New here.

Hi!

Just stopping by to say hello. I was encouraged to see this group for support.

I have been eating low carb since 03', I have gained and lost, and lost and gained. I have been on and off the wagon more times than I desire to mention...

I am always semi lurking on all the boards here.. I am working on a plan right now to get myself duct taped to the wagon.

Thanks for being here, let's hope I can keep up. Seems to be a nice group.

Make it a great day!

Sis.

Thanks for your continued prayers, they are very special to me. Some folks at work want me to quit work and go on disability until this matter resolves, but I do not want to do that. I am so thankful for my friends and my parents and my family at this time in my life, it helps me to keep going... I am sorry but I do not know who posted that she had went through a brain bleed, I cannot find the post, but would you mind please pm me about ways to cope and manage until I get through this better?? THank you so much
Hugs and prayers everyone!!
THe prayer was so beautiful, Deb, I hope to go home with clean heart and eyes and not be ashamed, when it is time... too.
My mind is starting to wander, & spelling is not so good.. I am going to bed, now.. God bless everyone and keep you all safe Good night!! Jean
oh Jean if you can, stay working as long as you can, i know you need time to recover but when someone is used to working and that goes away for whatever reason ..depression then sneaks in and never seems to go away! my FIl worked all his life in the mines and broke his back there and after he couldn't work anymore he just sank into the darkest depression i would not wish that on anyone

Update/saying hi

Hi all,

I'm just going to pretend that I haven't been popping in and then disappearing and just post. We are doing a biggest loser competition at work and it has finally given me some motivation to get back on track. (I have a really hard time blogging or writing a diary or keeping up with web posting like this every day).

At the end of week 1, I lost 7 lbs. Right now I'm on a plan to work out with weights on M/W/F mornings. I walk with friends on T/Th/Sat. Rest on Sunday. I am working towards doing the "Couch to 5k" plan, if anyone else has done it let me know. Still teaching karate but that involves more standing around and yelling than actual working out.

Steve

BITTER/SWEET

6 weeks NO CARBS - 19 lbs gone. WHAT an accomplishment! Picturing 2, 10lb bags of potatos!! WOW!! Yet, I can't help listening to that little man on my shoulder dressed up as the devil saying "Why isn't it more??".

However, I don't yet feel the need to go "off plan" and have every desire to keep going at this point. I think the difference this time is definately NO CARBS. I mean, fatty foods are where its at! They are filling and because I have lived my life trying to 'stay away' from fatty foods, it feels like I am cheating all the time by eating them. Burgers, butter, cheese, steak, chicken, fish, all the things my mother told me to 'cut back' on, I eat with pleasure and the pounds continue to go away.

THIS IS WOE IS SOMEWHAT "BITTER/SWEET"!

Good evening everybody!

I haven't been doing so well. I didn't exercise today. My meals weren't what I had planned. Not off plan just not much to eat today. A lot of pain and it's affecting my appetite. Hopefully I'll be back to some semblance of normal soon.

Good morning, everyone! I'm at work so I have to make this quick:

Steve and Sis

Bill - I'm so sorry about the pain you are experiencing and hope that it subsides soon!

Mimi-Way to go girl!

Hi Jean - you are in my prayers

Hi Mamapoohbear - you are in my prayers, too!

Deb, congratulations on the mile walk with no stopping - that is great news! Also, I hope the surgery with your DH goes well. Keep us posted.

Hi Beth!

Also, hi to anyone I missed - so sorry if I did.

BTW, I went back on my NS program on Monday, 4/5 and as of today I have lost 9 pounds. I really want to stay on plan this time and keep consistently losing weight. Since I have so much to lose, I can't afford to keep breaking the cycle with wrong eating.

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning/Afternoon

So...

I have been studying Japanese Karate for like 15 years. I have been teaching off and on for the last 5. A past injury kind of made me lazy about the exercise. Does anyone else feel like the heavier you are the more you don't even want to exercise. I can't even do the activities I like to lose weight, because I'm heavier and don't like to do them.

I have become lazy during karate class. I'm also more self-conscious about the way I look in class. I feel like Kung-Fu Panda!! This is a big motivator for my weight loss; I want to be a much better example for my students.

Anyway, I worked hard for about 30 min out of the 2 hours at Karate last night.

Diet-wise, I am all over the place. I still haven't decided what I'm doing...I'm sorta low-carb sorta low GI?? I'm having a hard time being hardcore about induction like I was in my 20's. Plus now I have a second mouth to feed. I find that I am doing low-carb at lunch and maybe dinner. Breakfast is a huge problem for me. I have become finicky about food! I don't want to cook breakfast, and I'm having a lower tolerance for plain eggs. Hard-boiled is ok, egg-salad is OK. Quiche is OK (I make a mean crustless-quiche).

Had a protein/almond smoothie for breakfast. Eating left over steak and a salad for lunch. Dinner who knows?

Walking with friends at 6:15 followed by a tai-chi class at 7.

You should be proud of yourself for what you DID accomplish - 30 minutes is great! There are some of us who can't even walk on a treadmill for 5 minutes with out extreme pain. You are doing what you know to do and eventually you will last the 2 hours.

You will figure out your eating.....Bill has wonderful posts of his meals - maybe it would help to copy those so you won't have to think about it. Just a thought.....

Hang in there!

Hi everyone,
I'm at the office today and still without a computer. We have one picked out but of course they were out and MAY have them back in this Wed.
Looks like we have new/old people dropping in here!! The more the merrier!!!
Steve, I agree that Bill has the most wonderful meals! He got me hooked on the Protein Power with his daily menu on here.
Hi to everyone else. Prayers for everyone who is going through hard times right now. I'm really stressed and fighting the urge to eat things I shouldn't at them moment. Pray that I don't give in to it.
Hopefully I will be back on within the week or so.
I need to be here daily and I miss the strength I draw froim everyone here. I won't be back on until I get my new computer. Later gators!!!

Hellos to Bill, Eliza, Gibby, Eaglesmate and all the newbies here.
I am still lurking here some...just sad so many of our good friends have had to leave.

Jean, great to see you!!!! Hope you'd stop by more often. Just like you, I miss a lot of the friends who are not here.

Hugs:
Eliza
