It's sure great to see some of you coming back here! We miss you when you're gone.

Avoiding temptation is so great! It's one step at a time. We can do this, even if it's slow! Just keep it steady. It's a way of life; not a short fad diet.

Have a great day!!

Deb, you asked for it:
We've been very busy canning and babysitting. We were so blessed to be given tomatoes and potatoes. Also had 44 pounds of apples given to us and then when we were finished with them, someone asked if we'd come and pick their apple tree. All they want in return is a jar of apple butter. Also given zucchini, a few cukes, onions, and rutabegas. God is so awesome. We also have a tote full of our own grown sweet corn that has to be done today.

Each afternoon until bedtime, we have the 3 grandbabies cuz DIL is coaching volleyball. So, it's best if we are cleaned up from canning by that time. DD and her boyfriend have been awesome with pitching in on all of it!!! But DH has been very stressed and ornery.

DS severely sprained his ankle Monday night at a fire dept training, it's doing well and he is once again able to walk on it.

We took Mom in for her lab work yesterday and it's good we were close to the E.R. because DD's boyfriend had an asthma attack. That was scary. He has no insurance. He's fine now, but worried about medical bills. My mom borrowed him the money to get 2 perscriptions filled and his birth dad is ordering some inhalers from Canada so he has them on hand. Thanking God for all the help and blessings.

Had a sad evening later. One of my long time friends called regarding one of our very best mutual friends, which has a 3rd occurance of cancer. First time was breast cancer. Second time was ovarian. This time it has spread to liver. Docs are trying to get her into a new chemo program that is a test for now. FDA not approved yet. So, I prayed for strength to call her. I've been so scared to call her because I don't want to cry on the phone. All of a sudden I just dialed her number and she answered. We talked for a long time and are planning a bonfire with all of our old friends. She totally understood the reasons for not calling sooner. She is just a doll. Smiling and optimistic all the time. Christian. She said she knows why it's called the "silent killer" because she feels great most of the time. They have her on one drug and it makes her tire quickly but other than that, she's also canning and babysitting infant grand daughter!!!

If you see this posting on another thread here, it's because I have to get busy now.

I'm reading posts and running around to visit now.

Have a great day filled with blessings and smiles.

Hugs.

Sharon I truly wish your friend health. 3rd time cancer is so scary. I hope she will receive the new treatment even tho it hasn't been approved yet. You seem to live a very busy, yet fulfilling life. You are definitely a blessed soul. I will keep your friend in my prayers. God be with you all.

Carol, wooooooohoooooooo for the 6 lb loss. I am so very proud of you girlfriend. Keep it up. I made it thru vacation without a gain. I stayed on plan the whole time. Pat, pat, pat meself on the back This was a HUGE hurdle for me.

Patrick Swayze was one of the better actors on this earth. I'm not sure which movie I liked best, but Dirty Dancing and Ghost both come to mind. He and his wife were true soul mates!! He sure lived with determination. Will miss him.

Have a great weekend, everyone. Will be gone awhile tomorrow and that back home to do some more canning. Pretty busy Sunday coming up too. If I don't get to check back; have a great weekend and stay on-plan. Your plan. Your health. Your way of life. Success. All of us, together!!! Have fun.

Nighty night.

I am looking forward to dinner out this evening with live

Sorry, I've been lax in posting this weekend. Just too busy with the grandkids and helping DD with canning. So far: applesauce, apple butter, beets, rutabaga, potatoes, tomatoes, corn. Have left for this week: more spuds, apples, cuke pickles, rutabaga, zucchini, crookneck squash, and tomatoes. Hopefully, we'll have enough tomatoes coming in to make a batch of salsa too. The stores around here no longer carry jars, lids, etc. so I hope we have enough. If not, we'll have to find people who would like some produce!!! We haven't really paid for any of this stuff. It's just been coming from all directions since DD lost her job. God is awesome!!

I weigh in tomorrow so I'll let you know if all this work has made for a whoosh Hoping so.

canning .... I wish I knew how to do it. My Mom and grandparents used to do a lot of it but they had a garden and planted lots of vegetables. Also many fruit trees. For me to can something (if I knew how ), I'd have to buy it from the store.

I am quite good at freezer cooking, though. It is the biggest helper of a working mom. Some days I come home from work and don't feel like cooking at all. So here comes a frozen meal to save the day!

Morning Ladies

Eliza, I wish I knew how to can too!! Actually, I have a good concept of it, just afraid of it. I have watched my granny and mom do it many times. The only thing I would can would be pickles and green beans. There is just no other way to get the wonderful taste of green beans that a canning jar does.

So sorry to hear about Zer. I had no clue she had cancer. I really didn't know her but have read her posts and always enjoyed them. Thanks Deb for letting us know.

My weigh in today was not a good one. I am staying on plan, not giving up. Looking over my fitday stats, its seems I have not accomplished anything this past month. I have worked so hard and have been on plan each and every day. The only time I have faltered has been with nuts but really not enough to hold me back for a whole month Stomping my foot and saying "boo hiss" On the positive, I haven't gained either......so that is a plus and I will be satisfied with that
