Hi Ladies-
Thanks so much for the warm welcome back. The first day of induction went ok. I'm on my way to the grocery store in a bit to get some things to have around as snacks (i.e. get some eggs to boil, nitrate free lunch meat, celery sticks, etc.) Carol-CONGRATULATIONS! on being down 5 pounds! WTG! Love the pic of Emelie June-Great PMA (Positive mental attitude!) and I know what you mean about thinking about where I would/might have been if I had just stuck with things. But, as you pointed out, we can't change the past but we can do something good with the present. Kim-whatever height you are, you're awesome-pretty, fun loving, adventurous (and cute too!) BTW, are you going with them this year too? How is your daughter? Sharon-Hope all is well. Deb-the kitties are fine. They both are begging to go outside right now so they can hunt lizards... Jann-take it easy and I love your avi. Hope everyone has a great day! --Laura |

Morning great ladies. Hope everyone woke feeling fine and dandy
![]() Carol, I think we are going to make it this time around. I get strength in this forum. It does make a difference. I look at others and think "they are working the plan" I know I can work this plan also. I have also looked within and I see many places where I set myself up for failure. Bringing poison foods in the house for others is one way. There is no reason for me to do so. When I buy nuts thinking I can be responsible I know its just not going to work. Cheese the same. There are so many things I do that cause me to go off plan. My plan now is to correct them one by one. I am trying to get to the place where low carb follows me where ever I go. I succeeded this week end. Now I want to succeed this following week end when we go out of town. I have realized that each holiday and each trip out of town is when I break plan and gain what I have lost. That is the main reason I am at the same weight I was last year.......give or take a few lbs. Too many vacations and too many holidays. I think when I learn to enjoy both without having to eat what I think I must have, then and only then will I be successful in this weight loss journey. Sorry this is long but getting it out and getting feed back definitely helps. Therapy in a sense Short or tall Kim, your a cutie. I so wanna be where you are in weight You still are a great inspiration to us all. I think I want you to make goal almost as much as you do. Jann, that tomato and mayo dip sounds interesting. Think I'll check out the carb amount for tomatoes. I have squeezed a tomato over lettuce and added mayo and bacon. Very good ![]() Sharon, one day we are going to be wearing those cute clothes. Just wait, its going to happen ![]() Laura, hope your day is going good. I just can't tell you how much you were missed and how glad I am that you are back with us. Now where is our lil Oregan friend???? I miss her also!! Top of the morning to ya, Deb ![]()

Hello Friends. It's always good to come here and see new posts. I haven't been online much today. Little Maddy's 3rd birthday. Plus, we canned corn for them. They have a very tiny kitchen. It was really humid out today, so we canned with the central air on. 24 pints is pretty good for the first time. We worked the land, planted the seed, harvested the cobs, etc. It's awesome to look at the two dozen golden jars!
I was caught offguard and really blew my eating plan tonight. Why, after all this time am I being so lame??? I can not and will not let those lost pounds come back on this body. I wish I got sick or something when I ate nasty carbs. Help!

Slow but steady
Hi folks,
Well, I did something today that I've been putting off for a long time. I changed my weight on my profile to reflect reality. Before I got pregnant with baby#2 I was at my lowest weight in a long time (333 Lbs.). I had not changed my weight since then (and I had gained up to 410 pounds again). I am 365 pounds today - and I am starting from here going forward. I WILL make it back to 333 - I am hoping to see it again by Christmas. I am a super slow loser by WLS standards. It is difficult in a way but also there is some smug satisfaction too. Satisfaction because it confirms that I really do have some metabolic issue with losing weight. I have long raged over the fact that I could be ultra-strict with myself and still stall out or lose painfully slow. Here I am having WLS and still losing MUCH slower than other folks despite compliance with my WOE. But at least I know my devil! I know that I have to endure slow and steady. I won't be the fastest loser - but I will lose. Maybe it is my lot in life to accept that the pounds will come off slow but I need to learn patience and to not give up so easily. So, there it is, my weight on this site is for real - I am no longer fooling myself and others. Reality sucks, but it's also necessary. Love to all big and small. Susan |

Laura yes yes yes having the right foods prepared and at your impulse ready can keep you consistant too!
Susan your candid post is priceless and so are you honesty is our best friend in here. I know you are making it this time no matter what ... right Susan? DEB ![]() Sharon You most likely got into the spirit of that canning project with whoever you were with and just went on along with the crowd ... a little tired perhaps? food was the comfort and fun of the moment? You will hop back on now and Congratulations on doing such a great job on that corn in the 80's I did two or three bushels every August only we froze ours but in the winter oh how wonderful right!!! June Your posts are most inspiring to me honestly there has always been one day or another someone here has said just what I needed to read/hear. ![]() (Charlie Brown) As Lucy does...I only charge 5 cents. I am your twin sister I have been talking and posting and empting myself out it actually did bring me to my senses. I spoke out all the excuses I have been telling me in the mirror WOW have I ever been conning myself. ![]() That's the way I got to the truth about me and I am HAPPY as can be now. I have many people alerted to see that I am on track. I cannot trust me right yet will let you all know when I can be trusted if ever? Food is a tricky addicts substance because of that we get away with cheating in public and no one even knows except us and we con ourselves all day long ![]() I have myself on FOOD ARREST THAT IS HOW i WANT IT!!!!

Just a quick check in I am making myself wear my new reading glasses and it is weird I can read a Book very clear but the monitor is looking blurred. Can anyone explain this one? LOL
I am on plan but I know I am not eating enough that is the thing I need to work on according to all the sites like Sparkpeople, Fitday etc I need to eat over 2000 cal a day I rarely make 1400. Pic I took in the Car today after picking up the Glasses. They are writing me another script for Driving glasses for Distance. ![]() My Hair/Bangs looks so square I need to actually look in the mirror sometime ![]() June enjoy your trip and everyone else I will be back in a bit I need to check on my Roast I have not ate at all today.

Quiggley, If your glasses are for reading, that could make the monitor look 'off'. Maybe your driving glasses will work better? You might want to ask your eye doc. for the answer. I know that I can't wear my no-line glasses on computer. I'm near sided. So that doesn't make sense either. Have you been needing glasses on the computer before?

Hello! Deb pointed me in this direction from the 300+ thread. I've been back for a few weeks now after being gone what feels like years? I dunno.
I was just asking if anyone knew what happened to Laura and there she is. Hi Laura! I remember Moon's Mom, Realityjunkie and Hot Tamale too. Me and HT had some sort of nickname for each other but I can't remember it now. Anyhow, nice to see so many familiar names. ![]() I've been on LC just over two weeks now and I'm really jonesing for bad carbs. I just made some whipped heavy cream but it's not helping. Gotta get through this! It's time for me to go to bed anyhow so I guess I will just sleep away my craving.

Hey Mona welcome back! I remember you of course! Hope things are going well and come and visit often!
Hang in there and the carb cravings will decrease. For me, if I'm really craving sweet carbs a hot cup of coffee with HWC and sweetener usually does the trick. |

Your tricks must work, Kim, cuz you're looking good!
Nice graphics again, Deb. Cute! Very warm, sunny, humid weekend here. Doing a lot of canning. Well, actually DD and her boyfriend are doing the canning. I'm just teaching them and giving pointers. Looking forward to a successful week for all of us here. Helps to keep myself accountable. Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. Now back to full weeks of everything cuz the next holiday is a ways away. How did everyone's last week go?
Happy Monday folks!
Well, I had a rather uneventful week last week weight loss wise. In fact I am up a pound and a half as of this morning's weigh in. However I did have quite a lot of salt this last weekend so I might be retaining some water. Further evidence that this might be the case is that I have swollen ankles and general puffiness. We are having such gorgeous weather here the last week (what a blessing). Lord I love September. Picture this ladies - this is how lucky and blessed I am... I live in a fruit belt in southern British Columbia Canada. We live about a 1/2 mile from a gorgeous fresh water lake surrounded by rolling mountains. We live on an orchard and our apples and pears are being picked this week and the sweet smell of fruit is everywhere. Our days right now are lovely and warm and our evenings are chilly and perfect for sleeping. Sunny days at the beach and in the park, and most of the tourists have gone home for the summer. God bless the tourists for they spend lots of money in our region and keep us all working, but it sure is nice when all the human and RV traffic moves out of our lovely little bucolic town. My kids and I spend our days bathed in warm sun - and they go to bed exhausted and happy. Nightly baths are spent washing sand out of crevices and hair. My bathtub has a permanent ring around it - and it couldn't please me more. Yesterday morning we woke to find deer in our yard eating fallen fruit and we watched them silently feeding until my 1yr old couldn't contain her excitment anymore and squealed so loud they ran off. We had a lovely family BBQ last night and ate gorgeous steak and talked on our patio till it was so dark we couldn't see each other anymore. Weightloss - not such a great week for me last week. Personal Life - I would not have traded last week for any amount of money. Blessed day to everyone. Let's hope this week is as good as last week with a few more pounds gone though. Love to all. Susan |

Absolutely blessed, Susan! Take lots of pictures to refresh those memories in your mind. As time fades into memories, it's great to look at the pictures and renew it all.

Hey everyone just a quick check in I am having major stomach issues tonight. It is weird I can eat Cucumbers in a mixed salad with no issues but if I eat a Cucumber Tomato Salad I suffer for hours with belching and Gas.
I have been on plan without any cheats for over 2 weeks I am debating on weighing or waiting until my Birthday. I am just afraid I will get depressed over it as I have shared I have been stuck in this 30 pound thing for almost 2 years. I go up and down but never break past the lowest number. This has been a hard couple of Days the AC broke Sat night and we have been missable, The AC repair Guy comes later today thankfully. I feel guilty I went out and bought a portable AC unit and I and the Dogs are staying cool leaving My Mom and Aunt hot. This will tell you how humid it is here there is a galleon tank on the unit and I have had to empty it every hour. I just put the hose to run into a Garbage can so I can get some sleep. Food for the Monday Bacon with Cheese melted on it dipped in Mayo and Tomatoes so kinda BLT just no bread or Lettuce-one of my favorite LC meals. Dinner 12 ounces Roast Beef shared with 5 Dogs so not sure how much I ended up with Cuke,Tomato, red onion with Ken's Greek dressing. |
