Gosh I love you women.

Grammie C - I just wish you were my Mom. I say this laughing with a big of cheek, but seriously I am just diggin your scene. You are like a true genteel southern lady to me and I just adore you. I will try the Lotomil I think next if I can't get the diarrhea in check.

Good News Story

I am in the 340's again! I am getting closer and closer to the weight I was when I stopped doing Atkins because of pregnancy with baby#2. My lowest weight was 333. This way taken on the day I went to the Doctor's to confirm pregnancy. I feel like I am back on track with eating lower carb and I am getting closer to my personal best which has given me wind beneath my wings again.

I have this mental line drawn in the sand of my psyche that thinks that my "jumping off point" is my lowest personal best of 333Lbs. I feel this strong need to get back to 333 and then re-commit from there.

So anyhow, I am going in the right direction I think and very proud to be out of the 350's again.

I am still not doing the pool as much as I would like. I have a few different reasons why. Some if it is financial because I must pay for child-minding for 2 children while I do it. Because my husband doesn't teach all summer it takes us a few months to recover financially from summer vacation (with no pay cheques). On some days I pay for my swimming fee, both of their swimming fees, and 2x the fee for child minding (it all adds up to about $14.00 that day). Another reason is that the girls have such fun themselves in the pool. If I do laps and then take them into the pool after that I am just about crippled with pain and fatigue. And the third reason is that I am suffering from diarrhea and I wouldn't dare to have an accident in the pool.

However, all of these excuses don't add up to a hill of beans because the bottom line is that I need to MOVE (period). I am making this pledge here and now.

By November 1, 2009, I will be in the pool doing laps a minimum of 3 days a week.

Love to all those who post here/there/and everywhere.

Susan

as I know many who do !!!!!!!!

Hi June "Gone with the Wind where ever you are"
"hope your enjoying the time away"

DH is completing our kitchen island today and tomorrow we have each weekend scheduled until my adult children visit in Nov. We will have three extra adults here and one absoulyely amazing Emelie 18 months and never staing still.

Could someone explain to me how the ice Cream man makes a living driving up and down the streets of the neighborhood never stopping.

He has the lovlilest music chime playing (I'm Popeye the Sailor Man)
drives once at no expected time and never stops his truck. I have lived here five years and not once saw anyone buying because he just keeps going.
How can he be making a living

Love to all here and I mean it you lovlies!!

Hi good ladies

Deb, I keep waiting for your graphics of winter/Chistmas! Where are they at this year? I thought by this time of year you were thinking of Christmas trees and stockings no? Or maybe like the retailers you wait till the Halloween stock is back in the storeroom? Either way Deb I always enjoyed your enthusiasm for Christmas, maybe you should open a Christmas store?

I am getting excited (and a little worried) about Christmas this year. My 3yr old (who will be 4yrs old at Christmas) already has a list a mile long of toys she wants. We are really getting socked with toy commericals right now on our children's television shows. I have no idea how we are going to afford Christmas this year. Living on 1 income is sure a committment I tell you. I am doing my best to stay at home with my kids until they get to school, but it's not easy living on my husband's teacher's salary exclusively. She saw a toy yesterday that she almost cried about she wanted so bad: Some toy cat called "Lulu" from the Fur Real collection. It is super cute, but it was over $50.00! Oh my goodness I better start pinching pennies now.

Meanwhile - weight loss has been very dramatic the last few weeks for me. I got on the scale and briefly say the number 139.6. However I think when the scale finally came to rest I have to call it an even 340. I have lost a pound a day lately. In order to control my diarrhea I have had to really get serious about my diet which has in turned worked out to some fantastic weight loss numbers. I went a whole lot lower-fat (still protein based though) and cut way down on snacking. I am getting very excited withthe thought of being back to my baseline 333 by the end of the month (or if I'm lucky even before). I dream of a very unrealistic "below 300" by Christmas/New Year. I feel this is setting myself up a bit. Just because I had unbelieveable losses the last 2 weeks doesn't mean I will be able to maintain this without a stall. But gosh - I dream of being in the 200's these days. I haven't been int he 200's since my car accident in 1998 where I broke my back. When I had that accident I weighed 230 pounds. From there is when I started to gain the most deadly and serious of my weight and within a year of that accident I was over 300 and I haven't seen the 200's since then. I spent 6 months on my back in a brace, another 6 months after that in a combination wheelchair and walker.

Today we are taking the kids to a pumpkin patch to pick out their pumpkins. It is a big farm (agri-entertainment business really). It has hay rides and crafts, a corn maze and pumpkin tossing things that look mighty fun. My 3yr old is NUTS about The Wizard of Oz. I swear she watches that movie every single day. She plays while it's on, she can't concentrate on it for the whole 2 hours, but she knows every single word I am sure. She doesn't know it yet, but we bought a Dorothy costume for her for Halloween and her little sister Sascha a Toto costume. I don't think the 1.5yr old will make it out of the stroller - but it will still be super-cute. I will try to post some pictures of them in their costume after Halloween comes. I am not going to show her the costume until then because I know she will want to wear it 24/7.

Have a good day everyone.

Love to all.

Susan

I'm so glad to hear your health is improving, Susan! Now I know why my scale is standing still; YOU have the whooshie fairy! That's okay, you've earned it.
Anxious to see pics of your babies in their costumes!!! cute!

Have an enjoyable day at the Patch; all of the fields around here froze before October 1st. No patch hunting for us this year. They're all rotten.

Greetings to everyone: Deb, Kim, Laura, June, Tamale, Nikki. And anyone else who is lurking about. Come on in. We're nice!! Have a relaxing Sunday afternoon/evening. I'm sure many are watching football. I'll be re-canning some jars that didn't seal. Urghhh.

Snow??? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I think I need to move to Anna Maria Island...sigh.

Checking in to say things are going well. I today officially busted my stall and weighed in at 182.6, a weight I haven't seen since 1995. So, I've now lost 156.4 lbs from my heaviest, and 143.4 lbs since March 2007. Maybe by March 2010 I'll be half my size!

Absolutely FAINTS at all the amazing losses people are posting.
Looks at woosh fairy....waves...shouts: PICK ME PICK ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys are inspirational.
I hesitate because we are taking the twins to Disney for their (free) birthday right before Halloween. I know how difficult it is for me to stick to things when I am on "vacation" - even if it is only for 1 day in the park.
In any case, I am still going to try to lose 100 pounds by July 5th - the one year anniversary of the blood clot incident that almost killed me.
Tonight I am making cubed steak with some sort of non-carby sauce/gravy (I know, that is an oxymoron!). I figure even if I lose a few pounds between now and the trip those are pounds I didn't gian waiting to get over it...

You can do this!!

As for the gravy/sauce,,,,,,,,,,try sour cream or cream cheese (and beef boullion granules) to make a great tasting lower carb one. Yummy and addicting in a good way.

I think you're the fairy's next stop, so behave

Morning ladies I am home frm vacation, I stayed on plan and still didn't lose. I know I walked 100 miles while gone. I have said it before and I will keep saying it. Girls, lose the weight now......later it just doesn't come off as easy. I am a bit miffed because I ate 2 meals a day and nothing white passed these lips. My leg muscles are so sore frm all the walking we did. I don't even think its fluid frm riding 10 hrs in vehicle. Its just my body. Right now I just keep saying at least you didn't gain and that is a major victory because I always gain on vacation.

Kim, I am so proud of you and so happy that you have broken your stall.

Chris, hang in there. If you do nothing else, drop the sugar and leave it on the sidewalk for good. Long as you keep making the effort, its eventually going to kick in. Its when you stop posting and making the effort to begin again, stay on plan or even get ticked when you screw up. Its all about being aware of what you are suppose to do that will eventually get you on the road to recovery.

Sharon, your gravy sounds wonderful.

Hi ladies this thread is reporting some eye catching stuff this morning!!

Thanks Susan for calling for Deb's Christmas eye candy
it always picks us up on the lowsiest day and there are a few eh?
Thanks! Deb the Snow is so purdy online ... on line (clearing throat)

I have gone and gotten caught in Farmville, Lil Farm, Farmtown making
my depression subside while my mind is focused
on the Farms I do not think of anything that could possibly get me down.

DH walked in the Living room and I sensed politics conversation coming up so I said
not now honey I am planting Pumpkins ... LMHO it worked ha ha ha

Susan, Kim, Cris
I am so excited about the milestone foresight for you all

I recently got a look at the toy prices and practically passed out.
I completely realize your babies are too young yet but when they are older...
My best memory of Christmas was the years we made cut out cookies and decorated them.
Christmas and cut out cookies are the same word...yes

I focused my kids attentions on the traditions more as long as I could.
We also had TV Blackout days. ( not suggesting for you)

It will be fun to see the girls dressed in their costumes.
My Emelie will be Strawberry Shortcake.
I will also post her dressed.

Post all the dressed kids for Halloween Oh what fun!!!

now...

June and I have a tough BATTLE on our hands
I am not sure about you Sharon but YES er REE !!!!!

I am not one to hide my age ... I am 63 and 1/2
My body is slowing down from having completed Menopause ...
does not sound sexy but THAT is CRAZY not true.
I have metabolic resistance
I have terrible osteo arthritis so I can't do much outside of water
to lose weight I have to eat like a bird six days and buffet style once a week to fool my body.

I agree with June get it off ASAP before your age creeps up on you

Yes Kim Christmas is beautiful here at the beginning of December we have the Light Boat Parade so beautiful
in the evening to open up the Christmas season here...

Have a great day ladies I will be here another week then I will break for the Family Visit.

Time sure is flying, isn't it?! Already nearly time for your family visit, Carol!!!!

My body slowed down in the 90's when I had a total hysterectomy but didn't change my lifestyle!! As well as two lumbar discs gone. Bone on bone now. Too fat for surgery to fuse them. But I continue on, knowing God has plans that I don't understand.

Glad to see you back, June. Did you have a good time? See anything awesome? 10 hours is a very long car ride. I'm good for about 2 hours

Cris, come here each day. We're here for ya.

Deb, let's do more holiday stuff. I'm hungry for it! In, my head, not tummy. I'll await your presentations.

Have a great day, kids! I'm cleaning pole shed with DH.
