The thing about going off is sometimes you don't get back on for months! It's like a drug addict. That is what happened to me at Christmas. Once I fell off I just couldn't stop eating the sugar. Finally months later I came to me senses and jumped back on board.
Now there has been times where I went off for a couple of days and got right back on. Why you can do this one time but not the next is a mystery to me. I say if you can stay on program without going off that is wonderful. If you can't.....well don't beat yourself up and give up thinking I have really blown it now. Give yourself some leeway and get back up and start again. I find sometimes when I have gone off it might take me a week or so of starting and failing....starting and failing...until it clicks in. I have learned to understand that it takes me a few days to get back on and I don't knock myself for that. Lots of good thoughts coming your way Ladybugsy. We can do it!!!! Just keep on keeping on!

an Easter reminder

Reminder:Lilies are poisonous to cats and cause acute renal failure/death within days. Easter, Day, Tiger and Stargazer lilies are all toxic to cats and every part of them is toxic: leaves, stem, petals, stamens and pollen. Just licking pollen off of an object/fur or a quick chew on a leaf can be fatal

Hey guys - we're getting ready to hit the road for our trip to GA. I have lots of legal snacks packed so I can stay on plan. I think I've packed enough entertainment stuff to keep the kids busy (or at least quiet!!). I should be back the 7th or 8th so most likely no posting till then. I hope y'all have a wonderful Easter! Wish us luck!

Oh, BTW, I weighed this morning - 321 - so I have "officially" lost 40 lbs. since 1/1/10.

Sooo often I battle with myself over staying on LC. There are so many negative comments and even doctors telling me to just eat less. You are truely an inspiration. I read your posts and think, if he can do it for this long and loose this much and is healthy it must be a healthy and doable for the long haul kind of way of eating. Thank you for posting. and Congrats to you!!

Your welcome!

Yea I noticed that guitar day. Also this is AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH and I wish everybody would take the time to read and learn more about this ever increasing plaque on our children.
As many of you know my youngest GD Sage is autistic. I've studied and learned so much about Autism for her sake. I hope that by this be designated as Autism awareness month it will bring to light the daily and life long struggles of these afflicted children and adults.

Good morning everybody!

Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast.

Michelle and Levi are now home. It turned out I didn't need to pick her up. Her beau was able to do it. Needless to say when they arrived home, Doy and I were there to greet them. After a couple hours of getting to know our new grandson we returned home to finish preparations for Sunday. Doy and I have decided to spend Easter Sunday home this year. It'll just be the two of us. I did about an hour on the quitar. When I don't get some guitar time in, I feel like there's something missing from my day.

Doy and I will be doing a little last minute holiday shopping. After that, we will prep food for tomorrow so all we have to do is bake the ham, put the faux potato salad together. We're doing a little less traditional Easter meal this year. Easy with less cooking.

Today's menu:

breakfast- 3 eggs, 4ozs sirloin pork cutlet, 60gms canned peaches w/splenda, 2c green tea
46gms protein, 8gms carbs

Lunch- Whopper in a Bowl, 2c green tea
56ozs protein, 3gms carbs

Supper- 8ozs chicken, 5 steamed brussel sprouts, lettuce and tomato salad w/evoo & tarragon vinegar, 2c green tea
56gms protein, 8.5gms carbs

Have a wonderful good day!

Good Saturday afternoon!!!!!!
What a mess I am in! My computer is really messed up! I won't go into all of it but I'll have to have someone come out and see what is going on.
Eliza!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are back on!!!!!!!
Deb, you're doing it to me again with those colorful wonderful looking eggs!!! I'm thinking.....hmmm...are those peanut butter or what under there!
Min, I'm sure you are well on your journey by now.
Hi Bill!! I guess you have held that new grand son a few times by now!! Enjoy your quiet Sunday with just you and Doy. That can be a nice thing. Quiet and no going crazy (like me) fixing dinner!!
All of my grand babies will be here tomorrow for dinner and an egg hunt. It should be fun.
Everyone have a wonderful Easter Sunday with family and friends.
Catch you Monday.

Happy Easter everybody!

Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast.

This year it'll be just Doy and I celebrating Easter together. It'll be a nice quiet time. We rented two great movies that are appropriate for this holiday season: 'The Greatest Story Ever Told' and 'The Gospel of John'.

On Doy's little shopping venture yesterday she purchased some spring clothes for grandchildren. One item she just couldn't resist buying. A little shirt for Levi with letters across the front saying 'grandpap's little sidekick'. Michelle just loved it.

Today's menu:

Breakfast- vanilla/cinnamon protein shake, 70gms raspberries, 2c green tea
51gms protein, 8.2gms carbs

Lunch & Supper ham baked on the grill, brussel sprouts baked on the grill and basted with the ham drippings, faux tater salad, pickled eggs & beets, 2c green tea
56gms protein, 9.3gms carbs

Have a blessed Easter Sunday!

Happy Monday everybody!

Stretching, warm-ups and the miracle seven isometric exercises before breakfast.

It was a nice Easter Sunday for Doy and I. We had a good LC holiday meal, enjoyed two great movies and was pleasantly surprised with many phone calls from relatives and friends!

Today is my monthly doctors appointment and weighin. I'll update the results later. After I'm done there, the rest of the day is going to be a day of relaxation. A time to unwind from events of this past week. Dad's trip to the hospital, the birth of our fifth grandchild and first grandson. In my old days of emotional binge eating there may not have been much left in the house to eat at he end of the week. But now it never occurred to me to eat to mellow out. I'm feeling rather proud of the advancements I've made in reining in my binge eating to a halt.

I can see some relaxing guitar playing in my future today

Today's menu:

breakfast- no breakfast- fasting labs.

Lunch- 8oz hamburg patty,
1oz cheddar cheese, LC pita bread, lettuce, tomato slice, 2c green tea.
52gms protein, 8gms carbs.

Supper- 8ozs roasted paprika chicken, cukes & onions salad, 60gms canned peaches w/splenda, 2c green tea
56gms protein, 9.4gms carbs

Have a great day my friends!

Thanks Joan! It does work and is a lifestyle!

Ran the race in 19:51! The first mile was done in 7:48! I freaked (since I was only shooting for 10 minute miles since I have only just started re-training 8 days ago) so I slowed down....too much....but I still averaged less than a 10 minute mile! WOOT!

Well, down a few ounces today. Not going to fret over it because it is, afterall, Day 5.

Had an interesting conversation with my therapist yesterday. I've been discussing with him why I give up on myself and fall off the wagon, after I was so successful the last time. The last time I lost 75 pounds and NOTHING crossed my lips that wasn't supposed to. I drank water only for 8 months, and was very CARB **** about it...lol. So when I fell off, I thought, well, that's it. So now, every time I start, if I have a bad day, and eat something I shouldn't, I think, well, I've ruined today, might as well eat what I want till tomorrow, then tomorrow comes, and I don't go back on plan. Then years pass...lol.

So, we talked about that, and he told me he would be interested to see me cheat and get right back on. This is HORRIFYING to me. If I cheat, I fall hard. It's easier for me to be ****...lol. I will be going to Atlanta with my daughter for her birthday on the 7th and he TOLD ME TO CHEAT!!! And then get right back on plan. I don't know if I can do it. What do you guys think about his reasoning? He said he would be much more impressed if I cheated and got back on plan than if I didn't cheat at all. I'm just not sure I can do it.
I completely understand his reasoning.. I have spent my life as an "expert" dieter and I have done (the OLE' me) the very same thing... go off a diet and all Hell breaks loose!!! Why bother to continue, right??? Well, I have decided that exact way of thinking has brought me to my size and weight today. Something has to change... repeating myself, the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result.

This cannot be an "all or nothing" WOE... I have to learn the definition of MODERATION!!! I have to use it to the extreme as I continue to lose, however, deprivation makes me crazy and I have to learn that making the choice to go "off" plan allows me the choice to get right back "on" plan. So here is my new way of thinking: While losing, I will allow 1 day a month for 1 meal to be off plan. If there is a celebration, I will plan for it. If I have a bad day of sorts, I will make up for it. etc. etc.

Deprivation, for me, is the devil in disguise. I know myself, and I know I have weaknesses and the world around me will continue to sabotage my WOE. This time, I will be in control and I will control 'how much' or 'how often' I will give in to going 'off plan'. As long as I control what goes into my mouth, good or bad, I will succeed!!!

I will also eliminate the word CHEAT from my WOE. The negative connotation that comes with that word is overwhelming. I chose to say 'off plan' because the alternative to that is 'on plan'. Am I NUTS, or can you all understand the mind game I am playing with myself. Afterall, it is my mind that determines my sanity or insanity correct?? Hope I wasnt too deep, LOL!!

Best wishes to all and good luck... keep up the good work everyone!
