Hip and Thigh pain?
I posted this in the main lobby also but really need some feed back and help.
I have noticed the last several months since gaining so much weight back that at night I have a lot of pain in my hips and upper thighs at night. I wake up and have to turn often and if I lay on my back same thing lower back pain and it is only at night while trying to sleep. Do you think it will get better with weight loss? I do not remember this last time I was this heavy but I am older now too. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

im not sure what it would be but it could be related to the weight...if it's interfering with sleep or any major function (walking etc) i would at least have it checked out by a doctor...if you are losing feeling or like it's "falling asleep" it could be a nerve issue...i've had that with my lower back discs and a part of my calf seems to now be permanently "falling asleep" where i have lost some feeling but not all...if that makes sense
if it's not causing major problems i would just focus on losing weight...but i'm also not one to run to the dr over minor things...on the other hand, if it's interfering with things or causing lack of feeling, i would definitely get it checked out

No it's not interfering other than waking up often to turn over all the time. I am fine durring the day even when I get up at first I am sore but soon as I start moving around I am fine. No numbing at all nothing like that. That is why I didn't go to doctor for it I am pretty sure it is a weight issue but was hoping maybe someone had some suggestions on how to get through it until enough weight comes off. One person told me to up my vitamin D and also to put a small pillow under my upper body to take pressure off the lower body. I am going to try that tonight.

I have horrible back pain during sleep when I'm heavier, but as I'm losing weight it's getting better. Hopefully that will be the case with you too.

I had this 16 years ago, at 48, (weighing only 150lbs). Cannot lie on my back, or I get lower back pain and, lying on my side, I have to turn every 15-20 minutes. I sleep really well nowadays and turn in my sleep without waking.
