Can I join to?

Hi. I guess this is where I belong. I need to lose 100#s. What a sad thing for me to say because a few years back I only had about 40 to lose. Last year i was feeling real good. I was able to work in the garden, rake leaves and do all kinds of things. Winter hit. I don't like the cold and did not go out unless I had to. I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. winter and cold and dry air makes it so bad. So anyway i started gaining. All winter long. I started feeling bad. By spring i could not do a lot of stuff. I realized laying in bed the other morning that I started going downhill when winter hit so now that it is close to winter and to cold for me I have to lose this weight. I also have plantar fascitis and such awful pain in my heel so no walking all summer. I am slowly getting a lot of things under control so hopefully this winter i can go in the pool and do water aerobics. I could not before as my psoriasis was so bad. I didnt ask but felt they would not let me use the pool as bad as my skin looked.
I started out last tuesday Oct 27th at 249.3. I will weight myself tomorrow. I sure hope I have lost some weight but I also have a problem with never seeming to be full. Prob due to being so lazy and inactive.
I am not a diabetic yet but am on my way according to test. Not good. So not only am I going to do LC again but have to try to eat less. I am also hypothyroid. Dead thyroid. I have lots wrong with me but have learned to live with it but when i have problems getting out of a chair, out of bed, bending over, trying to get shoes on and so on and so forth it is time to get control so with Gods help I will do this. I also need a lot of help from you all. thanks so much.

A new week and a new month! We are closing in on the end of 2009, but it doesn't end there. We just all need to continue to do our best and work our plans and more importantly if we go off plan...get right back on! We can do it!!

Larie.. I hear ya! I dove face first into a plate of lasagna at dinner over the weekend even tho there were LOTS of LC options. Remember, its a lifestyle. Just get back on plan as soon as you can and don't beat yourself up over it.

Not that you asked, *but*....Just looking at your menu, I am wondering where your veggies are? Are you entering your food into Fitday or something similar? You might not be eating enough. That is what is great about LC. Typically we can eat a couple hundred more calories per day than someone doing low fat and still lose weight.

Larie - it does get hard at times... i'm a perfect example of that... but we have to keep going...

the one way that i stayed focused previously is by not letting food be a priority for me... i used to obsess about food... whats for lunch, dinner etc... i know i was successful and stayed on plan when my meals were not a priority... i would plan them, eat them, enjoy them... but not obsess over them...

Happy Tuesday all!
Oh you guys!! That stupid funnel cake made me sick as a dog! i jumped on here and posted but was sick all that day and yesterday! Man it felt good when that stuff passed out of my stomach. INCREDIBLE the shrinking my stomach has done. Now dont get me wrong, i felt hunger stronger yesterday than i had in a very long time(cause i was nauseated sunday ), but i stayed on plan and took oil to stave off over eating... I'm eating a heavy vegie greek salad this week for lunch... My energy kicked back in by sunday evening. GOOD GRIEF that stuff is evil!

Welcome Puffysmom! It sounds like you have a plan and thats the first step in your journey so i congratulate you today! How's it going so far? any challenges? what are you eating? Some others might want to chime in since i have very little knowledge of psoriasis but i've read that apple cider vinegar can clear that up for some people. You have other ailments so make sure you research that first! Welcome to our group!!!

I am so impressed with the exercising going on here ladies!!! You inspire me!!! (This is where i'm supposed to join you. ) I tell ya, with my sister's broken foot, i have to pick her up and take her to work now. I dont mean to make excuses but its seems like another thing on the agenda..

Peggy, you really made me think about my veggies. when i first started i would open 2 cans of veggies per dinner. (Not a fresh vegie cooker!)Now, we're down to one and its slim pickings.. I'm upping them today!

Larie, backup, refocus, and start again. Today. Its ok to get off track, come on back. You are doing so good and have a long trip in front of you. Its ok to stop and stay at the hotel but get up in the morning and start again woman! We're here with you!!!! (Can you tell I'm due for a road trip?)

Have a great day everybody!
Moonius!!! Come back!!!!
Just want to post that i'm thankful for our group.

B: Egg cream
S: Coffe and almonds
L: greek salad
S: 2 tbl olive oil
D: Taco salad
S: PB on the spoon

Good morning everyone!
I'm hangin in there. Sat. was the only day I deviated from my woe. Had a small sandwich, handfull of potatoe chips, half a soda, and vey small piece of red velvet cake at a family halloween party. I was physco analysing myself the next day and realized it was the first time I had been to a fam celebration with my dads side of the fam since my dad passed away. Also, ya know how alot of fam get togeathers are all about the food. Well this part of my fam takes that to an extreme...food=love with them big time! So now I am mentaly and emotionaly prepaird for a fam get togeather with them next time. I was dealing with some heavy cravings for the 2 days after that to. Yuck!

I have been feeling really tired the last few days, think maybe it is my lack of veggies. I guess I did that egg fast and had such good results I got it into my head that the lower the carb the faster I'll loose. And it is so much easier to just grab a cheese stick or scramble some eggs when I'm in a hurry.
But...I'm refocusing and getting exercise and veggies back into my priority list, at the top!

Trying to find more balance. I was so tired for so many years and working full time so all I did was work, take care of kiddos, watch tv and go to church on Sunday. Now all the sudden I have freedom of being a stay at home mom and more energy and I want to do eveything all at once. Well, starting to see that stretching myself to thin has its problems. Like forgetting importand things, and last night I got my 2nd speeding ticket in 1 month. With both of them I just wasnt paying attention to how fast I was going because I had so much on my mind. UGH!
So my goal this week is to slow it down a bit. Say no thank you to some of the fun playdates and such.
Getting healthy affects your life in so many ways you never expect!

Sandra your new pic looks fantastic! Can't wait to have one like that to use
Have any of you ever read The Metabalism Mirical or any Dr. Berstiens books? Thinking of checking them out.
Hope you all have a fantastic Wed. I will be weighing later today and hope to have good news to come back and report later. My jeans are defenatly feeling even more loose!

B~coffee w hwc and splenda,turkey sausage
L~chicken taco salad
D~baked salmon,fried zuccini (spelling?)
S~string cheese

I did bad

I weighted on Monday as I felt from Tuesday to the next monday is a week. I was so excited as I was sure i had lost weight. Well I did to a point. Only lost 7oz. I went off the LC for two days and then a friend reminded me how when we were doing SS LC that this happens. So i just got done copying recipes from the slow cooker thread and made a list and now i am off to shop for more things for the house. I dont have enough choices and I know that does not help.
It is a gloomy day here. We had two days of sun. It was a cool windy sunny day yesterday which was conceiving but at least it was not gloom. almost all of OCt was gloom and rain so I am sick of it.
Catch u all later. Need to go and spend some money. Good luck and good eating to you all.

OK...I woke up today and was thinking of how far I have to go...and it is a bit overwhelming as the weight is not coming off like it did in the beginning. Then I thought "Shoot, its still coming off! Do you want to get to your goal or don't you?"

Well........Heck YA! I want to get to my goal! I then mixed up a new recipe for me...Ricotta cheese/egg waffles and I must say...they were yummy with butter and a couple slices of bacon. NUM! Search the Main Lobby for Ricotta waffles and you will find them. You can make them as pancakes as well, but I broke out the waffle griddle and fired it up!

I have been so busy this week in the AM and have been falling back to my tuna salad and feta for lunch. Tommorrow, I will have to mix things up a bit.

take care all.......

good morning everyone!

Laurie - i know how it is to be tired... i work full time, cook, clean, grocery shop, iron, do homework with my little one, excercise, budget... the list goes on! enjoy every minute of being a stay at home! some people dont understand what a privilage that is! i miss so much of my son's life by having to get up and go to work every day... i had to go back to work when he was just 3 months old... cherish every moment! (but you already know that!)

Puffysmom - keep on going!

peggy - you have come a very long way! sometimes it gets overwelming... but you are so strong... and you have proved that!

today i walked another mile (WATP video). it felt really good... i found someone on craigslist who is giving away a manual treadmill for free... i might be picking that up after work today... i hope its small enough to keep under my bed... since i have a small apartment and cant fit anything else... it looks like the excercise bike deal fell through... i'm a little dissapointed, but i will keep looking since thats what i really wanted...

yesterday's menu:
b: egg salad
l: meatballs and cheese
d: chicken legs

happy Thursday!

So hard

It is so hard to get back into this. I know I have to because i need to lose the weight which has caused other problems. I think if i lived alone i could do better. The last time when i LC my hubby was alive and even though he did not eat like I did most of what he liked I didnt care about anyway. Living with my son, DIL and two kids is a different story. They should LC but they dont and so i have so many temptation.
I went shopping yesterday and got everything on my list but dried buttermilk. Have never seen it on the shelves but then i never looked for it. On my second stop i accidentely had my Cc drop out of my pocket. I was so scared so i made the trip back and a employee had found it. That was lucky for me cause anyone could have found and used it. So instead of backtracking and going to the store I thought might have it I went to the local on who did not. They had the LC tortilla shells but they r still high in carbs. I put them down in a hurry.

I have a problem with breakfast. I just do not care much for eggs anymore. I also dont care for pancakes and such made out of cheese so what do i have? This morning I am just having sausage. Should keep me full.

Torister. u have come a long ways already. What a nice lose. U R giving me more incentive to stick with it. Thanks

Good morning!
Well I weighed yesterday and the scale didn't say I lost anything more than a couple ounces, but I know something has changed because my jeans are literally hanging off of me.
I seem to be noticing a pattern with my weighing. One or two weeks I will show very little loss, then all the sudden in one week I'l lose 5 -6 lbs. So I'm not worried about the lack of loss on the scale this week.
Next week I will be signing up for my gym membership. I can't wait to crank up my mp3 and get movin! Need to do some research I think on building arm strength without making my shoulders any bigger. I really do not need wider shoulders!lol I think I'll get a session with a trainer included in my membership.
Tonight is a fall festival, chilli feed and such. Gunna eat before I go and remid myself how bad for me cornbread and brownies are for me.
Wish me luck!

Peggy you have already lost so much, you are doing fantastic! I can't wait till I am where you are!

B~eggs& charizo,coffe w hwc and splenda
L~ chicken taco salad
D~alfredo chicken,greenbeans

Peggy - its funny (not really) how things work... about 10 years ago when i first did atkins i lost 60 pounds and I weighed in at 120 pounds... do you know that i would go to the store and purchase large sizes... even though i fit into smalls? just because i was used to that... i always saw myself as "heavy" .... i didnt believe that i was thin... that i could fit into small clothes... and so losing weight really does change our lives... you can do this though! you have come a really long way!

Puffysmom - glad you got your Credit card back... you never know who can get their hands on that!

Larie- i'm jealous! i wish i could go to the gym!

Hey all!
I got to go on my DD field trip yesterday. It was so fun! I played on the playground, rode a schoolbus, and listened to jokes that had punchlines that didnt makes sense! Hahaha! I am sooo blessed...

Peggy, just got to jump on here and wish you well. You have a great knowledge of this plan and we've all benefited from it. Your posts remind me of the people on a long journey who are tired of looking at the same road (ever drive thru Georgia down 75? BORING!) I'm checking out the waffles as soon as I'm done posting. And i've already upped the veggies!

Agnes, I love those WATP tapes. I think they are so much funner than the treadmill. I guess cause someone's talking to you and pushing you.. My treadmill broke or I'd pop it in an envelope to you. Your posts sound more optimistic btw...

Larie, good job getting back on plan right away. Those foodfests are going to happen. You'll start bringing your favorite low carb dishes and you'll have that one aunt who will make something special for you cause she's proud of you for losing. You hit the nail on the head with the inch loss vs the weight loss. You drive like me.

Puffysmom, when i first started, i made up 2 weeks worth of menus and stuck to them. Then changed them up for 2 more weeks, then again until i had 6 weeks of rotating menus. If it wasnt on the menu, i didnt eat it. I did alot of tweaking with my snacks. After eggs got old i went to just meat for breakfast for a long time, and lost fine. Then i did the egg cream/coffee smoothie. I've heard people eat non-breakfast foods too so down get hung up on this.
I'll tell you what i want to tell every over weight person i see because you are here trying. Your life is going to be 10,000,000 times better if you will stick to this plan!!!!! Your pain will go away, your clothes will not only fit better you wont mind wearing clothes (), you will feel younger and stronger, get up and out easier, your clothes options will be prettier, and I'll stop before i enter into male attention. You can do this!

I am on the very edge of a cliff of cutting the carbs of my youngest daughter. I have alot of planning to do. Wish me luck!

Have a great day all!

B: Egg Cream
S: Coffee and almonds
L: roast beef (ran out of salad fixins )
S: olive oil
D: LW Pizza

If you are hungry...you need to eat Agnes. You did the right thing. We need to listen to our bodies.

Good morning!
The Fall Festival was a blast last night and I was so busy playing barista and running the craft room with the little kiddos I didn't even have time to be tempted by the chilli, cornbread and brownies. Yay!
Now tonight is our churches Fall Festival and it includes a spagetti cook off. Thankfull there will be salad and my other low carb friend is bringing chicken.

Been really tired this week and I'm wondering if it is due to my lack of veggies the last couple weeks. So yesterday I upped my veggies up quit a bit. 1 whole tomatoe and salad made with green leaf lettuce. It was still only about 2 cups of veggies for the whole day so I be shooting for 3 cups today.

Agnes, I can't afford a gym membership but I asked for my birthday for money to put twords a membership istead of gifts. I was given enough for 5 months. It's one of those small 24 hour places,do they have those where you are? You could ask for Christmas?

Puffysmom, you can do this just keep at it!

Peggy, you inspire me..thanks! Anyone that can loose that much weight just amazes me. I pray everyday that I will be able to do it!

Sandra, isn't it so fun hangin with the kiddos. I love letting my inner child come out, especially when it comes to crafts. My friends tease me that my inner child is a preschooler...I love to finger paint and such. lol

One thing I heard when I was starting this journey again that I want to share with you all is....

"Getting healthy is hard, but so is being overweight,so choose your hard!"

I don't remember where I heard it. Was it one of you? But is stuck with me and really helps to remember on the hard days I have been having lately.

I just rememberd I had a counceling appt. yesterday and I forgot about it. UGH! To busy.

Have a great weekend all!

B~coffee w sf creamer,bacon
S~string cheese
L~salmon,cheese and spinach omlett
D~chicken,salad,lc pumpkin cheescake
Lots and Lots of Water!
