Deb, The house next to me is up for sale and I am dreading new neighbors. The last ones who lived there forced us to put up a wooden fence to keep out trash and unwanted parking on our grass.

Hi everybody!

Beware of the tricksters today

Not much to say about my exercise. It'll be the same each day for 2 or 3 months.
Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast.

I talked to Dad for about an hour on the phone last night. He's doing pretty good. They're telling him congestive heart failure. He was told that in most cases it can be controled with meds. He was told to cut way back on salt. That's going to be a tough one cause Dad likes his salt. He expects to get home on Friday.

Well as I posted yesterday, Michelle had her baby. Levi William was born yesterday at 2:46pm. He weighed 7lbs 3ozs and was 19" long. Michelle and Levi are doing fine.

Doy will be spending the nights with our granddaughters for the next couple of nights.

I plan on going to see Dad this afternoon but other than that not sure what I'll be doing today. Guess I'll take it as comes. I'm sure going to try to get some guitar time for sure.

Today menu:

breakfast- 3 eggs, 3ozs
steak, 1oz cheese, 47gms blueberries, 2c green tea
49gms protein, 5.7gms carbs

Lunch- 8oz grilled hamburg paddy topped with 3/4c mushroom & 1/4c onion both sauted in butter, 2c green tea
56gms protein, 8.8gms carbs

Supper- 8ozs chicken, Salad de Floret, 2c green tea
56gms protein, 7.2gms carbs

Day 4 and going strong

Bill would you tell me more about the isometric 7 miracle exercises? Intriguing...

Down another 1.4 pounds this morning. Man I'm holding alot of water. Feeling great, but need to do a clean induction.

Happy April everyone :)

You're doing great. Congrats on the weightloss KUTGW.

The best way to I can discribe it is to pick one exercise and explain it.

I'll use the bicep curl. You start with both arms down at your side. Tense the shoulder, chest, abs and biceps. Now slowly raise your arms as if curling dumbells. Keeping muscles tense all the while. Breathing is essential here just as it is in weightlifting. As you're raising your arms breath in slowly through the nose. Exhale slowly through the mouth as you lower your arms. All muscles should remain tense from beginning to end of these movements.

That's basically how these isometrics work.

The book I'm using right now is
The Miracle Seven
By John E. Peterson & Wendie Pett

I hope you understand my explanation

jbiggars63 04-01-2010 08:46 AM

Down 4 more pounds to 209. This is the lowest I have been since High School! 9.25 pounds to ONE-derland and 16 pounds to 300 lost! Went ahead and signed up for Saturdays 2 mile run and have done it twice (once on an indoor track and once outdoors) averaging a little over 11 minutes a mile. Not bad since I just started running again about 8 days ago!

well if you combine fat filled eating with carbs then yes your friend is right but low carb really keeps your cholesterol down

yeah Jean this place has been empty for over a decade and the niece of the guy who used to live there is moving in *sigh* i am afraid of more random gunfire drinking LOUD music(i grew up in the 80s like my tunes loud this is too extreme for me) and just in general being afraid of going outside..... them having animals that would tear up over here etc...one time my lot kept dog got out ONCE now and he almost killed it instead of bringing it home his daughter caught him passed out and brought it to me but HIS dogs could go anywhere they pleased when he died i breathed a sigh of relief and i know that is awful i just HATE it and wish i could have bought that property before this

Afternoon All! Just reporting that the doctor released dad. He was discharged around noon with instructions, a fist full of meds and a list of restrictions. He's doing much better.

And I'll be going to pick up Michelle and Levi tomorrow morning.

With everything going on I forgot abou Toni coming by today. So here I am all stretched out and refreshed from the stretching and massage she just completed.

:hiya:I think I have finally found a thread on this site that I will like. I am 4 weeks on plan and down 15 lbs. I have not read the Atkins book, nor am I an expert, but eliminating carbs has been a very common sense step for me. It is easy for me because when I reflect on my old way of eating, I ate mostly carbs, LOL. So now I eat the things that I still like and love, without the bread and pasta and rice etc, etc.

However, I noticed the blog on uses for OOPSIE'S and because I find this site very difficult to navigate, will someone simply post the recipe for me...

Thank you for all of your suggestions and information.:hiya:

Tyrone Bill 04-01-2010 07:30 PM

Welcome aboard Mimi! 15 pounds in 4 weeks, quite impressive. Post often so we can get to know you better and follow your progress!!

MimiMarshall 04-01-2010 09:28 PM

Thank you Mr. Nice Guy... I am happy about the 15 lbs gone, however.. lost this same 15 and 10 more... 25lbs for every year over the past 20 years.. over and over again, lose/gain.. like many others I am sure. I AM changing my life I have decided that this is the only way. I WILL eat this way for the rest of my life. OBVIOUSLY the other countless diets I have attempted DONT WORK!!! Otherwise, I wouldnt be here.

I also have to change my WOT... (Way Of Thinking) I ALWAYS gain it back! I always make it 6 or 8 weeks and then fall off! I always lose 20-25 lbs and tell myself "Just a little cheat won't hurt"! DEFINITION OF AN IDIOT = Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result... WELL, I am tired of being an IDIOT!!!!

SO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can someone help me down from my soapbox now??:kicking::hyst:

Tyrone Bill 04-02-2010 04:40 AM

This recipe goes with this blog entry.

Oopsie Rolls (Gluten-Free Buns)

3 large eggs
pinch of cream of tartar (1/8 tsp)
3 ounces cream cheese (Do not soften)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

Separate the eggs and add cream cheese to the yolks. Use a mixer to combine the ingredients together. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff (if you're using the same mixer, mix the whites first and then the yolk mixture). Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the white mixture, being careful not to break down the whites. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray and spoon the mixture onto the sheet, making 6 mounds. Flatten each mound slightly.

Bake about 30 minutes (You want them slightly softer, not crumbly). Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes, and then remove to a rack and allow them to cool. Store in a loosely open sack and allow to rest on the counter before use (otherwise they might be too moist). Can be frozen.

Notes: If you are making these to be savory (for burgers) you can add dry mustard and dill or other seasonings to the yolk mixture. If you want a more sweet roll, add a very small amount of stevia natural sweetener to the yolk mixture.

Makes 6@ about 85 calories a piece, >1 carb per
Induction Friendly, Gluten-Free
where she used 300 degrees i oopsed myself and did 350 and they have turned out perfect EVERYTIME!!! so oops can be a good thing!

Day 5 and GOING STRONG!

:welcome: Mimi!

Well, down a few ounces today. Not going to fret over it because it is, afterall, Day 5.

Had an interesting conversation with my therapist yesterday. I've been discussing with him why I give up on myself and fall off the wagon, after I was so successful the last time. The last time I lost 75 pounds and NOTHING crossed my lips that wasn't supposed to. I drank water only for 8 months, and was very CARB **** about it...lol. So when I fell off, I thought, well, that's it. So now, every time I start, if I have a bad day, and eat something I shouldn't, I think, well, I've ruined today, might as well eat what I want till tomorrow, then tomorrow comes, and I don't go back on plan. Then years pass...lol.

So, we talked about that, and he told me he would be interested to see me cheat and get right back on. This is HORRIFYING to me. If I cheat, I fall hard. It's easier for me to be ****...lol. I will be going to Atlanta with my daughter for her birthday on the 7th and he TOLD ME TO CHEAT!!! And then get right back on plan. I don't know if I can do it. What do you guys think about his reasoning? He said he would be much more impressed if I cheated and got back on plan than if I didn't cheat at all. I'm just not sure I can do it.

jbiggars63 04-02-2010 07:39 AM

My first impression is this is something I would see on fail blog! Just doesn't sound right to me anyway!:dunno:

Ladybugsy 04-02-2010 07:55 AM

I mean, I understand he wants me to realize that it's not the END if I cheat, but I'm scared...lol.

jbiggars63 04-02-2010 08:30 AM

Yeah, I understand that but I would be afraid that once I accept I could cheat and get back on plan, it would become easier to cheat...

pawcat73 04-02-2010 10:20 AM

I know what you mean but I am starting to realize that even staying on plan 75% of the time is something to be proud of. I can honestly say that I go off plan once a week when I get together with my friends on saturday and I still am 62 lbs down. I don't go hog wild but I indulge a bit. Maybe I'll have a sweet if it interests me or a carb rich meal but that is it. I am back on plan the next day/meal. Trust yourself and remember that one day doesn't mean you have failed just deviated. :hugs:
