try to snack it ultimately leads to overeating and even sometimes to binging ![]() ...so I just don't do it. Thankfully I have pretty much figured out how much I need to consume at meals to keep me going to the next one, but I have to admit it would be nice to be able to just have a bit of something once in awhile without it becoming a problem. Oh well, we all have our triggers and snacking is one of mine. ![]() It is bitterly cold here.....ugggg! ![]() ![]() I need to check the weather but I'm guessing double digits below zero. I want to go back to 60's/70's and sunshine in Vegas. ![]() Well, lots of work and e-mails to catch up on so I suppose I better get to it. Have a good day everyone! |

Good morning ladies
We have had freezing rain here for the past 2 mornings.....school is closed again. Maybe the weather will be better tomorrow and my kids can get on those wonderful yellow thingys that take them away for the day ![]() I am still doing well on WW. I am enjoying trying new recipes. And loving yogurt and fruit...oh, and popcorn w/ olive oil. The weight is slowly coming off. It would probably move faster if I would exercise.............................. Jen~ Your pasta dinner sounds yummy! Teresa~ I haven't checked yet....did you win enough money to retire? Well, I guess you didn't you are working today..lol |

Oh yea, 4:30 for me. I don't have to be to work until 8 but go in early. I don't like to rush. I also exercise first thing in the morning too and usually for at least 45 minutes to an hour. Granted, I am in bed by 8:30-9 though.

Morning! It's Thursday!!
![]() Jen---glad you liked the pasta, that dish sounds great! Are you guys all dug out from the snow? Are you getting anymore this weekend? I think we are supposed to get it again tomorrow and maybe all weekend, not sure. But I am tired of it. ![]() Kathy----did the kids leave on the big yellow thing this morning? No big wins in Vegas, although playing penny slots I didn't really expect any! So what are your plans for getting back to being Ms Athletical? ![]() Liz---Vegas....well, I went into virtually every hotel on the strip and most of them I left a little deposit in their casino! I did NOT get to ride the thrill rides, that is the thing I am most disappointed about. It just never worked out timing wise with the couple of people in the group that were interested. I should have gone by myself but there was so much other stuff to do that it just kept getting pushed back. So now we are going to have to meet up in Vegas so we can ride those rides....and do lots of other stuff!! I didn't go to a show, but truly had no desire to since I can go see shows anywhere. The rest of the gang went to The Reve and said it was wonderful. I love the list! Number 11 is so true. Our running joke around here is that if you want something from me that requires any serious thinking/analyzing/decisioning you need to see me before 2pm on Thursdays----cause that's when I mentally check out for the week! My boss even has a reminder on our calendars about my check out time so they remember to bombard me with stuff before I 'check out!' ![]() ![]() I haven't made that casserole before, looks good! I decided to try barley again this week. I made a cheesy broc/chicken barley casserole and plan to have some at lunch....it looks so good so I hope my body likes it. Linda---did you make it through yesterday OK? Keep hanging in there, that miracle is right around the corner. Vicki---holy cow you exercise for up to an hour in the morning?? Good for you! What kind of exercise do you do? That is one thing I have never been able to get consistent with during this journey. I have little spurts of doing stuff, but the motivation fizzles quickly. :blush:Val---hope you get unburied quick and get back here to chat with us soon! How was the snowshoeing by the way? I've never done that. Sounds fun---except I hate the cold....so maybe not so fun. ![]() ![]() I made it through yesterdays lunch no problem. I brought a big breakfast and lunch so I'm sure I'll be fine. I really don't have any urges at all, but I just know my history so I'm being cautious. So I have been trying to decide what way I want to approach getting off these last lbs (for the last time ![]() ). Now that things seem to be leveling out for me with the aminos I feel like I can try something and not set off a binge. I have said for a long time that I would like to actually try to do Atkins induction---just because I really didn't follow it to a tee when I started. However, looking at the list of foods and guidelines---what the heck do you eat??? I mean, 2 cups salad and 1 cup veggies along with 3-4 oz cheese....and meat/eggs??? I'm not even sure what I could come up with for a menu! I could have a big salad for lunch but then my veggies would be gone for the day. I guess I'm understanding why people think this is an all meat diet cause induction would have to be very meat heavy I would think because there really isn't much else! I'm guessing I just need to think outside the box here a little and go look for some sample menus or something. All I know is that it's looking a bit daunting to me right now---of course as I sit here eating my breakfast of a banana w/pb, zuch cake and greek yogurt---the allowed foods seem a bit...ummm, boring.![]() If anyone has done a proper induction and has some menu items to share, please do!! I'm not sure if this is the way I'll go or not, but it seems like it will be 'less painful' then the other options! ![]() I looked at some of LS's induction appropriate recipes and the ones that appealed to me would take up the veggie and cheese allotments pretty quick---then what would I eat for the rest of the day?? So help a sister out here, maybe I am missing something?! ![]() Have a great day ladies! |

Okay, I'm caught up! But forgive me if I don't do a line by line hello to everyone with a comment because there was just too much!
Teresa's comment was just above though, so the last thought in my mind, the only one I have easy access to. Teresa, one idea, and how I approach induction is disregard the limits on veggies. When I do strict induction, I follow the rest but don't worry about the veggies as long as I'm eating induction allowed vegetables. So, no squash, etc, but really, 4 cups of salad instead of two? An extra 30 calories, no biggie. At least to me. The only time I *do* pay attention is if the extra veggies are coming with extra fat. So, if I'm stir frying veggies in very little oil, okay, I can have extra. If they come in a high fat cream & cheese sauce, no. An extra 3 tbsp of high fat dressing on those extra 2 cups of salad, no. But that's to keep the calories lower because I know that's what will mean the weight loss for me. So, yes, I'm back. And thanks for all the congrats from everyone on handling the work stress. It was a big "win" for me and I felt pretty good about it. I've been in weight loss mode or maintenance mode for 6-7 years now and that was something I was still struggling with and it felt good to beat it for a change. However... a little wrinkle. My new challenge is that after beating the stress eating and coming out fairly unscathed, apparently I then have to deal with the after effects of stress. I was so happy to have made it through that the Friday night after work when I was at the pub with friends, I threw caution to the wind and had nachos. Then the next day, I was still in celebratory mode and gave barely a passing thought to the danger of the oatmeal chocolate chip muffins a friend brought along for snacks on our snowshoeing excursion. And so it went - all weekend. By Monday morning, I was up over 6 lbs! It was mostly water, and I did manage to get my head out of my "you know what" Monday morning and get back on track and I'm back down to where I was now, but still. Sheeesh! Does the learning ever end? Do the challenges ever end? Apparently not. At least I'm learning to recognize the problem and get over it faster but this is something I will have to think about next quarter. So, first week of April, when I'm stressing out about my quarter end reporting and thinking how great it is that I made it through without sugar, remind me to be careful about the day *after*. |

Yeah Teresa we are out of the snow and they are calling for more tonight. UGH!!!!
I had a rough night last night. Was up at two am cleaning blood off of DGson. His mouth started bleeding and we just can't get it to stop. I cleaned him off and then couldn't get back to sleep for worrying about him. I had him laying on my chest and listened to him all night. He has so much drainage in his throat that he sounded like he had the croup. Poor baby. Mama took him to the dr early this morning.

DD called and told me that they got the bleeding stopped. Took quite a while. The Dr however has no idea why it started and wouldn't stop to begin with. Very crazy. They sent him home with a list of instructions on what to do if it started again, and with me having more questions than answers.
