Mama Jean I'm sorry that you're going through so much. I hope and pray that you get the medical care that you need to have a full recovery. And I'm praying that you find the peace of mind you are seeking.
Don't forget we're all here for you. May God bless and heal you. |

Good morning everybody!
Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast. I spent most of yesterday outside. It was a beautiful sunny day. Doy and I prepped flower beds for planting. She wants to hurry and plant but I reminded her that April in Pennsylvania can still get frost and below freezing temps. She bought some Chocolate colored Dahlias she wants to get planted. I did some practice in boogie style on my guitar. I don't do much flat picking so I stumbled my way through a couple of hours. It felt clumsy. I kept complaining about my bad playing. But Doy said it sounded good to her. I think she might be a little biased! Yesterday's food, water and exercise were as usual right on target. I think today will be another one of those no plan days. Just enjoy whatever it brings. Today's menu: breakfast- 3 eggs, 3ozs sirloin pork cutlet, 1oz cheese, 60gms canned peaches w/splenda, 2c green tea 49gms protein, 8gms carbs Lunch- Philey cheese steak(6ozs thin sliced sirloin steak, (1/8c onion & 1/4c bell pepper)sauted, 1oz cheddar), on a LC pita pocket, 2c green tea 56gms protein, 9.6gms carbs Supper- 8ozs chicken, 3/4c steamed beets, spinach salad w/ evoo&vinegar, 2c green tea 56gms protein, 8.7gms carbs Have a great day my friends!

The isometrics are going along quite well. I had about a week of sore muscles. But now I'm doing fine. The exercises are getting are definitely having an affect on my body. One thing I've noticed is its easier for me use the wheel chair. Before I kinda crept along but now I can move along at a pretty good clip.
You have a good afternoon and evening! |

HI Everyone :O)
Sharon good to hear from you... you are very missed here!! Hugs and prayers your way... Wow!! Great News Angie. May 4th will be here before you know it and you'll come through the surgery with flying colors and be feeling fantastic in no time !!! You are doing wonderfully! Hi Eliza, Thanks so much for the kind words and the superb quote :O) I copied it off to hang on my wall at work. I tend to worry alot when I am there. I can beat this thing!! One of my best friends was talking to me tonight and she reminded me that I have a strong, very active mind and it will keep going strong regardless of the challenges I face. I had to smile, she's right as usual :O) In fact when I told my Mom about the conversation, I couldn't help but think that if my body was half as active as my mind is, I would be the size of Twiggy ![]() HI Deb, Thanks for the prayers. THey mean a lot to me. ANd thanks for brightening up our thread with such beautiful pictures. You and Sue and everyone else that uses Photobucket and other sites... WOW!!! It sure is pretty in here :O)THanks so much Bill, your Kindness and prayers mean a lot to me ANd thatnks for the reminder that we are all here together for one another... Sometimes I forget, and it's nice to be reminded to everyone who is new or is coming back or has been lurking around... Come on in and sit and chat awhile :O)Congrat's to all who have lost weight and those who have gained strength and mobility... Go Deb Go... I cannot even imagine a mile walked at the moment... Girl you rock!!! Hugs and Prayers to everyone, Big Hi and hugs to anyone I missed... thanks for being here and thanks for your emotional support and friendship... They really help more than words can say Jean

A big hello to everybody!
Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast. I didn't do much yesterday. Doy and I went to the local green house where purchased some bedding flowers and topsoil. I gave the birdbath a good scrubbing and touchup painting. I got some guitar time in, talked to our son on the phone, and watched 'Ghost Hunters'. That was pretty much yesterday in a nut shell. These days the only planning ahead I'm doing is my exercise and meals. Of course today is Thursday and that means Toni will paying me a visit. The stretching and massage she provides really helps me. The stretching helps with flexibility and range of motion while the deep tissue massage is for the prevention of blood clots, muscle cramps and pain in my legs. Although the massage does result in soreness for a couple of days. Today's menu: breakfast- chocolate/raspberry protein shake, 2c green tea 52gms protein, 7gms carbs Lunch- 8oz roasted turkey thigh, 1c Tangy Cabbage, 2c green tea 56gms protein, 6.3gms carbs Supper- 8ozs Thai Holy Basil beef, 3 1/2ozs cauli-rice, 2c chopped romaine w/evoo & vinegar, 2c green tea 56gms protein, 9.3gms carbs Have a great day my friends! |

MamaJean, I am saying prayers for you. Please don't take your grandmothers experience with alzheimer's as what all Alzheimer's patients will experience. They have new drugs that keep you functioning for years. My dad had Alzheimers and was doing great until my mother decided to take him off his medicine. I have had a brain bleed and know how devestating that can be. That was 10 years ago and I am back to normal, but it was a long process. Keep your chin up and plow ahead.

Hi everyone,
I finally received my Richard Simmons collection. When DS saw it, he started laughing so hard, he fell on the floor! Who is that strange man in short shorts and sequined shirt in even stranger poses???? I don't care what anyone says, doing Richard's routines has been about the only time I've had fun while exercising. I respect him for putting people my size in his videos, gives me a sense that I can modify and work out, not just sit on the bike and pedal. Deb, now I know why I can't PM you, I got your e-mail. Bill, you are more active than my teenager! I bet you and Doy have a lovely garden. MamaJean, ((((((hugs))))))) I understand why you can be worried, but I know everything will be OK. Angie, May 5th is so close! Everyone I missed: keep up the good fight and have a fantastic day! Hugs: Eliza |

Good morning everybody!
Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast. Exercise is getting to be routine. I'm actually looking forward to it each morning. I'm having no problem staying within the limits of my eating requirements. The planning ahead of meals is probably a big factor. My session with Toni was great. She did a milder form of stretching on me this time. She said if I keep up with my morning stretching, she will be less rigorous in the stretching. But...the massage will remain the same. The part of the massage that's really uncomfortable is the use of the elbow...cringe! We got some outside time, that is until it started raining. Not a heavy rain, just enough that to chase us indoors. Watched 'Survivor' and then hit the guitar for some evening unwinding. Finished the night with some reading... THE MIRACLE SEVEN Today we'll be going to the Asian market in State College. Doy needs to stock up on some Thai food staples. While there we plan on visiting our son Billy. The rest of the day will be spent relaxing at home. Today's meals: breakfast- 3 eggs, 3oz steak, 1oz cheese, 70gms blackberries, 2c green tea 49gms protein, 8.9gms carbs Lunch- Taco salad, 2c green tea 50gms protein, 7gms carbs Supper- 8ozs Buffalo-style chicken thighs, homemade coleslaw, 2c green tea 56gms protein, 7.5gms carbs Have a good LC day! |

Hi friends,
Happy Friday! ![]() Apart from an outbreak of the "pink eye", things in school are great! Looking forward to the weekend. The house is clean so I can devote more time to going out and having fun. Bill, ouch!!! Elbow? I guess it's good therapy, but so painful (judging from personal experience). Can she not use one of those special massage tools that are rounded so she doesn't have to poke a sharp elbow in you? Bravo on all the exercise you've been doing! ![]() Deb, Twoverville? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The scale didn't break, you are getting slimmer!!!! ![]() ![]() How are your sons and DIL, as well as your husband doing? I haven't inquired after them in such a long time.Hi to Melissa, MamaJean, Sharon, Sue, and everyone else I've missed ![]() I think it's time to go to the newbie threads and invite some new pals over to the thread. It's not moving nearly as fast as it was last year. What do you think?Last edited by Eliza_Jazz; 04-09-2010 at 10:49 AM.. |
